Let me start out by saying I can't count the number of times before and after I got engaged that I said I would never get a wedding planner and could do it all myself with my mom (I laugh as I just typed that by the way). Well, that was until I met Cody Smith! As I began booking vendors, I continued to get asked who my wedding planner was and kept saying that I did not need one. They probably thought I was nuts. It wasn't until I booked my photographer that he explicitly told me I needed a wedding planner and the wedding planner I should hire was Cody Smith. That was hands down the best advice I received during the planning process. From our first call with Cody, we knew she was definitely our girl! As we began working with Cody, we loved everything about her. Cody is incredibly talented at what she does and on top of that is so kind and truly cares about you not as just a bride but as a person. Cody took every idea that we had for our wedding and brought it to a whole other level that I could never have imagined. The time she puts in, the detail, energy, and dedication that Cody brings makes you feel as if you are the only bride she is working with. Cody was exactly what I never knew I needed but can't describe how lucky and grateful I am to have had Cody as my wedding planner. Cody is so much more than just your wedding planner; she becomes your family. My wedding was the wedding of my dreams and perfect in every way. I can 100% say that my wedding day was perfect because I had Cody as a wedding planner. Cody, I can't thank you enough for all that you did for us and our wedding. I am so grateful for you. You are the best of the best and one of a kind, as I said in the title a gift from the Wedding Gods! Cody was by far the greatest investment of our entire wedding day and entire wedding planning process! I am not exaggerating when I say she may be the greatest wedding planner out there (at least in central Virginia for sure). There was not a single detail of the planning process that Cody did not double, & triple check to ensure it was executed properly and within the expected time frame. Cody's attention to detail was only the beginning of her services though. She was the most available and flexible person I have ever worked with for anything!! We worked with Cody for about 18 months leading up to the wedding and if I texted/called/emailed her I ALWAYS had a response in less than 10 minutes, usually immediately! She not only carried out the heavy lifting of all the logistical and technical elements of the wedding planning/execution, but what I believe sets Cody apart from other planners is how much she genuinely cared about us and every other person involved. She was so conscious to check in on our stress levels and anxiety at every turn, and was there to reassure and guide everyone involved from our officiant to our vendors and of course our guests. Cody is simply an amazing wedding planner and even more amazing human! -

I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to explaining how much Cody Smith and her team mean to my husband and me. When my dad first told me he had found us a wedding planner, my parents thought they could manage without one—but very quickly realized just how essential Cody would be. There are so many details that go into a wedding, and she guided us through every single one with such care and expertise.
From the start, Cody went beyond logistics—she took the time to truly know me, then my husband and me as a couple, and eventually both of our families. Before long, she didn’t just feel like our planner—she felt like family. To me personally, she even felt like another mother: someone who guided me, cared for me, and stood beside me through every emotional moment of the process.
Every week, she checked in with updates, timelines, and clear next steps. She made everything so easy and stress-free, always staying two steps ahead. More than that, she checked in on me—making sure I felt calm, supported, and excited instead of overwhelmed. She has a rare ability to combine professionalism with genuine kindness, and it made the entire experience a joy.
Cody is also unbelievably creative. I showed her a single photo of the vibe I was going for and pointed out the little details that mattered to me—like tassels on menus and amazing food—and she brought it all to life flawlessly. Our guests were in awe, and even our venue staff said they had never seen such a stunning wedding, with the perfect balance of detail and a timeline that ran seamlessly down to the minute.
On the wedding day itself, Cody and her team were absolute rockstars. She provided a bridal attendant who anticipated my needs before I even realized them—fixing my veil, helping when I felt overheated, and keeping me comfortable all day. Just before I walked down the aisle, Cody hugged me, told me “you’ve got this,” and instantly turned such an emotional moment into one of calm and confidence. That kind of support is priceless.
What really sets Cody apart is her heart. She treats every wedding as if it were her own and every couple as if they were family. Coming from a military family (as does my dad), it meant so much to us to work with someone so dedicated, reliable, and compassionate.
Cody isn’t just a wedding planner—she is the reason our day was flawless, joyful, and completely stress-free. My husband and I cannot imagine our wedding without her. If you want a planner who is professional, organized, endlessly creative, and truly cares about you as a couple, Cody is the one. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone.

