We worked with Julie of Vieira Events for our October 2025 wedding, and had an excellent experience. If you’re looking for a planner who will hold your hand every step of the way, but step back when you want to take control, Julie would be a perfect fit.

For context, I’m a bride with anxiety and executive-functioning challenges, which makes starting and following through on large, intimidating projects (like planning a wedding) extremely difficult. When I got engaged in the summer of 2021, I had plenty of ideas but no idea where to begin. I knew we wanted a medium-sized wedding (around 120 guests) in Baltimore or the DMV, an upscale-yet-relaxed vibe, and a reception not centered on dancing.

After a few months of making no progress, we hired a planner recommended by a friend; however, after five months, we still hadn’t made progress and ultimately had to part ways. I started losing hope—if a wedding planner couldn’t help me organize a wedding, who could?

Enter Julie, in May of 2024. My mother shared several planner portfolios with me, and Vieira Events immediately stood out. Reviews consistently underlined that Julie could take care of as much or as little of the planning process as you want her to and also that she helps with intimidating decision-making while still giving clients creative freedom where desired. That sounded perfect for someone with a brain like mine, and we signed on with her shortly after our consultation meeting.

The difference was immediate. Within one week, we had a kickoff meeting. Two weeks later, we had three venue tours scheduled. In just a few weeks, Julie helped us make more progress than we had in five months with our previous planner. For the first time, I felt confident our wedding was actually going to happen, and that Julie was the person who would make it happen. Her communication cadence was excellent, and she organized information and tasks in a way that made timelines, priorities, and next steps immediately clear.

Fast-forward to our wedding weekend, and everything went off without a hitch. The ceremony and reception were beautiful, the food was exceptional, and the entertainment was perfect. Julie also coordinated our welcome dinner and farewell brunch, which were just as seamless. If anything went wrong, we never knew about it—Julie and her team handled everything behind the scenes. I was able to enjoy the celebration and be in the moment while the Vieira Events team took care of everything. They even made sure I was fed and hydrated throughout the evening!

Julie showed up for me in ways that went far beyond what I expected from a planner, and I can’t thank her enough for helping make our dream wedding a reality. Julie was not only the first wedding decision we made during the planning process, but unquestionably the best. As both a bride and an industry professional with over a decade of experience in hospitality, many assumed I would neither want nor require a wedding planner. Julie is extraordinary, and we are truly grateful to have had her alongside us for this once-in-a-lifetime journey.

Hiring Julie was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning process. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a vast network of trusted vendors who clearly love to work with her. From our very first meeting, she listened intently to our ideas and vision. Her creativity, attention to detail, and ability to bring every vendor together seamlessly is amazing.

Julie didn’t just plan our wedding, she elevated it! The day felt completely “us,” only more beautiful and fun than we ever thought possible. Having her as part of our day and the entire process meant so much to us and our families. We got married this past October and could not have been happier with our experience with Julie and her team. She guided us through 1.5 years of planning, expertly helping us change wedding venues, find and review vendor contracts, plan the creative/aesthetic aspects of the day, and deal with the millions of logistical pieces in-between. She helped us tackle the process step-by-step and month-by-month, making sure we stayed on top of tasks and ensuring the day reflected what we wanted/our personal story. We were so happy to trust her recommendations for DC-based vendors and her creative design and vision for the color palette/florals/linens/seating/etc etc was wonderful. Julie was absolutely fantastic. She was wonderful to work with throughout the process—communicative, on top of things, and supportive—and she made everything so much less stressful than it would have been otherwise. The whole experience was incredibly smooth, and the day itself practically seamless. The design was beautiful and we have had so many compliments from guests on how it all turned out. In short, we cannot recommend her enough.

There are not enough words to sufficiently describe how much we LOVED working with Julie. Now, nearly 6 months from our wedding, my husband and I, my parents, his parents, our friends all continue to rave about how great Julie was.

From the initial intake call, we could tell Julie cared deeply about making sure our wedding day was special for us. She asked us questions about who we are, what are our hopes for the weekend, what are our priorities, etc etc, and made us feel like she wanted this day to be great just as badly as we did.

From there Julie was consistently amazing! We felt she always on our side and had our backs. The planning process was so easy and seamless. As two working professionals, my husband and I leaned heavily on Julie, and she knocked it out of the park. She kept us moving in the right direction and gave us curated options so we were never swimming in too much information, but always felt she knew what our vision was.

On the wedding day itself, Julie was a champ. We didn't have to worry about anything! Julie and her team made sure that our families were always taken care of. Already, my family is hopeful to hire Julie again for my sister's wedding when that day comes. As the bride and groom, we felt everything went off perfectly (and if it didn't, we did not know because Julie clearly handled it without disrupting the day).

Julie will always hold a special place in our hearts for making our wedding day wonderful.

We could not be happier that we chose Julie and her team to plan our wedding. From day one, Julie seemed to really get our vibe and our vision—a vision that she flawlessly brought to life on our wedding day. Julie is incredibly talented. Everything Vieira Events (and especially Julie) did for us throughout the planning process of our dream wedding is truly invaluable. Not only does she design a beautiful wedding, she knows who the best vendors are, she is supremely organized with her tracking system, is super communicative, thinks of every situation to plan for, and somehow remains calm the whole time. She has limitless patience and we are so grateful to her and her team for making what was a year and a half of planning seem effortless. It resulted in the best time ever.

Our wedding was postponed 3 different times for covid and Julie was fantastic each time. The pandemic made planning the wedding so difficult and yet, she made us both feel at ease.  She made sure to work with us and all of our vendors to find new dates and make sure all the contracts were updated. Her ideas for our wedding we perfect and we ended up with everything we imagined.

On the day of the actual wedding, she and her team had everything moving on schedule. I have no idea if there were any hiccups on the day because she and her team ensured we were fully focused on the day. It speaks to how good she truly is.
