Lora was incredible to work with. She was responsive and made the entire process of tasting and delivering our cake super easy.

She baked me extra cakes to take home to my partner so he could be part of the process and was able to make our two layers the two different flavors that we loved.

And when I say this was the most delicious cake I've ever had I'm not even kidding -- sometimes the tradeoff for a beautiful cake is that it looks better than it tastes but we selfishly wouldn't let anybody else eat our cake (we gave them sheet cakes) so that we could absolutely INHALE our leftover cake after the wedding - it was that good!

We served about 100 people at my daughter's recent wedding at Rixey Manor. With one three-tiered cake and a sheet cake, there was plenty to serve and still save the top tier for the bride and groom. I would recommend Gateau cakes to anyone! Our wedding cake was not only beautiful but soo delicious and all our guests kept telling us how great the cake was. Tiered wedding cakes tend to be dry but this cake was moist and tasted great, offering more complex flavors than the other bakeries we sampled. We also loved that we could get Swiss merengue or Italian buttercream as we’re not fans of American buttercream since it’s overly sweet. We chose a cake slightly larger than what we needed to have leftovers and an anniversary cake topper and we’re so glad we did, she even provided a box to save our top layer. We ordered the wedding bliss flavor and it was such a crowd pleaser. For the price, we thought this cake went beyond our expectations. Thank you Gateau cakes!

We got the Wedding Bliss cake from Lora, and it was sooo good! Our guests thought so too - when cake was served the dance floor was completely empty while everyone enjoyed cake. We even had people enjoying it who typically aren't fans of cake (I know, how is that even possible!?). It was just the best! :)

Gateau was easy (possibly the only "easy" wedding decision/planning task), incredible, and perfect for our wedding day needs.

Lora was very friendly, organized, responsive, and thoughtful throughout our wedding planning. She clearly has a real passion for what she is doing and wants everyone else to feel it too- through a love of pastry and deliciousness!

First, the vision: I sent Lora 2-3 photos of a cake design (tone on tone lacy piped design cascading down the 4-layer cake) I found on Pinterest, and from those few photos, she created EXACTLY what we wanted! The cake was stunningly perfect and created a beautiful visual medium that set the tone during our reception. Lora takes almost any creative idea you present to her and without question, turns it into a wedding cake masterpiece.

Next, the taste: WOW. I had never had better wedding cake in my entire life and my guests said the same. Every flavor (we did multiple classics) were moist but held a wonderful crumb, buttery and rich but not overdone, well-balanced with sweet, creamy, and tart, and beautifully layered. Even the fondant (necessary top layer for designs), which usually is not my desired texture or taste, was very tasty and welcomed on top of the layered slices. My personal favorite was the perfectly zingy yet buttery lemon cream flavor.

Last, the professionalism: There were no concerns from Lora or us throughout the process. She did not burden us with lots of questions or "what ifs." She was a pro in taking on our project with true expertise and delivering with ease.

I also MUST mention the incredible attentiveness and role she played in our more difficult than normal allergen requests- my groom is allergic to gluten, dairy, soy, legumes, nuts, and sesame, and she was able to produce a smaller groom's cake for us that was not only completely safe for him and his family to eat, but SO TASTY that you couldn't tell what it was "missing." It was amazing that Lora could produce both completely different cakes without missing a beat and providing us a perfect experience for what could have been stressful with all of the food allergies. She is well-versed in what allergen-free ingredients taste the best and also in how to prevent all cross contamination, which we cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for enough.

Gateau was ideal for our unforgettable wedding day and I cannot recommend them enough- hire them! Eat their decadent cakes and spread the word! You will not regret it.

The wedding cake we got from Gateau - the almond raspberry dream - was THE BEST tasting wedding cake we’ve ever had, and we got that compliment from many of our guests as well. Lora was lovely to work with and the cake was beautifully designed in addition to being delicious.

We loved our cake and cupcakes we got from gateau! All of our samples we got were so good we got all three of the flavors! Everything was delicious the day of and our guests loved them!!