We hired Cody Smith to plan our daughter’s recent wedding, and we could not have been more pleased from beginning to end. Cody’s knowledge of the entire wedding industry and all of the key vendors is unparalleled, and she knows what is important and what is optional. She will be able to help you accomplish your goals for your wedding, whatever your budget may be. Her attention to every possible detail and her ability to make everything run smoothly is unbelievable. Our groom’s parents were so impressed that they used her for the rehearsal dinner, and they would have the same opinion.
But even more important that than all her technical knowledge and skill is her attitude and personality. She’s calm, positive, and reassuring, especially if things get tense or emotional, as they will at times. She’s a steady hand at the wheel and takes so much stress off of the parents and the bride and groom. There is no one that I would rather have manage a wedding, which is a complex undertaking.

From the beginning Cody was the best choice I ever could have made for my wedding! When I decided I needed to book a planner I reached out to several planners on The Knot just to meet them, and Cody was the first one who responded and offered to speak with me that day! When we had our zoom call that day I told her how far along I was with planning and immediately I could tell how experienced she was and knowledgeable about planning weddings at my venue, Keswick Vineyards, and of all the vendors in the area. I told her I wanted help with planning the entire wedding as I only had a venue and dress picked out, and she recommended her partial planning package to me and it ended up working out perfectly! I knew during that phone call that she was a perfect match for me and I didn’t bother talking to anyone else, and I booked with her the next day! We had weekly zoom calls and were in touch everyday while hiring all our vendors. I was behind on planning AND booked my wedding date during UVA graduation weekend which is the busiest weekend in Charlottesville, but because of her expertise and great relationships with vendors, I was able to have the best vendors at my wedding! During those 8 months leading up to the wedding I was finishing my last year of college so I was extremely busy, but she made it so I barely had to lift a finger! She planned all my vendor meetings, food and cake testing, venue walkthroughs and more! She was always just an email or phone call away if I needed help with something, and it was so great how she was able to understand the vision I had for my wedding so well. Everyone that met her throughout the process fell in love with her and was so impressed! The weeks leading up to the wedding she was so reassuring and calmed all my nerves, and made sure I had everything I needed to be prepared! Even the things I forgot she had it covered, and the morning of the wedding she went to cvs to get me and my bridesmaids tampons and allergy medicine. She also helped our rehearsal run so smoothly to make sure the wedding day went perfectly! The day of the wedding was a dream, and I couldn’t have done it without her or her team! Her amazing team included a bridal attendant and groom attendant which ended up being such an amazing help. My bridal attendant was so sweet and she helped me with whatever I needed and carried all my lip products for me! Cody’s extremely detailed planning and coordination with the vendor team made the day so perfect, I can honestly say I don’t think there was a single hiccup throughout the entire day! There aren’t enough good words to say about Cody and her work speaks for itself! Please do yourself a favor and hire Cody to help you with your wedding! I can’t believe that my wedding planner ended being one of the kindest people I ever got to meet and I hope she’s in my life forever! -

It’s difficult to put into words how much Cody did for our wedding day. My mom found her for full time planning almost 2 years ago, and she has been an integral part of our lives ever since. Her responsiveness is unmatched (and something I have not seen in any industry quite frankly), the organization and attention to every detail was incredible. What makes her stand out however is her genuine care, compassion, and kindness to her brides and their families. She is a friend, a confidant, and occasionally a therapist when the stress of planning a wedding for 200+ people got to me. I have a lot of friends that have gotten married this past year and when I shared how our planner was taking care of us, they were shocked as none of their planners took care of them the way Cody did.
The other vendors she recommended were also top tier. Every single person she put in front of us was nothing short of amazing, kind, and professional and by the time the wedding day came around they were a well oiled machine. Her staff made us feel so special on the day of, including standing in the POURING RAIN after our ceremony with huge smiles on their faces ready to help us.
This review doesn’t even do her, or her team justice. Cody is an incredible person and I am so lucky that she was our planner and I will remember her as such an important part of our day.

If you’re looking for someone to keep your wedding day (and your sanity) intact, stop your search and hire Cody.
I don’t say this lightly: Cody saved me. Wedding planning is hard enough, but trying to do it while juggling a high-pressure, soul-crushing job that had me working until midnight and crying almost daily? I genuinely thought I was going to break. Enter Cody—a calm, capable, endlessly supportive force who got me down the aisle with grace, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.
Cody was so much more than a planner. She became a true friend—someone who believed in every one of my creative, out-there ideas and encouraged me not just as a bride, but as a human being trying to stay afloat. She championed all the weird, whimsical touches I wanted (including my quest for cocktail hour alpacas, which she pursued for weeks despite ridiculous insurance and weather challenges). She even did my flowers herself so I could make my dream venue work within my budget. Who does that? Cody does.
My fiancé is Japanese, and without even being asked, Cody thoughtfully wove touches of his family’s culture throughout the experience in ways that were both sweet and meaningful. Her attention to detail, her professionalism, and her empathy are unmatched.

