About 11 months prior to my wedding, in July 2025, I made an appointment at Bridal Trousseau because they had a trunk show featuring gowns by designer Maggie Sottero, I specified what styles I preferred to try on, my size, and my budget. After trying on several gowns and not finding anything that I was enthusiastic about, I spoke with the staff and scheduled another appointment to take place four weeks later, during a second trunk show featuring gowns by Maggie Sottero. I asked that sample gowns for specific styles by this designer be included in the next show. This was able to be done for a $60 shopping charge per gown.

The second appointment, in mid August 2025, went much better. The sample gowns I had requested were available. Emily was my stylist and she was absolutely fantastic with assisting me in trying on gowns, giving me feedback on what looked most flattering, and helping me feel comfortable during the experience. Since I am plus sized, this was extremely important to me. I said yes to a dress that I had requested to be shipped for that weekend, was one of my top choices, and was in my size. I finished the appointment by ordering the gown. In celebratory fashion, my friend (who had accompanied me to the appointment) and I were given champagne and had our pictures taken. The staff informed me that the it would take 4-6 months for the gown to be made and shipped to the shop.

In early February I got a call that the gown had arrived. I scheduled an appointment to try on the gown, determine what alterations needed to be done, and pick it up. This went fairly smoothly. The price offered by Bridal Trousseau for alterations and storing the gown was $900. I brought the gown home with the intent of finding a tailor who could do the work for a lower price, but did not find one. In late March, I went back to Bridal Trousseau with my gown and contracted their affiliated tailor to complete the alterations. I had three more appointments from early May to mid June for fittings. When I picked it up the final time, my maid of honor spoke with Yvonne about steaming the gown and getting it ready for the wedding day. Yvonne told her the charge to steam it professionally was $150 but this was something that we could do ourselves, and she described how to do it correctly.

I was very pleased with my gown for my wedding day on June 20, 2026 and received plenty of compliments on my appearance. My now-husband told me that he was in tears when he saw me in it for the first time as I walked down the aisle. I have the staff at Bridal Trousseau as well as my maid of honor to thank for helping me look gorgeous on my wedding day.

What a delightful experience we had at Bridal Trousseau this weekend. Yvonne could not have done more to help our daughter choose her wedding gown! She was very patient and was as excited as we were! This is a beautiful bridal boutique, very professional, neat and clean. The diverse selection of gowns was incredible.

Bridal Trousseau was the 7th dress shop I went to, and I was starting to feel defeated. From the second I walked in, I saw so many dresses I immediately liked! The staff was sooo professional, helpful, calm, and kind! I explained the styles of dresses I liked/didn't like, and they brought out so many dresses that matched my vision! From the second I put on a dress, I KNEW it was the one! They helped me pick out straps that would match my dress. The fitting process was soo easy, and they were sooo helpful! I loved that they do the fittings at the shop! I received sooo many compliments on my dress, and I truly felt amazing in it! I highly recommend Bridal Trousseau!

I got a private room and it was such a great experience. Jodi was amazing, she listen to me and kept bringing in dresses she knew I would like to try on based on what I was saying. We had a great time this weekend working with Yvonne during our Private Champagne Appointment at Bridal Trousseau. This shop had a great selection of beautiful dresses and knowledgeable consultants. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Yvonne went above and beyond helping me look at all my options, narrow down to my top picks and showing me the customizations possible to help me make a decision. She was a pleasure to work with and we appreciated the time she spent with us.

I was referred by a friend but ended up finding a dress on Google search that led me to Bridal Trousseau. This was my second bridal fitting, so I knew what I wanted but only new it once I found my dress. The bridal store is located right downtown city of New Haven so you must pay for parking. As I walked through the door everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The bridal store is small and intimate the cameras with the TV screen was a nice touch. I was able to see my dresses from the back while seeing the front from their gorgeous mirrors. I noticed they had my name on a small mirror at a table to welcome me. Once my bridal consultant Yvonne introduced herself, we got acquitted and the dress hunt begin. Yvonne had previously texted me and I was able to send her a dress I wanted to try on their site. Surprisingly, the dress I sent her was the first dress I tried on and it ended up being the one I said YES too! I did try on other dresses to make sure it was a definite YES lol. So, I recommend Bridal Trousseau they were very professional and attentive to my expectations.
