James is a true pro who clearly cares deeply about the craft of DJing weddings specifically – which entails so much more than just crafting a great dance set, though he's highly skilled at that part, too. Among other things, my wife and I really appreciated how he struck a balance between honoring our preferences (even our most eccentric requests, like playing a specific remix from a random Boiler Room set) and guiding us based on his experience (e.g., encouraging us to make sure we had enough music to appeal to our older guests). We're so glad we had James on our side through our whole wedding, from ceremony to last song!

James was out-of-this world great as our DJ for our wedding at the Bowery Hotel! From our very first zoom meeting, James was such a pleasure to work with; all the way through to my wife and I's first dance, we couldn't be happier. His music taste is impeccable, he is a total pro at collaborating with other vendors, and exploring how to include your favorite music in your event was a blast. Most importantly for us, James set the tone for the evening as an MC in a way I am truly grateful for. I cannot recommend him highly enough — if you book James for your event, you'll be in the best hands.

James was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, and we'd heard the same from everyone we spoke to beforehand. He has a genuine gift for reading a room and shifting the energy exactly when it needs to, and he understood what we wanted for every part of the night. We built playlists and sent them over, and he helped us rearrange and refine them once he understood the vibe we were going for in each moment. He was generous with planning conversations whenever we asked, helped us coordinate our timeline after we presented it, and made sure our ceremony was everything we ever dreamed of! He handled all the major moments: ceremony, first dance, parent dances, and every transition in between. He provided full sound setup, mics, and speakers for the ceremony, and for cocktail hour at the hotel's lobby bar he supplied an iPad to run our playlist. He did the right amount of letting the music speak for itself, but when he did speak and MC, he brought real energy every time with exactly what we wanted.

What set James apart from other DJs was his wide range of music. We had a multicultural celebration, and he moved seamlessly between English, Arabic, Hungarian, and Spanish songs so that there was something for everyone. He coordinated with our Middle Eastern dance troupe / drummers. He is clearly knowledgeable about every genre and cultural element we threw at him, and you can tell he loves what he does. Our dance floor was full all night. We can't recommend him enough for a wedding or any event where you need someone who will deliver an amazing music experience.

We are so thrilled that James was our wedding DJ! He could not have done better. He was incredibly thorough and communicative leading up to our wedding so we had no doubts or stress on the day. James made very clear and helpful announcements when needed, and most importantly, multiple guests have told us that the music was the best they've ever had at a wedding! James had the perfect mix of older and younger songs to get everyone on the dance floor at different points in the reception, and we had many dancers going all night. He is truly the best!

James was the perfect DJ for our April wedding at the Wythe Hotel. From the start, he took the time to meet with us multiple times to really understand the exact vibe we wanted for every part of the day—from pre-ceremony and the ceremony itself to cocktail hour, dinner, and the dance floor.

We’ve all been to weddings where getting people up and dancing feels impossible, but James had our friends and family on the dance floor for most of the night. He read the room perfectly and kept the energy up while still making the music feel true to us. He also worked in some of our more unique song requests seamlessly, which made the playlist feel even more personal.

As an added bonus, he even went above and beyond his DJ duties by giving us honeymoon recommendations—just the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience.

Hiring James as our DJ was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We booked James as one of our first vendors after seeing amazing reviews online and are SO happy we did so. His well-organized wedding music worksheet was a perfect way for us to track our thoughts on cocktail hour/dinner/dancing songs as well as ceremony music/first dance songs over the course of our engagement, and we loved that we had a living document to make edits to over the months.

On the day of, James truly created the playlist of our dreams – our wedding guests are still raving over how good the dance floor was. He did a phenomenal job of adjusting the music vibe to fit the energy on the dance floor, moving seamlessly between new pop, mid-2010s pop, country, pop punk, alternative, and classics (just as we had hoped!). He was great about being flexible and running with changes to the day of schedule – he was able to accommodate a last-minute request after I realized that I wanted my processional song to start slightly later after doing the ceremony rehearsal, and was able to shift gears after speeches ran long and we had less time for a dance set. We also gave him “DJ’s choice” for the last song, and he absolutely killed it. Cannot recommend him enough if you want guests to be on the dance floor all night long!

James did our wedding in May and he was such a professional - he went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. He even alerted us to a bike race happening the weekend of our wedding so that people could adjust their driving time! He got the musical vibe perfect and people were dancing all night (which is what we wanted). Many of our friends talked about him afterwards and what a great energy he set for our day.

We felt confident we had picked the right wedding DJ from our first meeting--James was organized, had online playlists we could reference, and clearly loved music deeply.

What we didn't know was that he would make 90 people, across different generations, music tastes, and fondness of dancing feel connected by the music he played, seamlessly blending our requests with his own perfect choices. He made an incredibly fun, emotive, and beautiful soundtrack to dance to. If you have the chance to hire him for an event, I highly recommend working with him.

We originally hired James from the glowing reviews we saw here and on Reddit. From the start, we could tell he knew his stuff and really listened to us. We have been to too many weddings where the bad music completely ruined the vibe.

Leading up to the day, he was communicative & professional. Day of went unbelievably smooth! So many guests came up to us and remarked how incredible the music was and we were dancing all night. He took many on our list, but also mixed in some of his own that matched our tastes. One of my personal favorite moments is when he came up to ask if he should play a request that one of our guests made, which totally didn't match our vibe. I appreciated that he clocked that and asked me!

From our first conversation, he was incredibly professional, organized, and thoughtful. He helped us plan every musical detail, from guest arrival and the ceremony to cocktail hour, dinner, and the dance floor, and ensured the timing, transitions, and tone were seamless.

He made the planning process so easy and collaborative. He encouraged us to create a playlist of songs that represented our style and favorites, then curated a custom set that felt uniquely us. It never felt like a typical wedding playlist; it felt like our wedding.

James also went above and beyond during the reception, helping set up and test microphones and speakers for our speeches to make sure everything sounded perfect. What really stood out was how much he thought about every detail. He even helped us strategize how to get people on the dance floor by assigning a few “kick-off” guests to start the party, and sure enough, it was packed all night. The dance floor energy was incredible, and we’re still getting messages from friends and family asking for his info and saying it was some of the best wedding music they’ve ever heard.

From start to finish, James delivered a flawless experience and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. If you’re getting married at Audrey’s Farmhouse, or anywhere, honestly, hire him. You won’t regret it. 12/10 across the board.
