Emily is hands down the reason my wedding was a success! My husband and I are not locals to Portland, so we needed a planner who knew the area and the vendors. Emily is so well-respected amongst the wedding vendor community around Portland, and I am eternally grateful that we got to work with her.

Emily has all of the qualities that make an amazing wedding planner. She's efficient and organized, and I trusted her completely to check all the boxes and never drop the thread on any task. She's always calm, and her energy helped mitigate any nervous-bride tendencies that I had throughout planning. She also has wonderful taste - she steered me away from some design choices that I'm still glad we opted out of, and the only design choice I regret was one that Emily tried her best to counsel me against!

I only wish I had more friends and family from the Northeast who wanted to get married in Maine and could work with her! Alas, we are from the south - though I've already had two friends ask if Emily plans weddings in Georgia and Florida - a testament to the wonderful wedding that Emily planned!

We cannot recommend hiring Emily Elizabeth Events more--it was absolutely the best wedding planning decision we made. We got married in August 2021 and worked with Emily for 27 whole months (!) to plan. From the second she started working with us, we felt so comfortable with her and had complete trust in her. We so appreciated Emily's gentle guidance, her incredible vendor recommendations, her lightning-speed responses, her professionalism with us and our vendors, and her keeping us on time and on budget, and immediately saw her skill and design talent as the vision for the wedding started to take shape.

It's such a testament to Emily's work ethic, relationships, and attention to detail that not only was most of our wedding planned by April 2020, but that when we decided to rebook because of the pandemic uncertainty, she essentially did it all in 24 hours. We felt so incredibly lucky that during such a stressful time in the world, wedding planning wasn't an added stress.

Our wedding weekend itself was better than we could have hoped for. Emily pulled together such a thorough timeline that gave us and our families so much comfort to know every single detail was taken care of. She ran the rehearsal perfectly, got to our venue at the crack of dawn on wedding day, spent the whole day on your feet creating the most beautiful space we've ever seen, and didn't leave until the venue was cleared out.

Every single element was more beautiful and went more seamlessly than we could have hoped. We've been to many weddings and spoken to many friends who have hired planners, and Emily is far and away the best of them all. We are so grateful she made our experience the best weekend of our lives!

We worked with Emily as a planner for our 35 person August wedding in Maine that was at a private residence. Emily was incredibly responsive; we worked primarily over email for the year leading up to the wedding. She had every detail covered and made it really easy to tackle all of the planning steps involved and had many vendors she could recommend that she already worked closely with. She coordinated directly with all of our vendors and was incredibly organized leading up to the weekend and being onsite during Friday / Saturday festivities. We trusted Emily with many of the design decisions and everything came out so beautifully. She knew all of the specific vendors we would need to prepare a private (non venue) space. She was invaluable the day of and made everything go smoothly so that we could fully enjoy the day and be present. We highly recommend working with Emily for your event, especially if you are going for a more intimate affair.

I cannot recommend Emily with Emily Elizabeth Events enough. Emily's support throughout the entire wedding planning process up until our special day was invaluable. She was extremely helpful and consultative in our early stages of planning when evaluating vendors, sending inquiries, gathering quotes, handling the back and forth communication to firm up each detail. Throughout the design portion she was so proactive in bringing forth vision boards and ideas for every little detail - tablescape, lighting, tent setup, florals, bridesmaid/groomsmen outfits, photography suggestions, transportation logistics, invitations & day of paper goods - you name it she had an idea and vendor recommendation that fit exactly what I was looking for. Then the day of... went off without one single hitch. Emily gave us so much peace of mind so my husband and I could truly enjoy every single moment of our special day. Something that was absolutely priceless to me. She kept us as a couple, our bridal party and family, vendors and our venue so organized and helped us stick to our timeline and her organization, attention to detail, calm demeanor and unwavering support was unmatched. As a VERY type-A bride, I had 10+ emails for Emily each day which she handled with grace and efficiency, making wedding planning actually enjoyable and nowhere near as overwhelming as I thought it would be. If I could recommend Emily 5x more times, I would!!!

Our wedding would not have come together without Emily. We fell in love with Emily's aesthetic from looking at her portfolio and after meeting her in Portland, we knew she was the perfect fit. She really listened to how we wanted the day to feel and helped select the most wonderful team of vendors to make it all happen. She was conscious of our budget, organized, and calm through it all. We felt supported through the whole planning process and on the day of, everything went beautifully. We cannot thank her enough for making our weekend so special and just wish we could do it all again!

