This manor also hosts public events such as movie screenings, tea afternoons, and open house tours for viewing the property.
The story of Belmont Manor & Historic Park dates back to 1732 when Caleb Dorsey purchased the site upon which the manor now stands. The manor itself was constructed as the home of Dorsey’s son, also named Caleb. The property has seen a succession of owners and purposes, including raising racehorses and a conference center for the Smithsonian Institute. The Howard County Recreation and Parks Government bought Belmont as stewards of this local fixture.
