Patapsco Female Institute Historic Park is an outdoor, stabilized ruin of a former Victorian-era all-girls school. Prior to becoming a wedding venue, this building served as a summer resort hotel for wealthy Baltimore residents, a private estate, and Maryland’s first summer stock theatre. From the 1950s to the 1960s this building sat vacant, which led it to deteriorate into what remains today, a stabilized ruin. Architect Robert Cary Long, Jr. designed the school.

Beautiful and Accommodating Venue!
Patapsco Female Institute (PFI) was the perfect wedding venue for my now husband and I! We got married on September 23, 2018. Our coordinator, Allison, was incredibly helpful and was always quick to respond. I remember asking so many questions, especially as the day got closer, but Allison never minded and helped calm my nerves about the details. It ended up raining on our wedding day, but even as an outdoor venue, PFI was still incredibly accommodating and helped us work out the details of extra tent rentals, parking ,etc. on the day of the wedding. They allowed our shuttle drivers to pull up as close as possible to the tents in order to keep our guests dry! You can also visit PFI any weekend during public visitation hours which was SO helpful instead of having to make continuous appointments. I went multiple weekends to iron out details of where tables would sit, where guests would walk, where to put a welcome sign, you name it. There was always a staff member there on the weekends happy to help!Sent on 01/30/2019
Would highly recommend and would choose PFI all over again!!!

Wonderful Location for my Ceremony
We worked with two people leading up to our wedding. Both were quick to answer all emails and questions. Our wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful. We held it outside in the grassy area. I would definitely recommend couples to check out the Patapsco Female Institute!Sent on 01/29/2019

My husband and I highly recommend this venue. Our wedding was absolutely amazing in large part due to this venue. We looked forever for a venue and they were all either overpriced or had too many requirements in terms of what vendors could be used, etc. patapsco female institute was amazingly flexible. They handled everything so well. Our wedding date coincided with an event in historic Ellicott city which could have been a nightmare, but they sorted everything out and it turned out wonderfully. Every single person in attandence said how amazingly special the venue was and how it was the most fun wedding they have been to. My favorite part of the venue is that it’s its own decoration. We decorated minimally with greenery, candles and uplighting and it was stunning. It can seem a bit overwhelming because it’s starting from the ground up in terms of vendors since there isn’t much on the property, but they give you a list of previously used vendors. They answer questions quickly and work with your vendors on making things work. We had a food truck and they quickly gave us measurements for the gate to make sure it would fit, etc. I really recommend this venue.