Emily was wonderful to work with, day in and day out of our entire planning process. We couldn’t have done it without her! She was always prompt on email and available to talk through anything at any time. She kept us on track, organized, and thought of everything. She answered every question, no matter how small it seemed, with thoughtfulness and kindness.

Her design and creativity made our dream wedding come to life. We were beyond impressed. She has the knowledge and experience to know what is best, and we trusted her guidance with every detail.

One moment that I thought particularly stood out was the night of our wedding, after everyone had left, Emily was still boxing everything up and making it absolutely seamless for us the day after. When it was time to head home the next day, everything was organized and ready for us to load up into our car. Down to every candle votive back in its bubble wrap and in the box! She also took apart our flower arrangements mid-reception and made little bouquets so every guest could take home some fresh flowers.

If you are thinking about investing in an event planner for your wedding, I would say it is 100% worth it, especially with Emily. You won’t regret it! She is amazing!

Our wedding day would not have been possible without Emily. She was with us from beginning to end and made what could have been a very stressful process easy and fun. We had an absolutely gorgeous day and no detail was overlooked - there were so many little touches and ideas that we would have never thought of if it was not for Emily and her creativity. It was amazing to watch her come up with things that were so uniquely "us" - she really took the time to understand what our style was, but was able to elevate that vision to something we didn't even know was possible. More than anything, she became a friend - working together for over a year I truly felt like I could ask her anything and absolutely trusted her, her style and her judgment. We remember getting the detailed schedule of the wedding week with all of the vendors and timing, and being in awe of the level of coordination and detail involved - it drove home that this magical day would not have been possible without Emily. Emily did a remarkable job of getting to know us and helping us to get clear about how we wanted to celebrate our day. From there, the process was seamless, fun and incredibly relaxed - Emily’s expertise was apparent throughout and her steady, calm energy never failed. She managed more details than I ever knew and pulled me in when needed in a way that never created stress or worry. She felt like a dear friend with crazy good organizational skills!

After speaking with Emily for the first time I knew she was exactly what I needed to plan my dream wedding. She is very organized, responsive to emails, and knew all of the vendors to work with. As someone with a busy job and lifestyle I knew I needed someone who could be truly dedicated to making sure my day went off without a hitch, and that's just what Emily did! There were plenty of details that went into the day, and vendors to be worked with (my wedding was tented and outside), and everything went perfectly. Emily knew the vendors from Maine to work with, which was very convenient and helpful as I live in Boston. Emily and I exchanged emails multiple times daily, and she created an organized online portal where we could view our To Do List and various items listed out as High, Medium, or Low priority. Truly a pleasure to work with and I already miss her because she is such a friendly and great person overall. The photos from our day speak volumes but it was the most perfect day of our lives! Emily was such a joy to work with. There is no way our wedding would have been the unforgettable day it was without her involvement. She is a total gem--fun, organized, thoughtful, kind, and totally on top of her game.

She helps make your vision a reality: she always had ideas, and she was a valuable thought partner for me to bounce my own off of. All of the aesthetic decisions we made were so fun; I talked about the vibe of our wedding being "fancier backyard dinner party" and she pulled the details together in such a gorgeous way-- from the beautiful tables to the candlesticks (which she sourced and were AMAZING) to the font on our table cards, no piece was too small to give some thought to. And, whenever I got decision fatigue, or started second-guessing things, she was always there with some thoughtful ideas or advice on what we might do next. In the midst of all of this, she also helped us plan for and stay on budget, which was critical. If something was going to be cost prohibitive, or wasn't worth our time, she would let us know, and if I decided I needed to get a little more wiggle room in the budget in favor of something else, she helped us identify items that could come out.

On top of that, she is incredibly organized and helped us stay on track with planning through a combination of emails and her own tools/documents. She answered our questions quickly, kept us apprised of how things were going, and she was willing to jump on the phone for a quick call when needed. We always knew where we were and what we had left. We worked collaboratively to decide on vendors, but she sourced quite a few of them for us (a godsend! less research!) and her recommendations were so valuable, especially since we were planning a wedding in Maine and we live in Boston. We had the most wonderful team, and I'm not sure we would have found some of them if not for Emily.

The day of and leading up to it was smooth sailing, and we knew we were in good hands so we could actually relax a little bit. Everything went amazing. Emily worked with our team of vendors and had everything lined up and ready to go, and helped keep us on time too.

Really, I can't say enough good things about her and her work. She was a constant, warm presence in the midst of the planning process (even and especially on days I was freaking out a little bit) and on the day of it was so fun to have a moment to step back and take it all in with her. Emily, there's no way it would've happened without you. Thank you again!!