When my younger daughter became engaged shortly after her older sister's wedding, after family, Cody was my first call! Cody took time to understand the couple's preferences and provided ideas and suggestions that aligned with their goals for the event. It was helpful that I understood Cody's process for organizing all of the information, but she didn't skip a step for the couple, who didn't see the behind the scenes of planning the other family wedding. Cody kept everyone on track and connected us with wonderful vendors. She was at every meeting to make sure that communications between the couple and the vendors were completely clear. As a result, I think that all of the wedding events went as expected and wonderfully reflected the choices the couple made. Cody and her team were simply fantastic! Our daughter's January wedding on a mountain in central Virginia was seamless and a tremendous success as a result of Cody's meticulous efforts. She kept us on track by: reminding us of deadlines, for example of vendors' requirements; preparing (and updating as needed) timelines for rehearsal and day of; staying in contact with us and our vendors; meeting with us and vendors as needed; and being hands-on throughout. On both days, she brought in team members who really knew what they were doing. When the venue didn't live up to expectations, she jumped in, shoveling snow on the ceremony deck, ferrying guests to and from the Friday evening welcome dinner as the snow wasn't sufficiently shoveled to allow guests to walk, setting the table decor. Guest after guest commented on what a terrific job she was doing. We have no hesitation in recommending her for a spectacular experience.

If you’re getting married, hire Cody. As the MOB, I can unequivocally say that she was the very best money we spent. That could be the entire review, but please allow me to brag on her a bit.
Our only child was married in October 2024 and from our very first call with Cody in 2021, long before we hired her, she was adding value, offering suggestions and freely giving us pointers. Her calm, confident demeanor made every single interaction with her so easy. Throughout the entire 15 months of planning, she was so quick to answer a text, phone call or email that we often wondered if she ever slept. We truly felt like we had our bff by our side the whole time.
Cody is resourceful, responsive and highly respected among all of the wedding vendors, but also respectful of your wants and wishes. She’s committed to making your vision a reality and she has the experience, contacts and sweet team to pull it off.
However, the greatest gift she offered and something that can’t possibly be measured, was the peace the week of the wedding. We were able to relax and enjoy all of the pre-wedding festivities and all of our out of town guests, knowing that Cody had everything under control. She managed every aspect and answered any question that arose, so we were able to be wholly present during the celebration. Our friends and family were in absolute awe and are still going on about the perfection of all of it.
The day of the wedding felt serene, sacred and filled with joy. We were completely stress-free knowing that Cody was implementing our every wish. Being able to soak in all of the beauty of the day was PRICELESS and when all of the festivities were over, we were left with a best friend.

There are simply not enough words to give Cody the due credit she deserves in a succinct review. What I can say with certainty is she was by far the BEST decision we made in planning our wedding. From the very beginning, she made us feel at ease, and it was her down to earth nature (and exemplary responsiveness and organization) that made choosing her as a planner a no brainer (I don’t think anyone can respond to an email faster). She patiently guided us through every decision (and there were so many decisions!!!) and helped us both curate and achieve our vision all whilst keeping our styles and budget in mind. We felt that all the steps were personal and not “cookie-cutter” so that our wedding was unique and representative of us as a couple. She got to know us as people, and our families, so that on wedding weekend we could come to her with anything. Because she made sure everything was done in a timely manner, we were able to truly ENJOY our wedding week and weekend. We received so many compliments on the day, which I truly credit to Cody. Her attendants were equally as kind and organized as Cody. Both the bridal attendant and groom attendant made sure the day went smoothly and we had everything we needed. Her husband also helped the day of, filling in some gaps. We had excellent vendors, all recommendations by Cody, and we could tell she was well respected in the industry when every time we told a vendor we were working with Cody they would say “Oh, you’re in good hands. You have nothing to worry about”. I can say the same thing to anyone who hires Cody and is lucky enough to have her by your side in your planning process and your wedding weekend.

