My style is a mix of photojournalism and candid. I love to tell a story with photographs, and weddings allow me to do that. I love the details, I love the planning, and I love the LOVE. Being around two people that are just enamored with each other makes ME happy.
What am I?
A former bride that knows the stress of planning a wedding, a fiercely loyal friend, helpful, a pitbull lover and advocate, a lover of sparkly things, a bit of a nerd (I love to read and play trivia games), a coffee addict, a technology junkie, a teensy bit of a control freak when it comes to doing things right, and a pen collector (no, not special ones...just lots of the same ones).
I picked up a DSLR to shoot a wedding about 6 years ago, and have never looked back. I fall more in love with my job every single day, and I wouldn't trade a single thing about it. I'm always looking for new things to try, new ways to improve, and different points of view for the way I operate.

First off, Jen is incredibly talented!! Her photos, style and craftsmanship are impeccable. Not only, is she extremely professional and courteous, but she knows how to make everything easy for the bride. We originally booked her for my sisters wedding and instantly fell in love with her technique and personality, so I just had to have her for my wedding! She truly is the whole package when it comes to wedding photographers! I am so grateful we found her. The work she did is something we will look back on for the rest of our lives.

Absolutely amazing. Jen helped us took amazing engagement picture in Washington DC and spent 8 hrs taking our wedding pictures at the GA Aquarium. She was able to capture "the moment" for us.

Not only has she done my wedding but our engagement, family and our first baby announcement!! I have the wonderful pictures she has captured of those I love the most ALL over my home!!

I never imagined my pictures would turn out so beautiful. I've had countless complements on our pictures, we had engagement, bridal and our wedding pictures done. I can't tell you how happy we were when we got our pictures back. When the time comes I know exactly who I'll be getting to do my maternity and newborn pictures. Jen was simply amazing! We instantly had a connection with Jen after meeting her at our consultation. We walked out going we have to use her! She was so easy to work with and was very straightforward with her contract. Once you look at her photos you will know why we sing her praises! She is responsive and answered all of our questions. We loved doing our engagement photos! It was such a fun experience and she did a great job directing us to get some amazing shots! The wedding day went so smoothly! Jen and her second shooter Amelia were wonderful at directing everyone to get some incredible photos! Everyone just raved about how professional and easy to work with they were. They made sure to get all the photos that were important to me. Jen has such a eye for the perfect background, perfect light, perfect placement and we were so fortunate to get to have her capture memories from the best day of our lives!

Jen photographed my daughter's wedding at The Homewood in Asheville in March, 2015. She exceeded my expectations by providing excellent photos at a great price. Jen arrived early, stayed late, took more photos than we expected and posted them in an online gallery before we expected. Jen is very professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend her for wedding photography!

Jen Burrell did far more than just be our photographer for our wedding! She became a friend! My husband and I just LOVE her!
