About this venue

Historic Waverly Mansion is a charming early 18th Century home, built circa 1756, which sits on four pristine acres and includes a barn (exterior use only), gated garden, patio, and seasonal tent in Marriottsville, MD. It is the sole surviving property of Maryland’s only father/son governors: Colonel John Eager Howard (the County's namesake) and George Howard. Owned by Howard County Government, it is rented as a wedding and special events venue.

During peak rental season (April – October), our gorgeous 40’ X 60’ tent can host 125 guests with a dance floor (not included). The patio and first floor of the manor are ADA-compliant. The interior of the manor can accommodate 50 guests between the dining room and parlor on the first floor. There are three restrooms inside the manor and a restroom trailer on the property which includes an ADA-compliant stall.

Looking to host your wedding or special event at the mansion? While, the event tent is removed in November, the home is available exclusively to rent for indoor events from November - March. Rental tours and site visits are offered on select days by appointment only.