I don't know where to start with this woman! She is a superhero! Hiring Cody will be the most important decision you make in getting married - possibly more so than who you've decided to marry!
I work for a popular wedding venue where Cody is a frequent planner for our clients and after Cody initially declined my inquiry due to availability, I had a coworker and mutual friend of Cody's reach out to convince her after I was on an email chain from coworkers praising Cody as the best planner (and florist!). (The venue for my own wedding didnt require a planner so I naively thought maybe I could get away with having friends and family help - what a crazy idea!) I have worked at my workplace venue for 6 years and never heard my coworkers compliment any of the planners, but this was high praise!! They all convinced me I needed her and thank God she was able to take us on.
From the moment we had our initial call with her until even today AFTER our wedding, she has continued to show an exceptional level of care, attention, kindness, knowledge of the business, respect and love for you and all that she does. It is clear for anyone (including all of our wedding guests) to see after just one interraction with her just how talented and amazing she is as a wedding planner and as a human being. She will become part of your family. She will be the Houdini behind your magical wedding. She goes above and beyond in ways you wouldn't even imagine - shoveling snow, stepping in to shuttle guests in her own vehicle, pushing guests cars after being stuck in snow, hounding the venue and other vendors to keep everything in sync and running smoothly - she thinks of every detail and always has an answer for you.
I could go on and on but you've got a wedding to plan! So, just leave that to Cody - dont think twice. You dont just need a planner (even if you don't think you do yet - you will be laughing at that silly notion soon enough) - you NEED Cody!

Hiring Cody as our wedding planner was the best decision that we had made in the entire wedding planning process. Cody is extremely organized, thoughtful and creative. My husband and I both absolutely loved working with Cody to plan our wedding at Pippin Hill, and I don’t think we could have pulled it off without her. Hiring Cody was our very first step in wedding planning, and we knew immediately from our first call with her that we didn’t want to work with anyone else. We could tell that Cody was going to not only listen to our concerns, but make suggestions tailored to us and our vision, as well as her experience in the industry.
Cody not only helped us plan our out of state wedding in 6 months, but neither my husband nor I could spare a lot of time away from our jobs to spend wedding planning. We completely trusted Cody to make certain decisions for us (she designed everything!) and to recommend high-quality and trustworthy vendors in the area. In our early stages of planning, having Cody narrow down photographers, bands, transportation, cake bakeries, officiants, and hotels for us was invaluable. It saved us hours and hours of research and decision-making, and we knew we could trust Cody’s taste and prior experience with these vendors. No matter what our choice was, we knew we couldn’t go wrong because all vendors had already been vetted by Cody.
Cody made every step in the process and every decision so easy; she listened to what we wanted and made recommendations based on that. If we disagreed on something, she clearly explained her reasoning, which was usually based on a prior experience at our venue or with a certain vendor. Her expertise in both the Charlottesville region and Pippin Hill is a large part of why we hired her, as she seems to know everyone and every available option. Once we began meeting with vendors, every single person told us how much they enjoy working with Cody.
A lot of other reviewers have mentioned Cody’s weekly calls and how helpful they are, which I completely agree with. As a bride with a busy job, I can’t emphasize enough their importance. Rather than be in constant contact all week long (which would not work with my schedule), Cody and I had weekly standing meetings that were extremely organized and efficient. Cody would first ask if there was anything I had questions or concerns about, and then we would run down our to-do list for the week. If my husband or I had questions in between calls, we never hesitated to contact Cody, and she would respond immediately. I really appreciated Cody being flexible around our work schedules – we scheduled calls after work if necessary, and Cody even helped us schedule our design meeting, tasting at Pippin Hill, our cake tasting, and my hair and makeup trial in a 2-day period over a holiday to make it easier for us. We could tell that she tried to make the process as efficient as possible for us, which we are extremely grateful for.
Our wedding day itself was absolutely perfect. Everything (to our knowledge) went smoothly, and my husband and I were able to enjoy the day without thinking about any logistics. Cody executed her design plan flawlessly and so many guests told us how beautiful everything was. From the flowers (that Cody did herself!), to the signage, to the details that I never would’ve thought of (a petal toss as we walked down the aisle), everything was beautiful and perfectly executed. I am not design-inclined and left a lot of these decisions to Cody – what she executed was better than I had imagined, and I was extremely happy with the end result. -

