Wedding Photography in Alameda

I was fortunate to have met Akiko at a dear friend's wedding. The photos from their wedding were absolutely beautiful! My friend has continued to use Akiko since then for photos of her children. So when it was time to pick out a photographer for our wedding, there wasn't any question that it should be Akiko. Our wedding took place in Santa Barbara county, at our friend's home. She did such an amazing job capturing the outside beauty, and of course capturing our day. Her pictures showed emotions that are heartwarming to look at; the first time I looked at our proofs, it brought me to tears and it was absolutely wonderful to relive that day through her photos. I know that in years to come, I and others will look at our photos and see how much fun that day was. Thank you so very much, Akiko!

There are not enough amazing things I could say about working with Maurice. What initially attracted me to his work was his eye for dimension and lighting that bring so mooch more to his photos than posed, artificial feeling snaps. We did our "Lifestyle Session" aka engagement shoot with him and he really gave us the tools and feedback to make the photos not only amazing, but really captured the essence of who we are as a couple. If you love details, tips, and lots of open communication, you'll love working with Nina and Maurice. Disclaimer, I'm writing this review before he's even sent us the wedding photos themselves, but I am THAT confident that they'll be phenomenal. He knew exactly when to take charge and when to be invisible at the wedding and I can't wait to see the art he' produced!

It is extremely important that you like your wedding photographer because they will be with you all day. Regas is easy going, friendly, and a lot of fun to work with. Also, Regas has excellent attention to detail and touches up many of the photos just because he is so passionate about his work (most photographers charge big bucks for this as an added service). Afterward, we had pages of photos, and the album seemed like a daunting task. However, Regas gave us a first draft which was a great starting point. Plus he had a lot of neat artistic ideas for photo arrangements. Then he was extremely patient with us as we tweaked pretty much every page of the album. Plus, he has a lot of options for album copies that you can give to special family members. Regardless of who you go with, I highly recommend that you do an engagement photo shoot so you can get comfortable with your photographer before the big day.

We were thrilled with the photos Rudy took of our wedding. They turned out great! Rudy was very easy to work with and had lots of great ideas. We especially found his 'candid' shots to be exceptional. He really captured the evening and provided us with a way to always remember the night. Thanks Rudy! Zo S.

We worked with Sonya for our 2022 wedding and are so glad we found her. We did our engagement shoot at Lake Tahoe, a SF city hall shoot when we got our marriage license, and our wedding day in Half Moon Bay. Sonya was always professional and had a way of getting us to open up in front of the camera. As a couple new to professional photography, we appreciated how kind and relatable she was and how she could make us comfortable for the photos. Her photos are absolute works of art! We love each set of them and are so glad that we opted to have each set. If we had any feedback or questions, she was always happy to explain the technique and also take our requests to heart. If you’re wondering if you should get an engagement or other shoot before the wedding day, do it! It gives you and the photographer time to get to know each other and ensure the wedding day photos are exactly what you want. Sonya was so helpful in finding the right locations and light for shots. We were scoping out certain spots but then did day-of adjustments due to weather - she’s fantastic at finding the best spaces and light. Our city hall photos are spectacular- she knows that building inside and out and can make them phenomenal. We had lots of different spaces at our wedding venue and she found the shot in all of them. We loved all the photos from our shoots and are so glad we got a full wedding album. Sonya had excellent layout ideas for our album and was able to augment our selected photos for the best story and book possible. It’s one of our most treasured items. We would jump at the opportunity to work with Sonya again and if you’re thinking about booking with her- do it! She’s a true artist and professional and you won’t regret having her on your wedding team.

Wow!! Diana came highly recommended from a friend who used her as her wedding photographer. My husband and I just got married and couldn’t be happier with choosing Diana as well!! She was phenomenal. Although I was harder to reach, I loved that she really wanted to get to know me during the wedding planning process and was in constant communication. I loved her pictures on her website because she was unique and had a great eye that wasn’t too traditional and generic “just like everybody else’s.” She asked me all the right questions about what I liked and wanted without putting too much pressure on me since she is the professional. She was knowledgeable and organized and very patient us. The day of the wedding we couldn’t find our list of specific shots we wanted so she knew who to call up after the ceremony (ie: mom and dad, cousins, etc) and she didn’t panic at all and made me feel okay about stupidly forgetting it. She made it all work out smoothly. She’s from San Francisco and came out with another photographer so neither knew the area at all. They took the time to scope out the area and find the perfect shots for both sides of the wedding party. It was so much fun and I can’t wait to see all the shots! The photographers never stopped taking pictures and I know captured some awesome “candid” moments that will be way better than just standing there and posing. Of course we still did the traditional shots but she exceeded our expectations by capturing “us” in the other photos! Diana also snuck my husband and I out of the reception to take some amazing sunset photos. It was awesome to be able to take a moment of just us! Diana sent us a sneak peak of some of the pictures and they are SO INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait to see the rest! I highly recommend her for her suburb professionalism and talents!! We are so grateful for her services. You won’t regret your decision in hiring her!

