We recommend Amanda Wei Photography and her entire team - Rachel, Eliza, and additional team members like Esme. We worked with them for 3 different events - our engagement photos, small intimate City Hall ceremony, and actual wedding. They were very attentive in understanding all of our needs and requests, and even though we are generally not photogenic at all, they took the time and care to make us look good and really celebrate what we wanted. For the engagement photos, we took them in a part of SF that was not the usual engagement photos (e.g., Golden Gate Bridge, Lover's Lane) because we wanted it to feature distinct parts of our lives in SF, and Rachel was very willing to work with us on that, and did a great, great job customizing a plan for our 3-hour engagement photo session. For our wedding, we made it a real priority to make sure we had lots of group photos and shots of our guests and things like that - and they were very understanding of that, and customized their attention to what we asked for. We got so many comments from our parents, our guests and friends, that Amanda and team were awesome, fun to be around (kind of like bonus wedding guests!) and Amanda speaks some Chinese so that actually helped a ton. Regarding price - yes, wedding photos are expensive. But so is the entire ordeal. And when we added up all our costs and tracked against our budget, we found that photography from Amanda Wei Photography was well worth it for all of the photos that we can share with our family and friends, not just of us, but of everyone in our lives we were celebrating with. Amanda and team made them all look good and that's been great feedback from our friends that they've loved how we featured everyone in the wedding, not just us. Loved, loved, loved working with Carmen. I'm an awkward subject to photograph, and worried about finding a photographer I'd feel comfortable with. Carmen was that and more. She was organized & professional, and made me feel at ease. She gave me suggestions for posing, and that was a huge help too. What i loved the most about her photos was how she manages to capture the essence of a day--the mood, really. Her candids are wonderful, and she works so well with lighting to give you a great result. We just got our photos back recently, and couldn't be more thrilled with them. She managed to capture the details that even alluded me that day (in the craze of everything), so I'm really grateful to have the photos to take me through my day. She's a little expensive, but worth it.

Meera Fox photographed my wedding this year and I was so lucky to have chosen her to do the job. My ceremony happened at sunrise and Meera was there to get every magical second of it. Then she stayed with me all day and all night until the last guest left the reception. If you are going to have a photographer by your side on the most important day of your life every minute of that day, it needs to be someone whose presence adds to the occasion and empowers you, without changing the vibe of the event. Meera was perfect in this way. It felt like she had my back no matter what we were doing. She was simply there, doing her job the whole time, but she was making everything feel special and making me feel beautiful and calm. The photos she took at my reception were epic! I had the quirky idea to do an old fashioned formal portraiture look where everyone was serious in the photos, just like they used to do in the olden days when people had to hold still for a long time to have their portraits taken, so no one smiled. Trying not to smile of course made everyone feel very silly, so Meera got serious and then funny ones of each group. I loved them all. Then Meera also roamed around the party all evening taking her famous candid shots of all the guests partying and having fun. These are moments I will always treasure and she documented everything so thoroughly. I can't wait now to have a baby because I want Meera Fox Photography to take baby portraits for me! Meera Fox has done a modeling shoot with my husband and he looks so amazing in the photos. I love her retro aesthetic and her technical rigor. As a professional photographer myself I am extremely choosy about who I hire to do photographs for me and of me. Meera Fox Photography is the best of them all.

We were referred to Cindi by the Auberge du Soleil, in Napa Valley, as a trusted photographer in the area. As we reviewed her work online, we were immediately struck by the way Cindi's images draw you into the moment. Her gift is capturing a natural, relaxed, and unposed image that makes you feel like you're right there. From the moment we selected Two Irises to photograph our wedding, we were impressed with Cindi's professionalism, her friendly good nature, and her willingness to flex with our shifting plans. In addition to her photographic talent, she was also a consummate business professional who delivered an end to end experience that we cannot recommend highly enough. She was the most gracious and kind individual that we had the pleasure to work with and we could not be happier with the end result. Our memories of our most special day will forever be viewed through her lens and will allow our family and friends to relive a moment in time that we will treasure forever.