Cody exceeded expectations. She kept us organized and when we were not organized, she reminded us of what we needed to do. Working with Cody was the best choice me and my husband made for planning our special day. She was so responsive and constantly communicating with us to ensure that all our major deadlines were met without worry. She facilitated the communication with my other vendors- one less thing I had to worry about while I was working full time. She was immensely organized as well. She never missed a beat and noted every last thing I would say or a vendor would say to ensure a flawless execution that fit my vision. The best decision I made for my wedding was hiring Cody.
Our wedding day itself could not have been more special. Cody delivered on everything we wanted and then some. There were several times that night I just had to give Cody a big hug, given how perfect everything was.
From our first conversation, it was clear she would offer a personalized service, and that she deeply cared about making our wedding special. She got to know us so well over a short period of time that she was able to accurately predict each choice of vendor we would make before we did. It got to the point that I just asked her to provide her first choice, and then one alternative so I could price compare (and we always picked the first choice!)
She remained in constant communication leading up to the wedding, and made sure we stayed on schedule and were on track at every step. Her planning documents were meticulous yet made everything easy to keep track of.
As I mentioned, the wedding itself blew my already high expectations out of the water. From the moment she showed up on the day-of to the last moment of the reception, Cody and her team had everything covered and running smoothly. Even when we had an emergency come up with our wedding suits, her team was able to fix the problem quickly and make sure everything was perfect! As an extremely type-A person, it's hard for me to not stress about the details, but I was able to just relax and enjoy myself all night knowing Cody was handling whatever would come up.

As a reference from my wedding photographer, Cody Smith Weddings is the absolute best! Cody is such a quality wedding planner!
Cody always had my best interest at heart! I immediately realized that I could trust in Cody’s advice, whether it be with vendors or just my own design ideas. With Cody being excellent with communicating amongst vendors and myself, I did not ever have to deal with any issues during our wedding planning. Cody and I would speak once a week, those calls helped so much with every aspect of the wedding design plan. Cody also has such a creative vision, this vision made for such a unique design plan for my wedding. With Cody’s ideas, maracas were placed on the guests’ seats at the ceremony to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us as we said our vows! Cody was ever present in creating a personalized online wedding document for us, helping us to keep up with all the details of our wedding. Cody also created a detailed wedding timeline for the wedding party and all of the vendors for our wedding day. Cody made sure that all of our wedding dreams would come true!
The day of the wedding, it was evident just how much attention to detail that Cody had given to our special day. Everything was in place and perfect! The details and our venue, absolutely stunning!
Cody made sure that my bridesmaids and I were well taken care of on my wedding day. She assigned Lillian as our bridal assistant. My wedding dress was a ball gown, Lillian carried my dress everywhere with me. I do not believe that my dress ever touched the ground on my wedding day. I also had a very elongated and detailed veil, Lillian made sure that my veil was always in place during our first look and wedding ceremony. Lillian even helped fix sewing detail with my bridesmaids dresses. Impressive! She was always asking if we needed anything or could help us in any way. She was the sweetest and so caring with us girls! By the end of the night, I absolutely adored her!

If you are trying to decide on a wedding planner, there is no need to look any further. HIRE CODY! From our very first phone call, I knew we would be in great hands. Cody is communicative, honest, transparent, patient, and incredibly detail-oriented (this is an understatement - she has a plan for absolutely every scenario). Cody has a contagious warmth and her passion for wedding planning is clear in all that she does. After our wedding night send-off, my husband and I got into the car and literally looked at each other and said "Cody is amazing."
Cody will make you feel heard throughout the entire wedding planning process. This is SO important since planning can feel like a whirlwind at times. She has a delicate way of navigating varying preferences while also expressing her own advice/recommendations from years of industry experience.

