Ryan was incredible to work with. He was very responsive/prompt with emails. He had suggestions and ideas to look through from previous shoots he did and how to capture lighting, and work with locations and timing. He made me and my fiance feel very comfortable and at ease with any and all questions prior and during the photoshoot. He made us laugh, we got along very easily, and Ryan helped us to have an incredibly special engagement shoot. I have worked with Ryan as a bridesmaid in my friends wedding, he was great to work with then, and he was one of the first things I booked now that it's my wedding. He accommodated us wanting to have our dog in some of the photos and really understanding about everything. He knows what he is doing. Ryan is fast and efficient and I am so happy he will be there for our special day too. We had our engagement photos back very quickly and just loved our experience. Thank you Ryan! Can't wait for the big day!

Update: Ryan Lam and his team shot our wedding on April 8th at the Terrace Room in Oakland. Once again, it was a pleasure to work with him. His team was with us from our pre-ceremony until the end of our reception. We received our photos about five weeks after the wedding. The photos turned out beautifully and I have framed a few for our home. I recommend Ryan Lam Photography for anybody looking for beautiful photos of their special events.

Ryan Lam is an absolute pleasure to work with. He made my fiance and I feel very comfortable in front of the camera during our engagement shoot on January 11th. We were able to be ourselves while he snapped away. The final photos are beautiful. We had a few photos that needed a little extra editing to remove people from the background. He did that easily and they turned out perfect! Also, he was able to get all of our engagement photo edits done in just one week! I highly recommend booking Ryan Lam Photography for your wedding. We cannot wait to see how our wedding photos turn out in April.

We hired Ryan for our engagement and wedding photos, and we could not be happier with what we received. Ryan is incredibly easy to work with, and will work with any ideas and suggestions you send his way. If you think you'll be nervous in front of a camera, Ryan will definitely make you feel very comfortable at the end of your sessions. On the wedding day, we hardly noticed him around, but he and his team were doing hard work as shown in the amazing shots he sent us. We received our photos in a timely manner, and were blown away at the quality of shots. All in all, if you choose Ryan for any photography needs, you won't be disappointed!

Don't think twice, just do it! Ryan is incredible, especially if your style is simple, crisp, and clean shots. He is not "artsy" per se and cheesy is definitely not his thing. If you want classic, timeless pictures then go for him!

We booked Ryan for our graduation, engagement and wedding! Throughout it all, he was flexible, professional, great with communication and his artistic eye was superb. This review revolves mostly around the wedding (since it's most recent) but all things said apply to our engagement and graduation shoot as well.

I'll try to leave this succinct:

Punctual -- Ryan and his team were punctual at arriving at our wedding hotel! They were also punctual at arriving to the ceremony venue and the reception venue. And most importantly, without needing to keep an eye on him/team, they were right where the action was happening at all times. This was proved by the numerous pictures we received. Nothing was left out!

Ninja -- Ok, silly way of putting it but it's basically true. Ryan and Team would work like ninjas and be virtually invisible as they wove through the guests and vendors to take pictures during the wedding.

Professionalism -- Throughout our very hectic and very packed wedding, Ryan was calm and composed. This is very soothing when you're busy wondering if the wedding planner has everything under control. And as always, communication was always on point.

Good Eye & Style -- The pictures turned out beautiful! 10 hours, thousands of pictures to sort/edit and a good portion of them they were delivered with each picture as beautiful as the next 7 weeks later. ALL the pictures were top quality work. And most importantly (for me), the pictures told a story. I was able to re-live the day with the pictures taken. :)

We're very thankful we invested in Ryan Lam Photography for our graduation shoot, engagement shoot and for our Wedding Day. We'll now how great memories to keep with us. Thanks so much, Ryan + Team!

We found Ryan at a bridal expo and we were immediately drawn in by his smile and friendliness. Ryan listened to our ideas and recommended a package that would meet those needs. He was very understanding and responded quickly to all emails. We have a very busy schedule so we had to push back the engagement pictures many times, and he was totally ok with this. We finally took our pictures and Ryan calmed our nerves. We had a great photoshoot! We loved our pictures! We took them on a Monday in SF at City Hall, by Wednesday night I had all retouched images. Amazing turnaround time! We can't wait to have him take the pictures at the wedding!

We had our 10 years anniversary photos taken by Ryan in June, 2013. I had contacted many photographers but I am very glad that we chose Ryan. He is very responsive, patient, friendly, courteous, professional and most importantly, takes great photos. It was such a hot day but he suggested lots of nice poses at different scenes. The photos came out just GREAT. I would highly recommend Ryan for any photo needs.

Little more than a year after my wedding I am happy of the choices that I have made especially having Ryan lam as my photographer. He put me at ease n comfortable in his hands when it came to capturing the perfect moment.