We used Wild About You for our wedding a few weeks ago, and we are SO happy we did. First off, they were amazing to communicate with throughout the entire process. We had a long, complicated day planned, and they rolled with it. Since they hadn’t been before, Lily came with us to do a site visit to our two venues. We had lots of discussions with her on what we were looking to capture, and she gave amazing recommendations on making our tight timeline work. They were awesome to go around with on the wedding day. On top of their creative vision, they removed stress and we had lots of laughs with them. Within days, they gave us the first set of shots. We were absolutely blown away. It was everything we hoped for and more. We cannot wait to see the full set! If you’re on the fence, stop here and just book them!

Ari was recommended by a friend. We were looking for someone whose charges were reasonable for a wedding at our home. He met with us twice before the wedding, once just to check on the lighting at the time of the wedding. He got an excellent combination of posed and candid shots along with some beautifully artistic ones. He was unobtrusive but still seemed to get all the necessary shots. We were very happy with his services. He charged a flat rates for his time and gave us a DVD to with as we pleased.

My wife and I had a great experience working with Dianne as our wedding photographer last October. From the day I met her at a wedding fair with 8 months to go, all the way through post-wedding editing and photo selection, she was consistently positive, warm, and a smiling presence. My wife came from overseas and there were long-distance Skype calls to set up, and both the ceremony and reception locations posed challenges as far as lighting and space to work, and she was a trooper. Her photo style resonated with me immediately--her pictures tend to be more natural and casual than a lot of wedding pictures I've seen and we really liked that. She also asked for a lot of input on our ideas for pictures--we felt like we were partners with her, not like one of us was the "boss". We also had our engagement photo session with her and after our initial bout of camera-shyness, we had a great time and were happy with those pictures too. If you'd like your wedding photographer to be warm, down-to-earth, and a great picture-taker, you can't go wrong working with Dianne!

We cannot say enough amazing things about Priscilla and her amazing photography skills! From the very first conversation, she went above and beyond to help us plan every detail of our day, making sure it was exactly what we dreamed of. She even drove an hour out of her way to pick up my flowers so I could have them on my special day—something I’ll never forget and am so grateful for. We spent the day together on an 8-mile hike, laughing, sharing stories, and just enjoying the adventure. They were the perfect company—fun, kind, and supportive—while still capturing the most incredible photos that we will treasure for a lifetime. I will forever be grateful for those trekking poles! Her talent behind the camera is unmatched, but what really makes her special is the heart and care she pours into every part of the experience. She didn’t just photograph our elopement; she made it unforgettable. We are so grateful we got to spend our day with her and Seth, and we would recommend them to absolutely anyone looking for not only breathtaking photos but also the best possible elopement experience! I am blown away by our photos and feel so lucky that I get to cherish them forever!

Michael did an amazing job. We had to significantly change our wedding plans due to COVID and having a beautiful video that we were able to share with our family and friends was really important. I was especially impressed by how cool the drone footage is. Michael has a lot of tools to be able to produce a wide range of footage, and the expertise to use them well. He paid really fine attention to detail when it came to putting the video together. The cuts and multiple angles were seamlessly stitched together. Would highly recommend!

Matt Wong is AMAZING. My boyfriend and I had a photography session with him and it was absolutely amazing. Matt took us to a beautiful site in Northern Berkeley and took priceless photographs of us. If you are thinking about hiring him or scheduling a photo session, you should definitely do it. He can capture the best in people. Matt guided us when needed but he made things pretty effortless. I can see he wanted to capture us in our natural state and he definitely succeeded. My boyfriend and I talked to each other while taking some pictures and they came out beautiful. I am so excited to refer him to my friends and family. This is definitely a number I am holding on to. I am eternally grateful and his great work will be framed for years to come.
