Finding a well decorated cake that tastes as good as it looks is so hard to do these days… until we tasted Sarah’s! She really has a way with buttercream. Our cake had a gorgeous ombre effect with such gorgeous flowers piled on top and trailing all the way down. It was perfect!

Her flavors are so creative, and she really works with her clients to figure out what they like. We had 2 flavors in alternating tiers. She really brought some creativity to the tasting to help us come up with them based off of our favorite desserts and candy bars.

We know Sarah bakes out of love, but she really has a talent for it. We’re so glad she could make our wedding extra sweet!

We went with Sarah after trying a handful of other bakers because of the taste of her creations – AND her enthusiasm. A few of other bakers we did tastings with did not exude the same excitement Sarah did when we discussed our vision for our cake. Trust me. You want this trait in your wedding cake baker. I thought I had to use fresh flowers on my cake because my research showed me that hand-made flowers can be costly and not look as “real”. I shared this concern with Sarah, and she was up for the challenge of making the flowers for the cake! I want you to take a good look at the cake she created. I showed Sarah what I wanted my bouquet to look like and the color scheme- look at the pictures . Do you see those Calli Lilies?! They matched my bouquet right down to the shade of purple inside!! The detail in those Roses? Those flowers looked real!
I wanted a semi naked cake and she hit it out of the park!!! I had three layers of different flavors and one other baker told me that it would show through the icing because I wanted a semi-naked cake. It did not. The taste. Let me tell you. I had people calling me the next day asking if I had any left-over cake. Seriously. Sarah also made cupcakes with lovely floral details with two different cake and filling flavors than the cake. Her buttercream is delicious. Not too sweet- just right. The cake is moist and flavorful. Her fruit compote is heavenly. I am a hardcore chocoholic. The top part of our cake was her chocolate flavor with mocha ganache filling. You know how you’re supposed to leave the top part for the one-year celebration? We couldn’t do it. Too good. If she’s not too busy because she’s going to be flooded with so many requests- we are going to have her make our one-year celebratory cake! Oh, and she’s making my son’s cupcakes for his party this month. THAT is how amazing she is.
Sarah is down to earth and she communicates well. Sarah will follow up when you reach out and she won’t have you waiting for a response. Sarah delivers the cake to you as well. My wedding was in the morning, and she brought the cake to the reception EARLY!
I can without a doubt say that Sarah of “Firefly Cake Design” was THE best wedding cake I have ever had! Stunning and delicious does not do it justice. You will be remiss if you do not go with Sarah for your next important event. She is everything. Period.

I highly recommend Sarah! She is a true professional, and she made choosing a wedding cake fun and delicious from start to finish. The cake tasting was a pretty great experience and we got to try a few different flavors and varieties. In addition, I had a fun cake topper that I really wanted to highlight and Sarah took my idea and turned it into something pretty amazing. All my guests raved about the beautifully decorated cake (with spring edible flowers) and the wonderful baker! It was a pleasure to work with her and she made my day. and cake truly memorable.