Simply put, Cody is a fantastic wedding planner, with an incredibly devoted team behind her, who will ensure that all of your needs and concerns will be taken care of to the fullest extent. My wife and I live in NYC, and hired Cody to plan our wedding which was located in rural Virgina, about 45-minutes outside of Charlottesville. We had a short engagement - about 9 months - and due to the timing, as well as the venue's location, there were a ton of logistical concerns and robust coordination that needed to be figured out to make sure the day was a success. From the second we hired her, Cody had every minute detail spec'd out, and was exceptionally communicative with both us, and the myriad of vendors we hired, naturally creating such a trustful relationship that we never felt that there was any stone left unturned or any red flags or concerns that coordination with anyone was off. She planned the entire weekend down to the second, and ensured that anyone involved in the wedding (parents, friends, vendors, etc.) knew the precise details of where they needed to be, when, and what their role was. I had high expectations going into the planning process (because I'm OCD as hell), but she just absolutely crushed it and far exceeded what my wife and I thought was possible. We were always going to have a great time, but the bar was certainly raised with Cody behind the scenes planning everything. Lastly, I just want to shout out Binta, one of Cody's staffers, who essentially shadowed me (the groom) throughout the entire afternoon of our wedding. I didn't know that was going to be the case, but damn am I happy that Binta was around. Anything I wanted, or needed, she was there ready to help, and was just enjoyable to be around. Cody is the best!
I can say Cody was hands down the absolute key to the success of our rehearsal dinner and wedding. We had a TON of complicated logistics because we did the wedding at my parent's house with 200 people, and we had to bring in everything for the ceremony and reception. I seriously wouldn't change anything about the day, and it's all thanks to Cody! I know every bride probably says this, but we got so many compliments on every detail from our guests and several people that told us this was the best wedding they've been to in a long time!
Cody was amazing about respecting my hard lines but also being really clear about risks and her recommendations based on her experience. She's seen it all (500 weddings!) and usually has a story from her previous wedding to support her suggestion! I often changed my mind based on her recommendation, and was so glad I did because of how well my day went! Cody is just so on top of everything, and there are about 20 things I wouldn't have even thought about without her. Her organization process made budgeting, tracking decisions made, and staying on top of to-dos so much easier.
Her team was also incredible. It made such a difference in having the day go smoothly to have some folks help out. I know this seems like a place you can cut budget-wise (i thought about it), but do. not. do. it. I would not have been able to enjoy the day because of all the last-minute logistics and issues that pop up. Instead, they just handled everything, and I was able to enjoy the best day of my life!
Finally, on a personal note, I just love Cody as a person. She is so sweet and wonderful - I'd consider her a friend at this point, and I'm sad that we don't have an excuse to talk weekly anymore. All four of our parents were very involved in the wedding weekend and have very different personalities as well as budgets. Cody helped smooth all of the edges, and every single set of parents is obsessed with her. My parents even want to continue having weddings on their property ... "but only if Cody plans it"

From start to finish, our experience with Cody Smith Weddings was Excellent! Our wedding was in Fair Field, Virginia. The Bride and Groom live in New York, one set of parents in VA and the other set in NC. We needed professional help and recommendations and Cody was the perfect person to pull it all together. She coordinated every detail of the wedding: Invitations and Paper Goods, Florist, Catering, Bakery, Rehearsal Dinner location, Bus Transportation to and from the Ceremony to three hotels, Tent needs and Installation, the Band’s needs, Chair Rentals and Placements, Porta Potties, etc. You name it and she did it: she thought of Every detail. She is excellent in communicating and keeping everyone involved on schedule and manages to do so without making any one mad! She’s a marvel.
She was easily the best money spent on the wedding! We could not have pulled off this wedding without Cody and her team! Her team’s Day of Wedding catering to the Wedding Party was exemplary and made the Wedding Day much more peaceful, streamlined and fun.

Living hours away from Charlottesville and not knowing anyone from the area made our search for a wedding planner a daunting task. With lady luck on our side, we found Cody Smith. After my very first phone call with Cody, I felt she was the right person for the job with her years of wedding planning experience and extensive knowledge of the Charlottesville area. Not only is she an amazing human being but she is great at what she does. From the very beginning, she set the tone by having an open line of communication to make sure our wedding day vision would come to fruition. She provided my fiancé and I easy to follow spreadsheets and documents to make sure we were on a solid timeline as well as track our progress with the vendors. Cody made the entire process painless by introducing us to many of the vendors that we wouldn’t have known of since we didn’t live in the area.

