About
Westminster Hall is a beautiful historic building located at the intersection of Greene and Fayette Streets in downtown Baltimore. The exterior of the Hall retains its early Gothic Revival appearance and the interior is a blend of the old and new with a tiered stage, elegant stained glass windows, balconies, a fully restored 1882 Johnson pipe organ, dressing room for weddings, a service kitchen, and plenty of room for all kinds of celebrations! The Hall can accommodate up to 250 guests, but is still intimate enough for a group as small as 50. Both your Wedding Ceremony and Reception can be conveniently held in our beautiful Hall – in this case the Hall can comfortably accommodate up to 175 people, including the Bridal Party.
History of the Building and Grounds: Westminster Hall, formerly Westminster Presbyterian Church, was completed in 1852 - more than 60 years after the Westminster Burying Grounds were established. The Burying Grounds are the final resting place of many famous people, including Edgar Allan Poe, General Sam Smith, and General James McHenry, not to mention many other important figures essential to the founding of both Baltimore and the United States. To avoid disturbing the existing graves, the original church building was constructed on brick piers above some of the tombs, creating catacombs, which can be toured by visitors. The church’s congregation disbanded in 1977 and the Westminster Preservation Trust, Inc., a non-profit organization, was established to take care of the building and the grounds. The Trust was able to raise more than $1.7 million for the renovation of the building, which was completed in 1983. The renovated building is now used as a rental facility and is the perfect place to hold a unique and memorable event!

Reviews of Westminster Hall

Professional Network & Endorsements

Westminster Hall is a beautiful place for receptions and ceremonies. The old brick walls, the ability to get higher vantage points and the beautiful facade all make it one of my favorite locations to photograph brides and grooms.

Oracle Band has performed at Westminster Hall on three occasions. In each instance the staff there were professional and efficient, working hard to ensure the B&G have the reception they envisioned. That the setting there is spectacular goes without saying. While you're there, ask about a tour of the catacombs! Really cool!
