DNA Events was an outstanding catering company for our wedding. Our wedding planner (Rosa, Austin Wedding Planners) highly recommended them, and we were so much more than satisfied! Alanna was very responsive over email and worked well ironing out details with our planner. On our wedding day, the staff were on their A-game and were incredibly attentive to us as a couple and to all our guests. They were quick to clear cups and plates, and the bartending staff were excellent! Highly recommend DNA events if you have your heart set on a restaurant and need event staff to round the team out!

DNA Events (and Kathryn and Alanna) were fantastic to work with - especially across two years of delays. We loved the idea of getting to share some of our favorite local food (Terry Black's BBQ) with our guests, which made DNA a great choice for us. They handled all the coordination with Terry Black's, and then we also used the sister company Dagar's to cater the non-BBQ portions of the meal (salads, breads, non-alcoholic drinks, etc.) DNA also picked up and carved the brisket on the day-of. The service was excellent - Alanna took such great care of my husband and I, and we heard nothing but compliments from our guests on the food (both the brisket and the excellent salads from Dagar's) and the professionalism of the servers.

On the logistics side, Terry Black's did end up being harder to work with than expected, so I also want to give credit to DNA for sticking with it. While the BBQ was excellent and we had personal reasons for using them, they changed their prices multiple times, had requirements that added complexity, and internal turnover almost derailed an agreement DNA had already negotiated. Thanks to the DNA team for their perseverance there!

DNA Event is great! We used their staffing service and had Via 313 served at our wedding. Kathryn is great to work with and handled all the changes that came with 2020 with grace. Everyone was very professional and helped us have a wonderful wedding!

DNA Events MADE our wedding. We shopped around quite a bit for the right caterer for our wedding. Shopping around and comparing prices and offerings was by far the most stressful part of wedding planning.

We spoke with Kathryn and loved learning about their long history in town as a family-run caterer and really appreciated their commitment to customizing the experience to each client. Beyond that, they are very experienced and knew our venue's specific needs inside and out. Kathryn was very accessible and super responsive throughout the entire process. I don't know how she does it!

DNA offers various packages that make customization quite flexible. We were able to customize the event to include catering services, bar staff and to have the catering arm of their company, Dagar's, to provide passed apps and sides. We then worked with Terry Black's BBQ to provide our favorite brisket, and Torchy's Tacos to provide some queso and tacos. Dagar's would have gladly provided this as well with their delicious menu options, but we really wanted to feature a couple of our favorite restaurants for our out-of-town guests. Kathryn arranged for a runner to pick up the food from both restaurants on the day of, so we didn't have to worry about that.

Kathryn went above and beyond and had her master carver meet with Terry Black's to ensure the brisket caring technique was true to the Terry Black's brand. This kind of do-what-it-takes attitude is another example of how DNA Events really stands out! They build fantastic relationships with vendors, which really elevates the whole experience.

We were also able to rent the place settings and silverware as part of our catering package with DNA Events. They have quite a few options and offered a design consultation to come in and look at the various colors and types of: chargers, napkins, plates, flatware, etc. We are so happy with how the place settings came out! We received many compliments on how pretty the tables were!

On the day of the wedding, the staff were all on time and the setup was all done within the venue's short timeframe allotted! DNA served us a private dinner during cocktail at our request, so that we could spend a private moment together and be sure to eat (which we've heard so many brides & grooms forget to do). The staff made sure we had plenty of food so that we could taste everything! We felt very well taken care of.

We got SO MUCH value for the affordable options that DNA Events provides. We thank them whole heartedly for their flexibility and earnestness to make the experience great.

DNA and Kathryn, the owner, were just so wonderful to work with. We were planning our wedding from abroad so had to book a caterer without doing tastings, etc. and Kathryn really put me at ease. She talked out plans for the wedding over the phone, communicated really wonderfully be email, and ran things SO smoothly on the day. We booked food from Chi'lantro in Austin, and DNA handled everything, down to matching camp plates to go with our casual camp-themed decor. Because they work with a wide range of restaurants, I really recommend them to anyone with a venue that doesn't have a kitchen or doesn't do catering service - the cost is reasonable and they handle the stressful bits for you. They even let me mix and match some homemade hors d'oeuvres and drinks into the serving plan! HIGHLY recommend.

I got an estimate back from the catering company we desperately wanted to cater our wedding and it was quite a bit higher than our budget, so we decided to look at staffing companies to possibly save costs but still have the food we wanted. I reached out to DNA events and got ahold of Kathryn. We corresponded via e-mail and phone to get estimates about staffing costs which were very reasonable and would take us significantly closer to our budget. I circled back with the catering company to let them know we would need drop off only and they replied they would not allow for an outside staffing company for weddings. I let Kathryn know what they said and she actually reached out to the company via e-mail since she had connections with there to try to allow DNA to serve their food.

The company still wouldn't allow an outside company to serve but they worked with us on pricing and we got everything we wanted within our budget. She made us super happy with just putting in that extra effort to get the ball rolling on a solution for trimming costs and I will definitely be recommending everyone to use DNA events for staffing needs in the future.

Words cannot express how happy I was to find and work with DNA Events. I used them for my full service throughout the wedding, bartenders, and light catering during the cocktail hour. Every single person I spoke with was nothing shy of being amazing. We were fully catered to my entire wedding, making sure we had everything that we could possibly need. They went above and beyond what I needed out of a catering company.

I cannot say enough good things about DNA Events/Dagar's Catering. From the very first conversation, I knew I had found a good fit vendor. Everyone we worked with was courteous, professional, prompt and so, so helpful. Kathryn Albarado handled most of our planning and she inspires confidence and calm in every interaction--which is not always easy when a couple is planning the biggest party they've ever thrown ;) We served Dagar's delicious salad and appetizers, combined with Tacodeli mains and Moojo Ice Cream sandwiches. Guests RAVED about the food (and went up for seconds and thirds) and the servers could not have been more lovely to work with! If you're looking for a caterer for an Austin event...look no further!!!

We had a great experience with them. We only used the bartending service and it was extremely reasonably priced and Mando the bartender provided awesome service. He was attentive and provided people with water and knew to hand my father-in-law with a new Miller Lite without him asking. Thanks DNA!