Ten months ago I began planning my daughter’s wedding. I knew exactly what I wanted and had all the major vendors under contract. Vendors asked if I had a wedding planner. No; I don’t need a wedding planner. Every vendor asked that I reconsider and all gave me the same name, Cody Smith. I agreed to talk with Cody.
I explained to Cody everything I had done so far and what exactly I had in mind for my daughter’s wedding day. Cody ran through her services, and I saw value in that. I agreed to hire her as a partial wedding planner, although still not convinced I really needed one.
Cody immediately jumped into action. I sent her all my vendor contracts. In return I got a spreadsheet containing multiple tabs full of things I never even knew needed to be considered. Cody’s timeline was something I could never create if you gave me ten years to plan the wedding. Cody knew these vendors and they knew Cody. They worked hand-in-hand throughout. Cody knew down to the minute the time needed for each vendor to complete their task and the order in which it needed to be done. The draft timeline was sent to every vendor multiple times for their input and editing until it was perfect.
Cody’s floorplan for each of our venue rooms was incredible. The intricacies of the setup, the flow, the spacing, the arrangement of tables and bars and stations, again things I did not have the knowledge or experience to have done myself.
If Cody had done nothing more than provided me with the timeline and the floorplan, she had already far exceeded my expectations and earned her fee. But there was more: weekly scheduled calls; fielding questions from vendors; getting my questions/concerns addressed with vendors; suggestions on how to do things better, differently, and sometimes less expensively; walking me through liquor licenses and required insurances; ensuring all my vendors were compliant with venue requirements. The list is endless.
Cody’s staff was incredible. Ten months of planning every detail, and still unexpected hiccups arise. Last minute steaming of every gown/suit, delivering the deacon to the ceremony, sewing on buttons that pop off, ensuring the bride eats, sudden spot on maid of honor dress, tissues on our seats, placing dancing shoes under our table for later in the night, carrying clutch and makeup bags from place to place so they were at the ready when needed, getting every remedy known for a Father of the Bride who suddenly lost his voice and thereby ensuring he was able to give that very special toast to his daughter, studying weather radar to ensure we were able to get fireworks off, and so many more things.
So as the Mother of the Bride that didn’t need a wedding planner, what did I get? I got a detailed timeline and floorplan that I didn’t have the knowledge nor the experience to develop. I got vendors who worked seamlessly and hand-in-hand with one another through Cody’s coordination. I got time back in my life by not having to handle every little issue that came up. I got suggestions and help in developing and implementing ideas I had for the wedding. I saved money and headaches through Cody’s contacts and her ability to work with them. I got Cody’s staff that ensured every detail and hiccup on the wedding day was taken care of. I got guests who commented how smoothly and flawlessly the day went.
Most importantly what I got from Cody and her staff was a wedding day that went seamlessly. After all the time, money, and work that went into the wedding, they gave my husband and I the ability to truly enjoy every minute of that day with our daughter, and that was priceless.
In the end, this Mother of the Bride that didn’t need a wedding planner got an incredible day that she now knows and admits she was not experienced nor knowledgeable enough to accomplish without help. In the end, we got more than a wedding planner; we got a friend for life. -

I can't begin to express how grateful my (now ❤️) wife and I are to Cody and her team for making our wedding the most amazing, romantic, magical day of our lives!!! From start to finish, Cody was there for us every step of the way. She brings a level of passion, organization, warmth and love to her work that is truly rare to find in any field. It's so obvious that she loves what she does, and she is very very good at it!
One of the things I appreciate most about Cody is how accessible she was through the entire planning process. Planning a wedding can be nerve wracking. There are so many details. Cody was always available to talk us through decisions and always responded very quickly to texts and emails. She has a thorough knowledge of all the local vendors and was always able to come up with suggestions for us when we were stumped. The value she brings to the table was well above and beyond what we were expecting.
When disaster struck in the middle of our planning and we had to make major changes, Cody immediately leaped into action and saved the day. She was so reassuring through the entire process. I really don't know what we would have done without her.
For the day of the wedding, Cody and her team Binta and Meg made sure everything ran like clockwork. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves completely thanks to the amazing job they did of making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be, when they were supposed to be there. It really felt like being taken care of by family.

Superlative. So far and away beyond any expectation I had for a wedding planner. Cody not only gives world-class, above-and-beyond service, but she’s also a really awesome and cool individual to whom I was very sad to say goodbye.
When a primary vendor backed out on us only 6 weeks out, Cody found a backup nearly overnight which was better than our original. I forgot my shoes and handbag en route to my rehearsal dinner (which would have made me 30 minutes late!), and Cody brought them to me so I would be on time. She had spot-on recommendations for elevated style choices throughout the planning process, great vendor recommendations, and was available around the clock for us. Her day-of team took care of everything - steaming our wedding party garments, setting up the welcome table and all the ceremony decor, moving (a LOT) of flowers from the ceremony to the reception area (which enabled us to save a ton of money), setting up the reception dining decorations, and then packing all my things from my get-ready afternoon into my car during the reception.
I could not imagine more from a wedding planner nor recommend her enough. Thank you so much Cody for making our wedding come together and be so gorgeous!!! -

