When planning our wedding, my husband and I were looking for something that was beautiful and EASY, and we found exactly that with Marina Village. We planned a wedding for April 2020 at Marina Village in the Bay View room, and had a wonderful experience with planning. Pricing and requirements were completely up front and transparent, and the staff were a delight to work with. The rules around timing, vendors, and on-site restrictions are beyond generous, and gave us the freedom and flexibility to really have a wedding that was exactly what we wanted but easily stay within our budget. AND it's BYOB (with insured bartender), which is so hard to find in San Diego! AAAND they offer free overnight parking for guests, and a 15% discount on room blocks at The Dana down the street.

Unfortunately due to the county-wide lockdown for COVID-19 two weeks before our wedding, we had to completely cancel all of our plans last minute. Marina Village was not only completely open in communication and empathetic in a time that must have been so difficult for their business, but they also gave us a 100% refund even though we had already paid in full. They did not have to be this gracious and understanding, and plenty of other wedding vendors/venues did not respond in the same manner.

We want to thank the entire staff at Marina Village for being so wonderful to us throughout the entire planning process. We ended up eloping, but we hope to hire Marina Village again for many celebrations to come, and will recommend them with the highest regards to all of our friends.

I’m writing this one year after my wedding and it’s definitely overdue. Of all the rooms owned by Marina Village, the Bayview is the best. We checked all the rooms on the property and felt this one worked best for our theme.
We went with a tropical and country theme.
Does that work? Yes, yes it does.

The room accommodates up to 250 guests and includes conference chairs and tables. Our guest count was only 60 plus the vendors.
We did not use the loft for anything other than the staging area for the wedding party. After our ceremony on the North lawn, also booked through Marina Village, we entered from the back of the Bayview room and immediately went upstairs. The allowed the wedding party a little break, a little food and beverage, and a little conversation, before taking the main stairs down to the first floor as our grand entrance.
The loft has restrooms so you can change or freshen up before jumping back into the festivities.
We had a few guests using walkers or canes and they always appreciate the ample space. A larger room works. Plenty of space for the welcome table, dessert table, dj setup, and photobooth. We had photo array photobooth which needed more space than the traditional due to the multiple camera setup. We used the wall of the staircase as the backdrop and added a balloon arch. I added an image of my first draft floor plan so you can get an idea.
Marina Village also offers two reception sites, South Lawn and North Lawn.
We chose the North lawn though it was a farther trek to the reception.
We felt the North lawn had the better backdrop of the marina and less noise from the traffic. Downside is the dumpster location to the side. There is a space housing the dumpster with a door but the door always seems to be open.
Just make sure to have guest chairs positioned at an angle so that it’s out of their peripheral view. I’m sure the set up crew already knows but make sure your coordinator keeps an eye out for that!

We used Ranch Events for catering, bartender, and floral. All the additional tables, barrels, furniture was rented though Ranch Events. We also decided to use white chairs and rented those through them as well. I believe Marina Village also offered rentals ( tables only, I think) but I believe the selection was limited.
Ranch Events is also located on the property but separate from Marina Village. It made things easy. A one stop shop. I recommend working with both to save time, energy, and.. money!

Words can't describe how perfect our wedding day was all thanks to the Marina Village! My now husband and I have always loved the ocean and they offer you the opportunity to say I Do right next to the water on their beautiful Marina and their reception room options are amazing! Our reception was held in the Marine Room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ocean and romantic chandeliers over the dance floor... Brides it was to die for! They give you the wedding of your dreams for the best price available and they make the entire process as smooth as possible! I would recommend to everyone to take a tour of the Marina Village I promise you will regret it if you don't!

My wedding will be on October 5, 2019. So far the staff has been great and food tasting was delicious. I’m looking forward to my big day to come. I will be having 100 guests.

We looked at a lot of venues and we chose Marina Village and are happy that we did. Everything was perfect! The staff was very helpful and the venue was beautiful. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish. I would highly recommend Marina Village for your event.

I really liked having the changing room next to the office it really helped. Rosalind was professional all the way. We had our wedding at the Bay View room and ceremony at the north lawn. Catering by Ranch events also located at Marina Village.

Marina Village was the perfect combination of flexibility, affordability, and experience. We loved being able to have an external caterer as well as being able to purchase, bring, and take home our alcohol. At the same time, their many years of experience and strong relationships with vendors made some of the finer details much easier. We had our reception in the Sunset Room and it was so nice having lighting (Pedro), decor and rentals (Ranch Events) onsite. Definitely would recommend to those who want to customize their event a bit.
