Dulce Cake Designs

When we asked our 3 year old what type of cake she wanted for her 4th birthday party she replied without hesitation that she wanted a "Herbie" cake. She has seen all 4 of the old Herbie the Love Bug movies and she loves Herbie.

As you might imagine we didn't have very much luck finding even one birthday cake with a Herbie theme. (Or any other VW for that matter)

Dulce Cake Designs to the rescue!

We asked Emily if she could do a Herbie cake for us and she said "sure, what do you want it to look like?"

We put her on the spot and just asked her to design it any way she wanted to, it just needs to be "Herbie".

I'm not sure what we expected, but what she created for the party was a work of art. She had "Made" (I'm not even sure how it was done) a fondunt Herbie sitting on top of a wonderful 2-tier cake. She hadn't missed a detail. Herbie even had little fondunt bumpers, headlights, treaded tires and rear view mirrors. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

The cake was decorated in white fondunt and had a road complete with center striping and blue & white racing stripes. Our daughters name was spelled to look like the Herbie car, like they did the "LoveBug" font in the movies. It even had two checkered flags and a the "Piston Cup" trophy too. Surrounding the cake were 12 wonderful #53 Herbie decorated chocolate cupcakes.

The attention to detail was amazing. We really hope that she will include this cake in her gallery because truly, decribing it with only words just isn't enough.

Our daughter of course LOVED her Herbie cake and although she is only 4, I don't think she'll ever forget it. I know we won't.

Emily created the most beautiful, one of a kind cake for my husband's college graduation. We had ordered a fondant cake unsure of what we wanted on it. She presented us with some wonderful ideas that we left up to her already seeing previous cakes that she'd created. What we got was an absolute, jaw dropping surprise. She made my husband out of fondant, back floating near an island, playing on his ukulele!! Her attention to detail was extremely intricate and precise. The cake was entirely stunning! Not to mention how wonderful it tasted. We also asked Emily to surprise us with the inside of the cake which resulted in an incredibly delicious and flavorful treat. We couldn't have asked for a more better surprise. It was a chocolate oreo cake with buttercream filling. The cake was so moist and decadent, making it very enjoyable to eat. Along with creating cakes that look and taste breathtaking, she was very pleasant to work with, responding to emails and questions in a timely and proper manner. She is one of the most professional entrepreneurs I know and is incredibly skillful at what she does. It is imperative for her to design high-quality, first-rate cakes, giving you nothing less than what you've asked, while leaving you and your family with one of the most memorable occasions ever celebrated! My husband and I will continue to use her services for future events because of the amazing experience we had. Thank you Emily!
