Christin and Ashe were amazing to work with! I searched hard to find a hair and makeup team in the Santa Barbara area that showed a true range of diversity on their websites. I was honored to be able to find and hire a Black-owned, women-owned, queer-owned team! I did a hair and makeup trial before my wedding and loved the look, but it didn’t hold up as well as I would have liked. I sent Christin and Ashe pictures and feedback, and they NAILED IT on my wedding day! They really took everything I said into consideration, and the result was amazing! More perfect that I could have imagined! They are true artists. Very friendly and fun to work with. Highly recommend.

There are truly not enough words to describe how wonderful Ashley and Christin are. I was blown away with their professionalism, kindness, expertise, and efficiencies. Both of them instantly got it when sharing the hair and makeup I was hoping to achieve and were able to accomplish it in 45ish minutes due to their vast experience allowing them to be more efficient. Better than that though, sitting in their chair and being with them felt like I was taking "me time" right before our ceremony and squashed any stress from what else needed to be done that day. We hired Ashley and Christin of Lunabella Hair and Makeup for our Santa Barbara Historical Museum wedding in April 2018. With a wide range of skin tones among my bridal party, mother, and mother-in-law, it was a priority for me to choose hair and makeup artists experienced in working with all kinds of beauty. It was also important to me to select artists skilled at enhancing one’s features for a lovely, natural look. Though Lunabella services are certainly not inexpensive, hiring their team was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made!

On the day of our wedding, Ashley and Christin provided makeup services to my six bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law. Ashley did my bridal makeup and Christin my hair. Our morning of getting ready in the bridal suite of the Historical Museum could not have gone better. Ashley and Christin were incredibly kind, attentive, personable, and encouraging to each woman in our group – all while remaining exactly on schedule, despite their assistant not being able to make it to the venue that day. Every woman was thrilled with the results of her makeup – they each looked stunning, with fresh, natural makeup that lasted all day. My mother and mother-in-law were very hesitant to have their makeup done (this was the first time for both), but they ended up loving the results. Ashley and Christin also helped me to feel comfortable and relaxed over the course of the morning. I felt I was in the hands of two old friends! And I was absolutely thrilled with their bridal hair and makeup: Ashley’s makeup was just the fresh, natural, glowing look I had requested, and Christin’s braided half-up/curled half-down hairstyle was gorgeous. I had never felt more beautiful or more myself and received numerous compliments over the course of the day. My hair and makeup lasted from the morning through our after-party and late-night tacos.

I cannot recommend enough the Lunabella team for wedding hair and makeup. They are absolutely amazing!

I cannot say enough good things about LunaBella. They are truly the best. They did my hair and makeup for the rehearsal dinner and wedding. The entire experience was great from the first trial to the wedding day and everything In between. My hair and makeup was flawless and lasted all night long. My entire bridal party looked stunning and we all had so much fun getting ready. Ashley and Christin are not only talented artists but they are upbeat, flexible, organized, and make you feel so special. I highly recommend them for any event.

Christin and Ashley are a wonderful team of artist to work with. My wife and I recently married in Solvang, CA in June 2015. They traveled to us to do hair and make-up for a mother of the bride, grandmother and of course, the brides. Everyone looked and felt amazing. We had a trial run months before the wedding and we knew they were the ones! I have curly hair and am very picky about who does my hair because not many people understand curly hair. Christin knew just what to do and I was able to relax on the day of the wedding. I also prefer a more natural look when it comes to make-up but also knew that it would need to be more substantial to show up in pictures. Ashley accomplished both and I still looked like myself. You cannot go wrong with this team. I only wish they lives in Houston so that they could glam me up for every special occasion!

These ladies are AMAZING!!! Every bride wants to look as beautiful as possible on their big day and Christin and Ashley are beauty goddesses! I worked with them for my Sept 2015 wedding for both bridal hair and make up but also for my large wedding party & female relatives and everyone just looked gorgeous! And (maybe most importantly), I LOVED LOVED LOVED my own hair and make up. They collaborated with me on everything and the result was just perfect. It lasted the whole night without being too cakey or heavy and I was so sad at the end of the night when I had to take it all off. I'm pretty sure that it was the best that I have ever looked and I hope to one day work with them again just so I can feel that again. Seriously, these ladies are incredible. Would highly recommend!!!

The LunaBella girls are amazing...working with them during my wedding was like hanging out with friends. They are laid-back, funny, loving, caring...all around awesome people...just the type of people you want hanging out with you while you get ready for your wedding day. They made everyone in my bridal party look so beautiful and natural (none of the caked on make up, hair sprayed disasters I had experienced during trials with other make-up artists)...the picture perfect make-up and hair lasted through out the entire event. Everyone looked awesome even when the wedding turned into a late night party :-) I would recommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful bridal make-up/hair team.

I was getting married in the Santa Barbara area and really thought that I would have a hard time finding someone to do my hair for my wedding being that I am African American. I hired an artist from LA to travel up for my hair and make-up, but a few months later I realized that my girls needed their hair and make-up too. Luckily I was referred by a kind make-up artist who lived in the Santa Barbara area to Luna Bella. She told me that they did indeed specialize in nature hair care and were also professional make-up team for hire, and the best part: they were mobile! I was shocked and wanted to see if they were available for my wedding!!!!

I contacted LunaBella and I was assisted by Carmen Fierro. Carmen Rocks! I was beyond pleased and happy with her professionalism and prompt responses to all my emails and questions, scheduling and etc. Both my makeup artist and hair stylist for the girls (please forgive me that I forget their names) were on time, professional and had a wonderful attitude that kept the mood celebratory and helped me stay upbeat being that a random rain storm hit the morning of my wedding. Finding Lunabella was bitter sweet; it was far too late to book them for my services, but I was still able to use them to make my sisters, nieces and my mom look so Bella on the best day of my life. The girls felt and truly looked beautiful and I am so happy to know that I do indeed have a place in Santa Barbara that I could go to, since I honestly didn’t think I would be able to find a place that could specialize in black and natural hair care. Thank goodness for the referral and now I can hire them for other special occasions that may arise. Carmen even helped me find a barber who give my fiancé one of the best haircuts he has even had for our wedding day.

My wedding coordinator, Sophie Spier, recommended Luna Bella for Hair and Makeup for my wedding day. After glancing at their website, I knew I would be in good hands! I had a general look in mind for the “tone” I wanted to set with my makeup, and Nickie took that and made it even better! She gave suggestions while also respecting what I wanted. She was awesome. We had a little shade difference between the foundation and my skin tone, that we discovered after the trial was completed, and Nickie knew exactly how to fix it and on my big day, it was Perfect!! (I recommend a trial! It gives everyone a chance to get comfortable and communicate their vision!) Lynzi did a fabulous job with my hair! Once again, I told her what I had in mind and she knew what to do! No problem! I loved what she did! I had a head piece that I was concerned about because if placed the wrong way, it would look awful, but I felt so confident with Lynzi and she did not let me down! These two work great together! They know what they’re doing, they’re super sweet, and very professional. You will not be disappointed! Also, Carmen was great in getting everything coordinated. She responds quickly, and is super sweet. There’s a lot to be said about that! It’s a big deal and it’s important to have people who want to help you and are excited to work with you! Love them! Hope to work with them again!
