Let me start out by saying I can't count the number of times before and after I got engaged that I said I would never get a wedding planner and could do it all myself with my mom (I laugh as I just typed that by the way). Well, that was until I met Cody Smith! As I began booking vendors, I continued to get asked who my wedding planner was and kept saying that I did not need one. They probably thought I was nuts. It wasn't until I booked my photographer that he explicitly told me I needed a wedding planner and the wedding planner I should hire was Cody Smith. That was hands down the best advice I received during the planning process. From our first call with Cody, we knew she was definitely our girl! As we began working with Cody, we loved everything about her. Cody is incredibly talented at what she does and on top of that is so kind and truly cares about you not as just a bride but as a person. Cody took every idea that we had for our wedding and brought it to a whole other level that I could never have imagined. The time she puts in, the detail, energy, and dedication that Cody brings makes you feel as if you are the only bride she is working with. Cody was exactly what I never knew I needed but can't describe how lucky and grateful I am to have had Cody as my wedding planner. Cody is so much more than just your wedding planner; she becomes your family. My wedding was the wedding of my dreams and perfect in every way. I can 100% say that my wedding day was perfect because I had Cody as a wedding planner. Cody, I can't thank you enough for all that you did for us and our wedding. I am so grateful for you. You are the best of the best and one of a kind, as I said in the title a gift from the Wedding Gods! If you are a bride like me who thinks you do not need a wedding planner, I am here to tell you I promise you that you do. And the wedding planner to hire is Cody.

I honestly put off writing this review because I have so many amazing things to say about working with Cody, I didn’t know how to fit it all into a few sentences. Hiring her was hands-down the best decision I made during wedding planning—second only to booking King Family Vineyards. If you want the best weekend of your life, start with those two things and everything else will fall into place.

My friends kept asking how I was so calm throughout the planning process, and the answer is simple: when you have a planner you trust with just about everything, it takes all the stress away and actually makes the whole experience fun. Cody is not only incredibly reasonable, but she consistently went above and beyond anything I expected.

I genuinely looked forward to our weekly calls (and I already miss them!), and every time I reached out with a question, she made me feel like I was her only client—even though I know she had a full plate. She’s fun, kind, incredibly organized, keeps everything on track, and has an incredible network of vendors. As my makeup artist perfectly put it, “Cody is like royalty when it comes to wedding planners.”

Cody was so amazing from start to finish! After being recommended by name from our venue, we scheduled a phone call with Cody and knew immediately that we wanted her to help us plan our wedding. Cody is so kind and personable - by the end, she felt more like family. We experienced such low wedding stress because we had full confidence that Cody had us covered. She was even able to replace a vendor that canceled on us the day of our wedding before I (the bride) ever knew anything about it - talk about quick thinking!! Our day was an absolute dream come true and we are so grateful to Cody for making that dream a reality!

Cody makes everything just seamless. From our first call, my wedding planning nerves were calmed. She knows and respects the other vendors in the industry, is so beyond organized, is lightening fast and keeps you on track to make sure all deadlines and needs are being met. She is a shoulder to lean on & always a listening ear when you need it or have an unconventional idea. The day was seamless because of her attention to detail and professionalism. I mean it when I say, I simply couldn’t have done it without her.

Cody was the best planner that I could have possibly asked for. She went absolutely above and beyond and made the wedding planning process so easy. I used her month of service but she provided so much more than that! On my wedding day I was not stressed at all about the wedding because I knew she had it covered and that was an amazing feeling. I cannot recommend her enough

Cody and her team exceeded expectations during every step of our daughter's wedding planning, execution and wrap-up. The ceremony and reception were held at Mt. Ida Farm and she guided us through every step, recommending vendors, sharing great ideas, developing and managing the "to do" lists, and keeping everything moving forward smoothly. She knows Charlottesville and the local vendors, so all suggestions and selections were top notch. I highly recommend Cody Smith. She operates like an experienced Project Manager. She plans and executes major events flawlessly. My son married the love of his life at the Lodge located On Mount Ida Reserve about 30 minutes south of Charlottesville, VA at the end of October 2025. Cody provided a detailed schedule that was planned to the finest level of detail with appropriate color coding to call out important information. She thought of all of the possible risks and created contingency plans for each. For example, when the hair and makeup services for the bridesmaids was running 1 hour late, she bumped me to last, so that the bridesmaids would be done faster for pre-wedding photos. I also appreciated the clear guidance she provided for me throughout the day as the Mother of Groom who is often forgotten on the big day. I also threw a curve ball at the last minute when I realized that my elderly mother with balance issues and my sister who has hip surgery 10 days prior would not be able to navigate the bus steps to ride up to the wedding venue for the ceremony which was on a hill. Cody handled it without missing a beat and advised how the driver of their car could drive up the hill and park during the ceremony. Here are a few ways that Cody provided what we needed without us even asking: 1) she had a kleenex and hand warmers on my chair at the outdoor venue during the brisk October afternoon, 2) she provided warm blankets for my elderly parents and my sister recovering from hip surgery, 3) she made certain to provide plates of food for the Bride & Groom prior to the reception knowing they would be preoccupied with guests all evening, 4) she created a To Go package for the Bride & Groom at the end of the night, and 5) she had Tums readily available when my elderly mother had an upset stomach after the extravagant meal. A special shout out also to her husband who answered our questions and welcomed me as the Mother of the Groom to visit the gore and his groomsmen prior to the ceremony - he worked seamlessly with Cody. In summary, Cody is a trusted advisor who gently made recommendations and suggestions that mattered. She made all the difference and this spectacular wedding is one we will never ever forget. Cody was by far the greatest investment of our entire wedding day and entire wedding planning process! I am not exaggerating when I say she may be the greatest wedding planner out there (at least in central Virginia for sure). There was not a single detail of the planning process that Cody did not double, & triple check to ensure it was executed properly and within the expected time frame. Cody's attention to detail was only the beginning of her services though. She was the most available and flexible person I have ever worked with for anything!! We worked with Cody for about 18 months leading up to the wedding and if I texted/called/emailed her I ALWAYS had a response in less than 10 minutes, usually immediately! She not only carried out the heavy lifting of all the logistical and technical elements of the wedding planning/execution, but what I believe sets Cody apart from other planners is how much she genuinely cared about us and every other person involved. She was so conscious to check in on our stress levels and anxiety at every turn, and was there to reassure and guide everyone involved from our officiant to our vendors and of course our guests. Cody is simply an amazing wedding planner and even more amazing human!
