We worked with Julie of Vieira Events for our October 2025 wedding, and had an excellent experience. If you’re looking for a planner who will hold your hand every step of the way, but step back when you want to take control, Julie would be a perfect fit.
For context, I’m a bride with anxiety and executive-functioning challenges, which makes starting and following through on large, intimidating projects (like planning a wedding) extremely difficult. When I got engaged in the summer of 2021, I had plenty of ideas but no idea where to begin. I knew we wanted a medium-sized wedding (around 120 guests) in Baltimore or the DMV, an upscale-yet-relaxed vibe, and a reception not centered on dancing.
After a few months of making no progress, we hired a planner recommended by a friend; however, after five months, we still hadn’t made progress and ultimately had to part ways. I started losing hope—if a wedding planner couldn’t help me organize a wedding, who could?
Enter Julie, in May of 2024. My mother shared several planner portfolios with me, and Vieira Events immediately stood out. Reviews consistently underlined that Julie could take care of as much or as little of the planning process as you want her to and also that she helps with intimidating decision-making while still giving clients creative freedom where desired. That sounded perfect for someone with a brain like mine, and we signed on with her shortly after our consultation meeting.
The difference was immediate. Within one week, we had a kickoff meeting. Two weeks later, we had three venue tours scheduled. In just a few weeks, Julie helped us make more progress than we had in five months with our previous planner. For the first time, I felt confident our wedding was actually going to happen, and that Julie was the person who would make it happen. Her communication cadence was excellent, and she organized information and tasks in a way that made timelines, priorities, and next steps immediately clear.
Fast-forward to our wedding weekend, and everything went off without a hitch. The ceremony and reception were beautiful, the food was exceptional, and the entertainment was perfect. Julie also coordinated our welcome dinner and farewell brunch, which were just as seamless. If anything went wrong, we never knew about it—Julie and her team handled everything behind the scenes. I was able to enjoy the celebration and be in the moment while the Vieira Events team took care of everything. They even made sure I was fed and hydrated throughout the evening!
The photo I included of Julie helping me practice my first dance sums up my experience with her as a full-service planner: she’s a professional, a guardian angel, and by the end of the process—a friend. Julie showed up for me in ways that went far beyond what I expected from a planner, and I can’t thank her enough for helping make our dream wedding a reality. I would absolutely recommend Vieira Events to anyone planning a wedding, especially if you need extra support navigating the process like I did. -

Julie was not only the first wedding decision we made during the planning process, but unquestionably the best. As both a bride and an industry professional with over a decade of experience in hospitality, many assumed I would neither want nor require a wedding planner. That assumption could not have been more wrong. Knowing the time, care, and precision required to plan a wedding, I knew that if I hoped to maintain my sanity and enjoy the year ahead, help from an expert was essential.
After speaking with three planners, Julie stood out as an immediate and resounding yes. She is calm, reassuring, and sincerely caring, while remaining professional. She possesses an innate ability to listen and translate personal stories into thoughtful, meaningful design. Julie took the unique elements of my husband’s and my relationship and wove them seamlessly into every aspect of our wedding day, resulting in an event that felt deeply personal and authentically reflective of who we are.
Julie’s exceptional organization and attention to detail kept us ahead of schedule throughout the planning process. When an unforeseen family emergency caused us to fall nearly six weeks behind, she guided us back on course with such grace and efficiency that it felt as though no time had been lost at all. Julie is extraordinary, and we are truly grateful to have had her alongside us for this once-in-a-lifetime journey.

We got married this past October and could not have been happier with our experience with Julie and her team. She guided us through 1.5 years of planning, expertly helping us change wedding venues, find and review vendor contracts, plan the creative/aesthetic aspects of the day, and deal with the millions of logistical pieces in-between. She helped us tackle the process step-by-step and month-by-month, making sure we stayed on top of tasks and ensuring the day reflected what we wanted/our personal story. We were so happy to trust her recommendations for DC-based vendors and her creative design and vision for the color palette/florals/linens/seating/etc etc was wonderful. Could not recommend Vieira Events more highly! -

Julie was absolutely fantastic. She was wonderful to work with throughout the process—communicative, on top of things, and supportive—and she made everything so much less stressful than it would have been otherwise. The whole experience was incredibly smooth, and the day itself practically seamless. The design was beautiful and we have had so many compliments from guests on how it all turned out. In short, we cannot recommend her enough. -

There are not enough words to sufficiently describe how much we LOVED working with Julie. Now, nearly 6 months from our wedding, my husband and I, my parents, his parents, our friends all continue to rave about how great Julie was.
From the initial intake call, we could tell Julie cared deeply about making sure our wedding day was special for us. She asked us questions about who we are, what are our hopes for the weekend, what are our priorities, etc etc, and made us feel like she wanted this day to be great just as badly as we did.
From there Julie was consistently amazing! We felt she always on our side and had our backs. The planning process was so easy and seamless. As two working professionals, my husband and I leaned heavily on Julie, and she knocked it out of the park. She kept us moving in the right direction and gave us curated options so we were never swimming in too much information, but always felt she knew what our vision was.
On the wedding day itself, Julie was a champ. We didn't have to worry about anything! Julie and her team made sure that our families were always taken care of. Already, my family is hopeful to hire Julie again for my sister's wedding when that day comes. As the bride and groom, we felt everything went off perfectly (and if it didn't, we did not know because Julie clearly handled it without disrupting the day).
Julie will always hold a special place in our hearts for making our wedding day wonderful. -

Dream Wedding
Everything Vieira Events (and especially Julie) did for us throughout the planning process of our dream wedding is truly invaluable. Not only does she design a beautiful wedding, she knows who the best vendors are, she is supremely organized with her tracking system, is super communicative, thinks of every situation to plan for, and somehow remains calm the whole time. She has limitless patience and we are so grateful to her and her team for making what was a year and a half of planning seem effortless. It resulted in the best time ever. -

