After trying ~lots~ of BBQ restaurants in NYC, I decided to have Butcher Bar cater my wedding. I had always liked their food, and unlike lots of places in NYC that do well with one item on their menu and screw up the others, Butcher Bar's food is top notch all around, from the pulled pork, to the unbelievably good burnt ends, to the ribs, to the sides.

Kathy, the catering manager at Butcher Bar, instantly put me at ease and gave me the very distinct sense that she would go to the ends of the world to make sure that everything went well. She worked with me to develop some customized passed hors d'oeuvres and a dinner buffet menu, and throughout the process she was endlessly enthusiastic and helpful. She had lots of suggestions for how to make the event better, and was very responsive and understanding of every little customization we were looking for to make the event our own.

The venue for our wedding turned out to have lots of little fine print in their contract requiring the caterer to handle a LOT of tasks at the event, and so a lot of curveballs got thrown in Kathy's direction. I am very happy to say that she fielded them all, including bringing in lots of extra dinnerware and bringing in extra staff for the wedding to make sure that everything went smoothly on the day of. And - it was great! Butcher Bar's staff was attentive and meticulous all throughout the night, and the food was incredible and got rave reviews from everyone. They even brought in a whole roasted pig for the occasion!

If I had the chance to do it all over again, one decision would be extremely easy - Butcher Bar. The people who run it are great people, and they really went the extra mile to make night perfect.
