Westminster Hall is a beautiful historic building located at the intersection of Greene and Fayette Streets in downtown Baltimore. The exterior of the Hall retains its early Gothic Revival appearance and the interior is a blend of the old and new with a tiered stage, elegant stained glass windows, balconies, a fully restored 1882 Johnson pipe organ, dressing room for weddings, a service kitchen, and plenty of room for all kinds of celebrations! The Hall can accommodate up to 250 guests, but is still intimate enough for a group as small as 50. Both your Wedding Ceremony and Reception can be conveniently held in our beautiful Hall - in this case the Hall can comfortably accommodate up to 175 people, including the Bridal Party.
History of the Building and Grounds: Westminster Hall, formerly Westminster Presbyterian Church, was completed in 1852 - more than 60 years after the Westminster Burying Grounds were established. The Burying Grounds are the final resting place of many famous people, including Edgar Allan Poe, General Sam Smith, and General James McHenry, not to mention many other important figures essential to the founding of both Baltimore and the United States. To avoid disturbing the existing graves, the original church building was constructed on brick piers above some of the tombs, creating catacombs, which can be toured by visitors. The church's congregation disbanded in 1977 and the Westminster Preservation Trust, Inc., a non-profit organization, was established to take care of the building and the grounds. The Trust was able to raise more than $1.7 million for the renovation of the building, which was completed in 1983. The renovated building is now used as a rental facility and is the perfect place to hold a unique and memorable event!

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception for our 11/11/17 wedding at Westminster Hall and it was more perfect than I ever could have imagined. We had a Harry Potter themed wedding and the space seriously felt like Hogwarts. The staff at Westminster Hall were always a pleasure to work with and the price of the venue was so reasonable. We had about 100 guests and the size of the space worked out perfectly. The organ inside is so beautiful and outside (especially the graveyard!) was gorgeous for pictures. One of the greatest parts of the night was that they provided tour guides and allowed our guests to do tours of the catacombs during the cocktail hour - everyone loved it! If you're looking for a venue with a little Baltimore history and an amazing atmosphere, you should definitely check out Westminster Hall!Sent on 06/21/2018

We held our wedding ceremony at Westminster Hall. It seems like it is a well-kept secret - we were SO lucky that it was available on our date when we booked it about 6 months prior. It's an absolutely BEAUTIFUL space where you can create whatever kind of ceremony you want, since there is freedom from any religious rules etc. We had both a Catholic priest and a humanist minister officiating our wedding and Westminster Hall was the perfect space for us.Sent on 08/06/2016

Westminster Hall was the perfect setting for our wedding. I really wanted to get married in a church and this place was gorgeous. My husband and I stumbled across this place one afternoon after visiting Edgar Allen Poe's gravesite. We saw that they were taking tables inside the church and we peeked around to see the interior. It was breath taking. The staff was so wonderful to work with and very accommodating. There is a list of rules to follow when you rent this place, but the staff of Westminster Hall were very eager and helpful in finding solutions for your needs and still keep the integrity of this historic building. We opted for the organist to play for our ceremony. It was an additional expense but totally worth it. The music bellowing from those pipes gave me chills as I walked down the aisle. We also opted for the tour guide to show our guests the grounds and the catacombs during our cocktail hour. They loved it! They thought it was really great and they were so excited to hear about the history of the permanent members who reside there. Mary Jo and her staff were so wonderful, professional and genuinely happy for us. Would I get married there again? In a heartbeat!Sent on 02/28/2016
Westminster Hall is a beautiful place for receptions and ceremonies. The old brick walls, the ability to get higher vantage points and the beautiful facade all make it one of my favorite locations to photograph brides and grooms.
Oracle Band has performed at Westminster Hall on three occasions. In each instance the staff there were professional and efficient, working hard to ensure the B&G have the reception they envisioned. That the setting there is spectacular goes without saying. While you're there, ask about a tour of the catacombs! Really cool!
