Hawkesdene is a Private Mountain Estate located in the mountains of Western North Carolina, unaffected by Hurricane Helene, and two hours north of Atlanta, that hosts reunion-style weddings and other personal and corporate special events. This private estate spans 70 acres in The Great Smoky Mountains. The management team at Hawkesdene warmly invites couples planning for a truly remarkable wedding event. What makes this property unique is its private exclusivity; The entire estate is yours and your guest's alone, with no curfews, for the duration of your stay. Attention to detail here is second to none, as you’ll see the moment you arrive.

• We host just one group at a time, ensuring personal use of the entire estate, elegant accommodations, and beautifully manicured grounds and gardens.
• Our continuous hands-on improvement of, and investment in, this property helps keep Hawkesdene's offerings at the highest level with the nation's best wedding venues.
• Hawkesdene's expansive property is highlighted by a host of spectacular backdrops and outdoor spaces for ceremonies, all of which you can choose from before, and even on, your special day.
• Lovely locations to choose from to hold your ceremony. A canopy of Crape Myrtles sets the mood as a natural archway creates one of our most popular ceremony locations on the estate.
• Our open lawn is ideal for larger groups and boasts a beautifully-designed pergola with lush floral gardens and mountain views. Smaller, more intimate ceremonies have taken place with our llama and alpaca stable as a rustic, heartfelt backdrop. You will see our friendly llamas and alpacas grazing in the pasture.
• Receptions are held in either our spacious open-air pavilion attached to the main house and overlooking Phillips Creek or in our brand new, 5,000 square-foot, Reception Gallery located on Colvard Creek. This chic building is adorned with the owners’ personal collection of contemporary artwork. And this venue assures that inclement weather will never be an issue for your ceremony, cocktail party and reception on your special day.

Made our dream wedding a reality
When touring venues, my now husband and I knew we wanted to be in the mountains but wanted to find a venue that combined elegance with the rustic and authentic feel of Western NC. Hawkesdene was the perfect combination and our vision truly came to life through our planning with Jami and Ashley.
We were so spoiled by all the meals we had - I cannot say enough good things about their chef on site. Every meal we had was 10/10 and exceeded all our expectations. (Which were already high after reading such great reviews!!)
Another thing that impressed me was how well all the staff work together - from the team driving us on UTV’s to the bartenders to the housekeeping team and everyone behind the scenes, Hawkesdene is such a well oiled machine where as a guest you relax and things fall into place around you. We were so impressed by how quickly they turned things around and were able to answer our questions and assist us with our requests.
We truly cannot say enough good things about this venue and would recommend it to anyone. We had guests say they want to bring their companies there for corporate retreats and some say that they want to have their weddings there too (and I sure hope so, so i can go back!😊)
The Perfect October Wedding
The staff went above and beyond to ensure our weekend went out without a hitch. Jami and Ashley took no shortcuts in making sure everything matched our vision. The ceremony was perfect, the reception was amazing, and they worked with us to ensure every detail came through successfully. I cannot express my full gratitude for what they did for us to make the weekend so amazing.
Any photos you see of the place, of weddings at the place, and especially of their overlook, do not do justice to the true beauty that is Hawkesdene. I would recommend this venue to anyone and hope you take the chance to work with their amazing team.

The Hawkesdene is a great venue for all occasions especially weddings! We love working with the staff at the Hawkesdene, the property is stunning and the food is amazing. One of our favorite places to photograph weddings!
Not only is this location AMAZINGLY beautiful and unique, but the entire three days we were there, I was extremely impressed by the staff. They were efficient, kind, helpful, accommodating, friendly and just a pleasure to work with in every way. They all seemed to truly care about doing the best job possible while having a great attitude. This is not always the case at other venues. That’s why I would like to personally thank each and every person at The Hawkesdene House mountain retreat, for making it a wonderful experience for everyone involved. You stand out above the rest and I believe that needs recognition. I also need to mention the FABULOUS CHEF!!! I’m still thinking about that amazing berry pie and the most incredible coffee I have ever tasted! I have eaten a lot of wedding food in my long career and rarely remember the food. I will remember this food… all of it! AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! Thank you for serving us lunch early on Saturday, so that we could eat before we had to start shooting. It was very much appreciated!!
Hawkesdene House with its babbling brook and mountainous skyline is definitely one of the more beautiful properties to get married at in Western NC. It's also nice that they offer several different ceremony sites, and I adore their modern art collection in the main house.
