Cody and her team exceeded expectations during every step of our daughter's wedding planning, execution and wrap-up. The ceremony and reception were held at Mt. Ida Farm and she guided us through every step, recommending vendors, sharing great ideas, developing and managing the "to do" lists, and keeping everything moving forward smoothly. I highly recommend Cody Smith. She operates like an experienced Project Manager. She plans and executes major events flawlessly. My son married the love of his life at the Lodge located On Mount Ida Reserve about 30 minutes south of Charlottesville, VA at the end of October 2025. Cody provided a detailed schedule that was planned to the finest level of detail with appropriate color coding to call out important information. She thought of all of the possible risks and created contingency plans for each. For example, when the hair and makeup services for the bridesmaids was running 1 hour late, she bumped me to last, so that the bridesmaids would be done faster for pre-wedding photos. I also appreciated the clear guidance she provided for me throughout the day as the Mother of Groom who is often forgotten on the big day. I also threw a curve ball at the last minute when I realized that my elderly mother with balance issues and my sister who has hip surgery 10 days prior would not be able to navigate the bus steps to ride up to the wedding venue for the ceremony which was on a hill. Cody handled it without missing a beat and advised how the driver of their car could drive up the hill and park during the ceremony. Here are a few ways that Cody provided what we needed without us even asking: 1) she had a kleenex and hand warmers on my chair at the outdoor venue during the brisk October afternoon, 2) she provided warm blankets for my elderly parents and my sister recovering from hip surgery, 3) she made certain to provide plates of food for the Bride & Groom prior to the reception knowing they would be preoccupied with guests all evening, 4) she created a To Go package for the Bride & Groom at the end of the night, and 5) she had Tums readily available when my elderly mother had an upset stomach after the extravagant meal. A special shout out also to her husband who answered our questions and welcomed me as the Mother of the Groom to visit the gore and his groomsmen prior to the ceremony - he worked seamlessly with Cody. In summary, Cody is a trusted advisor who gently made recommendations and suggestions that mattered. She made all the difference and this spectacular wedding is one we will never ever forget. Cody was by far the greatest investment of our entire wedding day and entire wedding planning process! I am not exaggerating when I say she may be the greatest wedding planner out there (at least in central Virginia for sure). There was not a single detail of the planning process that Cody did not double, & triple check to ensure it was executed properly and within the expected time frame. Cody's attention to detail was only the beginning of her services though. She was the most available and flexible person I have ever worked with for anything!! We worked with Cody for about 18 months leading up to the wedding and if I texted/called/emailed her I ALWAYS had a response in less than 10 minutes, usually immediately! She not only carried out the heavy lifting of all the logistical and technical elements of the wedding planning/execution, but what I believe sets Cody apart from other planners is how much she genuinely cared about us and every other person involved. She was so conscious to check in on our stress levels and anxiety at every turn, and was there to reassure and guide everyone involved from our officiant to our vendors and of course our guests. Cody is simply an amazing wedding planner and even more amazing human!

She provided a bridal attendant who anticipated my needs before I even realized them—fixing my veil, helping when I felt overheated, and keeping me comfortable all day. Just before I walked down the aisle, Cody hugged me, told me “you’ve got this,” and instantly turned such an emotional moment into one of calm and confidence. That kind of support is priceless.

What really sets Cody apart is her heart. She treats every wedding as if it were her own and every couple as if they were family. Coming from a military family (as does my dad), it meant so much to us to work with someone so dedicated, reliable, and compassionate.

From the beginning Cody was the best choice I ever could have made for my wedding! When I decided I needed to book a planner I reached out to several planners on The Knot just to meet them, and Cody was the first one who responded and offered to speak with me that day! When we had our zoom call that day I told her how far along I was with planning and immediately I could tell how experienced she was and knowledgeable about planning weddings at my venue, Keswick Vineyards, and of all the vendors in the area. I told her I wanted help with planning the entire wedding as I only had a venue and dress picked out, and she recommended her partial planning package to me and it ended up working out perfectly! I knew during that phone call that she was a perfect match for me and I didn’t bother talking to anyone else, and I booked with her the next day! We had weekly zoom calls and were in touch everyday while hiring all our vendors. I was behind on planning AND booked my wedding date during UVA graduation weekend which is the busiest weekend in Charlottesville, but because of her expertise and great relationships with vendors, I was able to have the best vendors at my wedding! During those 8 months leading up to the wedding I was finishing my last year of college so I was extremely busy, but she made it so I barely had to lift a finger! She planned all my vendor meetings, food and cake testing, venue walkthroughs and more! She was always just an email or phone call away if I needed help with something, and it was so great how she was able to understand the vision I had for my wedding so well. Everyone that met her throughout the process fell in love with her and was so impressed! The weeks leading up to the wedding she was so reassuring and calmed all my nerves, and made sure I had everything I needed to be prepared! Even the things I forgot she had it covered, and the morning of the wedding she went to cvs to get me and my bridesmaids tampons and allergy medicine. She also helped our rehearsal run so smoothly to make sure the wedding day went perfectly! The day of the wedding was a dream, and I couldn’t have done it without her or her team! Her amazing team included a bridal attendant and groom attendant which ended up being such an amazing help. My bridal attendant was so sweet and she helped me with whatever I needed and carried all my lip products for me! Cody’s extremely detailed planning and coordination with the vendor team made the day so perfect, I can honestly say I don’t think there was a single hiccup throughout the entire day! There aren’t enough good words to say about Cody and her work speaks for itself! Please do yourself a favor and hire Cody to help you with your wedding! I can’t believe that my wedding planner ended being one of the kindest people I ever got to meet and I hope she’s in my life forever!