Our wedding was originally scheduled for May 2020. When COVID hit just a few months before our original wedding date, Julie quickly jumped to action and started putting in place a plan B, C, and D! We even had our band cancel on us just a month before our final wedding date - Julie immediately had multiple backup band options before I even reached out to her. She ended up finding us an amazing band that completely MADE our wedding and was able to get them for us at an incredible deal!
There were so many unknowns at this time and Julie did an excellent job of managing all the moving pieces - with guidances changing every few weeks! Julie went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and comfortable with the many decisions that needed to be made. We eventually had to move our wedding date twice, ultimately having our wedding in May 2021. We really could not have made this all happen without Julie and we will be forever grateful for her and all her hard work. During such uncertain times, she was the only thing we KNEW we could rely on!
Beyond being amazing during all our COVID re-scheduling, Julie was always such a wonderful person to talk to and work with. We felt very comfortable that she had deep knowledge and expertise in the industry and helped us navigate all kinds of questions and contracts that we would have been clueless about otherwise. She was also an incredibly calming presence on the day of our wedding - it was such a relief knowing that everything little detail was taken care of and that we could just sit back and enjoy our special day!
If anyone is on the fence about the value a wedding planner brings - I would 100% recommend Julie every single time. The time, energy, and overall well being that Julie gave us was worth every single penny plus so much more! -

Look No Further!
Julie was fantastic to work with! As my husband and I started wedding planning we began to become a bit overwhelmed with the endless options and decisions available for our big day. That was until we found Julie, who instantly removed any uncertainty and brought our ideas to life! From the beginning Julie took time to genuinely know us and what we visioned for our day. Her attention to detail, style, and creative ideas made the day truly breathtaking. All of her vendor recommendations were amazing and her design process through moodboards, meetings and samples gave life to our ideas and allowed to really picture the day.
Julie’s preparation and organization showed on the day of our wedding! As someone with a big family the fact she was able to coordinate and keep them all on schedule was truly amazing. My husband and I will be forever grateful for Julie’s thoughtfulness, support, patience, experience, talent, and overall amazing positive energy. I worked with Vieira Events for my wedding and wouldn't have had it any other way. Julie was recommended from a friend. I really needed help with the overall design and decor for my wedding. Julie brought my ideas and thoughts to life in the most perfect way. I would have NEVER been able to do it myself. She also was able to postpone my wedding during the pandemic and made sure we secured all our same vendors. Lastly, the day of the wedding, her team was there for everything. You know how everyone says " oh some things always go wrong on your wedding day but you won't notice." Well I can honestly say I don't think anything went wrong at my wedding because of Julie and her team. It was the most perfect day and I truly owe it all to her!!! -

Julie is incredible!
I cannot say enough about Julie. I had worked in the hospitality/wedding industry for about 6 years when I had gotten engaged, so I had seen A LOT of weddings - I had a very clear vision of exactly what I wanted our day to look like, and how I wanted the overall experience to feel. Julie took my vision and brought it to life in the most sincere way possible. Her knowledge of design, florals, and of course - perfect event execution made it clear to me that there was no one else I would trust on our wedding day.
She truly became a part of our family throughout the process, and I cannot thank her enough for the part she played in the best day of our lives.

The best wedding planning team!
Planning an Annapolis wedding from halfway across the country led us to full planning with KVE, which was one of the best decisions we made! One of the reasons we were so drawn to KVE was their aesthetic and attention to detail- to say our expectations were met would be an understatement.
Julie was essential during every step of the way planning from afar, from hunting for the perfect venue to wrangling our design ideas to bring our wedding dreams to life. Wedding planning involves endless decisions- Julie made the process as painless as possible and we truly couldn't have imagined everything going so smoothly without her. It also doesn't hurt that she's an amazing person and fun to be around! Julie and the team were invaluable day of- they took the logistics and stress off of us and our families which allowed us to relax and enjoy every minute of the day. We are so thankful for Julie & team for making our wedding a perfect memory to look back on forever. -

Literally a dream team...and a powerhouse planner. Julie Vieira is a force and a planner who I believe has a brilliant future ahead of her. As a couple evaluating the myriad of options available for their celebration weekend, you'll certainly have plenty of great choices from which to choose (we interviewed nearly 10 planning agencies) but, bar none, Julie and her team are the best choice if you want style, flair and precision. Several adjectives that come to mind whilst thinking about Julie: thoughtful, patient, creative, insightful, intelligent (she uses her brains to create truly unique and inspired experiences) and attentive. My husband and I are incredibly busy working professionals living in Singapore that planned a wedding literally half the world away in DC -- coordinating with hectic our schedules, providing us with the right amount of communication to give us comfort when making important decisions from afar and when we could not be there for the tangible affirmations through videos, photos, moodboards, recaps -- you name it, she did if she thought it could alleviate some of our stress. Our vision for our wedding weekend was a bit unconventional....Julie listened and executed flawlessly. She put her heart and soul into the the planning process (we hired her for full wedding service -- worth every penny and more) and the weekend itself. She's incredibly attuned to nuance and reacts with grace to curve balls. What can I say -- you won't regret selecting Kruse & Vieira. -

Julie (& her whole team) is AMAZING! From our first meeting all the way through wedding day, she was thoughtful, patient & FUN!
No detail went unnoticed and ours guests RAVED about both the wedding itself and how calm and cool the team was on wedding weekend. Her vendor partners are unmatched, her designs are unique and she could definitely moonlight as a therapist :)
It ALMOST makes me want to do it all over again... (but I'm all set with just the one husband...) -
