City Flats in Grand Rapids was so easy to work with, and made our wedding just what we wanted! Morgan and her team were professional and highly organized. They had great recommendations for how to get family members involved in set up, went out of their way to source the dessert we wanted (root beer floats!), and the day of were very available to help. We felt like we were in great hands the whole process. For the space itself - it is absolutely beautiful and the perfect downtown location. The Ballroom for the ceremony allowed to lots of natural light, while being indoors and protected from the elements. The Events room worked perfectly for cocktail hour, and we were able to use the sound system to run some games. The reception in the Ballroom was gorgeous, and required minimal decorations because the room was so beautiful. Highly recommend!

I cant rave about this venue enough! Everything was absolutely wonderful. The ballroom is so beautiful, the staff was great, the food was amazing, the lighting was EVERYTHING and it set the whole mood during our reception. Morgan Fisher was so pleasant to work with. The Ballroom at City Flats is an elegant venue with beautiful architecture, and the service was phenomenal. Coordinators Morgan and Lindsay were organized and responsive. City Flats provides most items needed for a reception, even lighting, so planning was easier, but the staff is what made City Flats a great place to have a reception. Staff helped make sure everything was ready. The dinner service was especially efficient, which enabled the bride and groom and their guests to enjoy the evening.

I'm going to start by saying the photos on here don't do the space justice at all. The room is STUNNING. I was honestly amazed when we did our first tour bc I wasn't sure if I'd like it based on the pictures, but immediately when I walked in it was a yes. My guests were in awe of how gorgeous the space was. They loved how the bar was an old time bank teller's station (the whole ballroom they converted from an old bank). The room is much grander in person. Morgan & Lindsay BOTH made our wedding wonderful. They were easy to communicate with from the start and were so responsive to all of my questions and emails...and there were a lot because I planned our wedding living 2 hours away. They allowed my special requests and were very on the ball and detail oriented. I am SO grateful to how organized they were for our event. The awesome part too is that the room is so beautiful you hardly have to spend anything on décor! The food was also great! My guests raved about the mac & cheese bar we did during cocktail hour, the dinner, the ice cream bar, and the popcorn table! Not to mention I heard several drunken compliments about the cheese that came with our late night snack of soft pretzels which I thought was funny. The flow of the event and everything leading up to the event was a breeze, and I cannot thank them enough so providing such a stress-free enjoyable day for us!

I cannot say enough good about working with the City Flats team! They are professional, accommodating, responsive and literally help with every step of the preparation for your big day. We had our wedding and reception here on Halloween 2021 and the space was absolutely perfect and complimented our theme quite well. From the moment I stepped foot into the ballroom I knew this was our spot and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. The food was delicious, staff on point and honestly for a Sunday wedding it was very affordable! We had about 80 guests and didn’t end up spending a fortune for such an inclusive venue and staff. Highly recommend!

The ballroom at CityFlats is a beautiful venue for both a ceremony and reception, and the food for our reception was top-notch. The space clearly speaks for itself, but what sold us is the amazing staff! We LOVED our experience with Morgan and are so thankful for the time and thoughtfulness she put into everything. You’re not just paying for the space, you’re paying for the incredible customer service!

I'm not even sure where to begin raving about my experience with CityFlatsHotel, but I suppose I should start at the beginning.

I reached out to the CityFlatsHotel team via WeddingWire in early autumn 2019 for pricing. We knew we wanted to do an off-season wedding to save money, and I was absolutely blown away by how reasonable both the on- and off-season pricing was at CityFlatsHotel. We made an appointment to go visit their venues, but after seeing pictures of the Ballroom I was almost immediately sold.

Long story short, we only toured one other venue. After walking through CityFlats' Ballroom, I was ready to sign the paperwork on the spot and couldn't have been more excited about hosting our reception there!

We planned to have our wedding the first Friday in November, and I was astounded by just how much was included with the relatively-small price-tag compared to any other venue I'd gotten pricing from. Seriously, I don't think I found another venue as beautiful as this one whose price-tag included floor-length linens, Chiavari chairs, charger plates, and an absurd amount more as part of the already-inexpensive room rental cost!

From there on communication was excellent. Fast responses to my emailed questions, a team eager and happy to hop on a call if I ever needed it, and this overwhelming sense of peace that no matter what happened, they'd be willing to help us out to the best of their ability. And as we all know, something rather big happened in March 2020.

I didn't anticipate a worldwide event to sweep through all our wedding plans like a hurricane, but even when it did the CityFlats team remained supportive, informational, helpful and incredibly kind to us.

We originally scheduled our wedding for November 2020, but at the end of July/beginning of August 2020 my then-fiance and I sat down and decided that we needed to 1) move our wedding date up, 2) reduce our guest list, and 3) move the whole shindig outside, which (due to their location downtown) CityFlats was unfortunately unable to accommodate.

One might think that our journey with CityFlats would have stopped there, riddled with bitter feelings and lost deposits, but let me assure you that it didn't. I reached out to our coordinator, Katarina, about our options. Unsurprisingly, she was incredibly accommodating, and we came to the consensus that we'd use the money we'd put down on the room rental towards catered food for our newly-outdoor reception.

This was another area their team went above and beyond, completely exceeding all of my expectations. Our reception was held in Holland instead of Grand Rapids, and we were worried about how the (INCREDIBLY delicious) food would hold up during the nearly-hour-long drive. Their chef, Chris, came back and said they could prepare the food at their parent company's downtown Holland location, Sperry's, which was only 15 minutes away from our new reception venue, as well as deliver the food themselves.

We were completely blown away by how kind, generous and understanding the team was throughout the entire rest of the process. I wasn't there at the beginning of the reception, but from what I've heard from our coordinators and guests, things went completely smoothly and their team was absolutely wonderful.

The food itself was FANTASTIC (we can highly recommend the boursin/spinach-stuffed chicken and the stuffed mushroom caps!), and the vegetarian option ended up being the highlight of everyone's meals! I wish we'd gotten more, honestly, even though we did them a la carte!

Everyone absolutely loved the dinner options, we had more than enough food for our guests, and the overall experience with the CityFlats team was positively impeccable. I'm already eager for COVID to pass so that we can host a different special event in their stunning Ballroom with their fantastic service and delectable food.

We absolutely loved working with City Flats Hotel. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty and were amazing to work with. As for the Ballroom, we received countless compliments from our guests on how beautiful it was. I highly recommend this venue.

We had a wonderful time planning with Katarina and her team. Our guests loved the Ballroom and the food! Many of our guests have said it was one of their favorite weddings they have been to. My other vendors were happy as well and appreciated how easy it was for them. They made our day unforgettable.
