About

Oliver's Carriage House was built in 1811 and served as the barn and stables for a large private estate in Howard County, Maryland. Since the mid-1970s, it has been the home of Kittamaqundi Community Church, an ecumenical Christian community in the heart of Columbia's Town Center village.

Inside our building, you'll find the original stone walls, exposed wooden beams and a grand fireplace. Outside, the tree-lined grounds, colorful gardens and landscaped brick patio add to its historic charm.

We think the Carriage House will impress your guests and add a touch of enchantment to your special day!

Such a great venue

Deciding to have my wedding at the Carriage House was one of the best decisions I made. Ms. Sandy was great in getting back to me in a time fashion and allowed me to make as many stops to the venue as I needed to make sure that my vision could come to life. She also stepped in last minute and officated the ceremony which was amazing. Being able to get the keys the day before the event to set up took a lot of stress off of myself and my coordiator. It is such a beautiful venue with endless possibilites. I would love to host another even there in the future.

Historic gem

This is the perfect venue for the couple who want a venue with lots of character and flexibility. The historic space for the reception is so pretty and intimate. We held our outdoor ceremony in the charming back lawn surrounded by pretty landscaping with the gorgeous stone building in the background. Kathy was our contact and extremely helpful throughout the planning process, but there is no venue attendant or coordinator the day of but it worked for us since we had lots of help to keep the day running smoothly. It was fun to be handed the keys and having the independence to make everything our own. The whole night and after we've heard so many compliments about Oliver's Carriage House and are so happy we chose it as our venue.

I could not have chosen a better venue. Everyone I worked with was awesome and the building and grounds are stunning.

We feel really lucky we found this venue! It's beautiful and the price is completely reasonable as far as wedding venues go. I also liked that they listed the availability right on their website -- no emailing and hoping to hear back that they have a date free! It's a great space for a smaller wedding -- we were nearly at their limit with 110 people total, and we did have to take up some tables to make the dance floor bigger. But the whole place has a great feel and is historic and gorgeous. Plus, Bob, the rental coordinator, was so helpful and easygoing about everything. My only minor complaint is that it did take a while to hear back when we first emailed (not sure how often they check the general email account) but once we started contacting Bob directly, communication was great. I would highly, highly recommend Oliver's Carriage House!

I loved this venue! the outdoor space is gorgeous. We got married under their gazebo, which is beautiful and did not need any decorations added (although you could). We loved the feel of the venue, it has two floors and a loft. We got some great pictures from above. The feel of our wedding was fairly casual and the stone walls, wood pillars, and former stables made it feel homey and rustic. They were great in allowing me to comeback to look at things one last time a few weeks before the wedding, they do sometimes take a day or two to email back, but everyone was so kind and accommodating. We paid $3,000 and they allowed us the building on Friday night so we were able to have our rehearsal dinner there (we catered in and there are lots of local options because of it's prime location) so we saved money on that. The only thing to know going in is that they only allow beer, wine, and champagne (preferred by us as we did not want people to get sloppy and we are not huge drinkers). Also, we did a DIY wedding. They do not have a coordinator on site so you will decorate, buy the beer and wine (Costco), set up and clean up everything yourself. This worked well for us and saved a TON of money. They say the average wedding is $30,000, but we kept our budget around $10,000 thanks to the beautiful venue and our ability to piece things together ourselves.

We booked this venue for our November 2016 wedding. The Volunteer coordinator helping us (Bob), was very flexible, professional, and able to answer all of our questions. We were able to tour at a time that worked for us, and he is very responsive in email as well. We are so excited to use this venue!!