Joy was the best photographer for our wedding! From the first time we met her, we knew we could completely trust her to run the show without worry. She did a fantastic job, brought incredible assistants, and we didn't even notice them there throughout the day. The finished product is absolutely gorgeous and gives us so much JOY looking through our album and photos. We will absolutely use Joy again for future family events!

Scott and team truly are as good as it gets when it comes to capturing your event through photography, and we highly recommend them! We hired Scott and team to shoot our engagement and wedding; we love their pictures and truly enjoyed working and communicating with them. They were very flexible and understanding of our wedding schedule, and accommodated all our photo and location requests throughout our sessions! Regarding the photobooth itself: it was easy for us to customize our backdrops and photo templates. Our guests had lots of fun with the excellent quality photobooth, which is about all you can ask for - we just wish more guests knew about it! I could go on and on, but to keep it short: Scott and team are professional, reliable, experienced, and a pleasure to work with. We trusted them to capture the most important event in our lives, and would not hesitate in recommending or working with them again!

We hired Jack for our August 2024 wedding after finding him on our venue’s vendor preferred list, and we were beyond impressed with his work after our first consultation! From the start, Jack was incredibly engaging and communicative. He responded quickly to all of our questions (along with providing tips we didn’t consider)—even after we booked him—and made the planning process so much smoother. His experience as a photographer, combined with his excellent people skills, really stood out. Booking him was easy and we appreciated his detailed and informative website. He does offer many different services as well! After our initial meeting, Jack scheduled several follow-up meetings to get to know us better and understand our wedding day vision. He was always punctual and well-prepared, which gave us so much confidence in his professionalism. Working with Jack was a breeze. He made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and demonstrated a deep understanding of photography. We especially appreciated his versatility—he’s skilled in capturing both classic wedding shots and more technical, artistic compositions. As one of us has a background in photography (albeit landscape), his expertise was particularly impressive. We opted for Jack’s premium package, which included a second shooter, a lighting assistant, and additional perks. This turned out to be a great decision, as it ensured every detail of the day was captured beautifully. Weddings can be stressful, but Jack handled every challenge with calm professionalism. For example, during the post-ceremony family photos, there were a lot of people to organize, and things got a bit chaotic. Jack stayed composed, managed the crowd, and made sure every shot my parents requested was taken. He even found time to capture photos with all our guest tables by having them come to us, despite us running slightly behind schedule. The quality of the photos was outstanding. Every shot was sharp, well-lit, and edited with care. Jack’s background as a sports photographer really shone through—he captured candid moments and emotions effortlessly, maintaining consistent quality from the ceremony to the reception and dancing. We were thrilled to receive the final photos earlier than expected, just five weeks after the wedding. The collection included a fantastic mix of detail shots, candids, and posed portraits. The editing was flawless, with a natural and polished look. Overall, we couldn’t recommend Jack enough! His creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail made him the perfect choice for our wedding.

Christy was recommended to us by a friend who has worked with her a number of times. After our initial call, I knew that we wanted to work with Christy. She was so friendly, organized, and you could tell it was important to her to help get her clients everything they were looking for. We first had our engagement photo shoot and it turned out beautifully. For us, it was awkward to be photographed, but with Christy's friendliness, "what to expect" booklet, and direction they turned out beautifully. In preparing for the wedding, Christy and I chatted quarterly and in the months leading up to the wedding, she shared a comprehensive wedding booklet. This booklet was super helpful in making decisions around the timeline, whether to do a first look (she convinced me we should and boy was she right), and many more things. On the day of the wedding, Christy was prompt, decisive in her locations, direction, and needs. As we were shooting the family photos, things got a bit hectic in keeping people there, but Christy maintained her professionalism, kept to the timeline and shot list, and continued to see through what we had envisioned. Overall, the photos turned out beautifully and they were so fun to go through, share with family and friends, and captured everything the day meant to us. I highly recommend working with Christy and am so thankful to her.
