5 stars simply aren't enough for Alex and her team at Petals & Roots! So much of wedding planning can feel stressful and cumbersome, but not my floral consultation! I had so much fun chatting with Alex about our vision, who was extremely knowledgable about unique/seasonal flowers and greenery. She captured the vibe we discussed perfectly and our guests couldn't stop gushing over her work. You can tell after 2 minutes of speaking with her that she is absolutely in love with her work and is genuinely so excited to be a part of your big day - it's such a lovely quality that you don't get from every vendors!

I can't recommend P&R enough for literally any special event, they will blow you away. Though it's true that wedding florals aren't cheap, I felt P&R were completely worth what we budgeted for because of the incredible quality of the florals and their willingness to completely customize anything you like.

We are honestly speechless with how perfect of a human Alex from Petals & Roots is and how beautifully she brought our vision to life for our wedding in September 2023. As a same-sex couple, Alex made us feel nothing but loved and accepted from the very beginning. Wedding florals were initially not a top priority for us but we're so happy to have found Alex as she made our wedding absolutely STUNNING. Everything from our initial conversation to the million questions we asked along the way, the entire process was stressfree and Alex provided us with patience and total clarity on all of our questions/concerns both via email and over the phone. We knew which types of flowers we wanted but Alex also recommended others based on what was in season and the color palette we wanted, which was fun and bright. Petal & Roots pricing is competitive with other Tri-State floral vendors, however, we discussed our budget constraints with Alex and she was accommodating, working with us to create solutions without jeopardizing our vision. Her team was also amazing, setting up everything so efficiently before the ceremony and staying throughout the cocktail hour to make sure all the reception items were set up perfectly. When Alex arrived with our personals to the bridal suite, we were literally in tears seeing how beautifully she brought our vision to life, and meeting her was like seeing an old friend. We cannot recommend Alex and her team highly enough, and we will be forever grateful to have had her as part of our wedding day!

Our coordinator Stacey connected us with Petals & Roots after many conversations between my wife and I about flowers. We couldn't be happier with the results that Alex and her team delivered. We do not have much knowledge about flowers, and we needed a lot of guidance. Alex was very helpful throughout this whole process and really made great suggestions. Alex and her team made our vision come to life. We had a ceremony arch built and our guests were absolutely in awe!

Where do I start? We had met Alex & Peter a few years ago walking around Astoria just checking out local stores. Right away when we walked in she and Peter were so welcoming and sweet. We always made it a thing that if we were around the area we always stop by to say hello. I remember when we had moved to the city I had thought about, oh no we won't be able to stop by the store as often. That was a thought I had. Anyways fast forward got engaged 2018, we had first planned our date to be in 2020. Covid pushed it not just once but twice. However being super type-a I had to make sure each and every vendor I looked at was the best of the best. I knew I was going to take a look at florists last just because I knew it would be one that would take me awhile. Then it hit me, why not just work with Alex, she knows us so well. I was so anxious about picking the right florist, when I had the right florist in front of me the whole time. We quickly set a call for the next day. Because I am a super procrastinator, this was about 1.5 months before our wedding date. She got everything together, asked all the right questions and came back with a quote. We were super happy. When she asked about details of the wedding I just kept saying, I trust her vision. I know her work and how she has an eye for anything involving flowers. I felt like I was working with the right team. Each time people ask I would say I do not know if I am more excited for our venue, band, photographer or florist. Each vendor was just so perfect. Back to the flowers..it was about two weeks before and I had come up as cheesy as it was a Bridgeton vibe/pastel pinterest board for her. Wow, can I say when we were there for rehearsal and I saw the flowers for the first time. My jaw dropped, she went beyond what I was aiming for and I knew she would. She was super flexible and always will to hear out any suggestions. I wish I had stopped to talk to the team but they executed everything so effortlessly. As much as I say I do not want to plan another wedding, if I had to for renewals, she be the first I call again without a doubt. She made my wedding floral dreams come true!

Still swooning over our STUNNING wedding flowers!! Alex is so warm, accommodating, and great to work with. We had to postpone our wedding due to covid, and Alex kept us so calm during such a chaotic time. We are so grateful to Alex and her team for making our wedding dreams a reality!

Alex at Petals&Roots was so amazing to work with and made the most gorgeous bouquets and table settings! Our wedding was at Liberty Warehouse in BK and she nailed the simple romantic feel we were going for as well as the coloring to blend with the bridesmaid dresses. Look no further for a florist!!!!!

Alex is the absolute sweetest! She is so fun to work with and so detailed. She really gets to know you and she has a demeanor that feels like you’ve known her forever. The florist was the most difficult vendor for me to hire but after speaking with Alex once, there was no question. The arrangements for the wedding were absolutely stunning. Highly recommend petals & roots!

If you are planning a wedding, look no further. Alex and her team elevated the beauty of the entire day, and my daughter and I were blown away with all of the gorgeous arrangements - the bouquet, centerpieces, wedding arch - every single arrangement was truly a work of art; so lush, varied, and the perfect combination of flowers. I am not exaggerating when I say that everyone I spoke with that weekend raved about the flowers and said how perfect they were. In addition, Alex was such a joy to work with - prompt and pleasant communication, and we could really tell that she listened to every suggestion and had great follow-up questions and ideas. A good portion of my youth was spent in a flower shop as my mother was a florist and our family once owned a shop, so the flowers were really important to me. I just kept thinking how pleased my mother would have been with everything. Thanks so much, Alex!!

I order my wedding bouquet from Petals and Roots and it was hands down the easiest part of wedding planning. I told Alex a bit about what I wanted and how much I wanted to spend and she told me to go home, relax and pick it up the night before the wedding... I did exactly that and couldn’t be any happier with the result! It was simply gorgeous, the style I wanted (even though I think I didn’t even know exactly what I wanted until I saw it) and was a great value! I would absolutely shop there again for any of my future flower needs. The flowers lasted all day and even looked great the morning after the wedding. I’m now pressing them to turn into a keepsake. Alex and team took our fairly broad vision and brought it together with the perfect color combinations while including any specific flowers we requested. Our bridal party bouquets were absolutely gorgeous and tasteful. We got many compliments on the arrangements. We would definitely recommend Petals & Roots!