Cody is a true professional and expert in the field of wedding planning. She made our day absolutely perfect and navigated several issues with our venue (which we booked pre-Cody) in such a way that we didn’t have to feel the stress of what was going on. She is so warm and friendly while also being a clear rockstar at what she does, leading with confidence and a clear vision for how to get things done. She made amazing timelines for our vendors and our bridal party that made sure everything was working in lockstep. Her wedding day team was out of this world and super attentive to the bridesmaids and groomsmen while she finalized ceremony and venue details. If you hire no other vendor for your wedding, HIRE CODY. She was incredible from start to finish, and there is no way I can put into words how much she did for us and our wedding day. We hired her for full-planning services on the recommendation of a friend who is a vendor in the industry (if someone has been working in the wedding industry for 10+ years and recommends someone, you know they are going to be excellent). As soon as I talked to Cody on the phone for the first time, I felt my stress level reduce and knew that everything would be great. From the start, she made planning feel manageable by giving us a task list with due dates, sharing contacts and spreadsheets to keep us organized, and scheduling weekly phone calls to check-in and discuss progress. She was extremely accessible, available to chat at ANY time outside of our scheduled phone calls, and was my go-to person for everything wedding related. She became both a friend and a professional guide (and maybe even a bit of a therapist, ha!), which is exactly what you want in a wedding planner.
Cody has planned 500+ weddings over the course of her career, and her expertise was invaluable. I swear that wedding planning is both her craft and a higher calling. She is hyper-organized and fully dedicated to her couples. She was an advocate for us throughout the entire process, managing vendor and family drama with immense finesse and professionalism. She worked within our budget to help craft the wedding of our dreams, and I definitely think we SAVED money by hiring her because she helped us decide what was and was not worth the expense to meet our goals!
Beyond everything she did to plan our wedding, I cannot say enough about what she did to SAVE our wedding on the day-of. Despite a mid-March wedding date, we had a huge snow storm move in the morning of our wedding. There was a layer of ice underneath inches of snow, whiteout conditions, high winds, and we LOST POWER AND WATER at the venue for 7 hours. Cody had already come up with Plans B and C for bad weather leading up to the date, and was in constant communication with all of our vendors (and the power company!) to make sure everything happened according to plan. Since the road was dangerous during the morning, she had her husband shuttle our vendors up and down the mountain and got a generator put in the bridal suite so we could still get our hair done. She had already put into place her plans for getting generators for the bistro lights and the DJ, worked with our string trio to extend their booking so we would have live music for cocktail hour and dinner, and sent people out to buy bottled water. The power and lights luckily turned on an hour before the ceremony started, but honestly I had so much confidence in Cody's ability to manage the situation that I never even got stressed about it! I know that there was much more happening behind the scenes on the day-of that she never told me about because she didn't want to stress me out. Throughout the entire day, I knew that Cody had it covered no matter what, so I was able to enjoy. Looking back, I know that had anyone else been managing the wedding, it likely would have fallen apart. But Cody kept everything together and made our day-of experience extremely special. Her staff, Phoebe and Binta, were amazing and made sure we stayed on time, felt cared for, and had nothing left to worry about. Even the vendors on the day-of kept sharing their astonishment that things went on without a hitch despite the conditions.
I cannot rave enough about our experience working with Cody. She is exceptional, and the wedding planner that you need. -

If you truly want to know just how incredibly Cody is, consider the fact that I am writing this review and my wedding is still 10 months away. When I was inquiring of what felt like hundreds of wedding planners, Cody was the only one who emailed me within the hour and immediately requested that we jump on a phone call together to talk more about the wedding and me and my fiance as a couple. It was less than 5 minutes into the call that I knew she was the wedding planner for us. Cody has truly gone ABOVE & BEYOND in helping me plan my wedding from creating our layout, giving me a list of vendors & recommendations to secure, helping me negotiate rates with the vendors and pointing me in the right direction when I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. Shoot, she even secured me an incredible caterer after they had already told me my venue was too far away because even the catering company knows she is worth it. Cody is so incredibly knowledgeable on ALL things wedding related. I honestly couldn't imagine trying to plan this wedding without her. She may not have a ton of reviews just yet, but I guarantee you will not be even the slightest bit disappointed with her service.
