TL;DR - I hired Ann's team for my wedding at the Presidio and it was the best decision

Ann Walker in a nutshell is the sweetest and has been so incredibly easy to work with from start to finish. We reached out because she was an approved vendor for Presidio before Presidio handed the management to Wedgewood Weddings. After having a great conversation over the phone, where she described how long she'd been working in the industry and of course, her menu and pricing. I was looking for a catering service that would allow me to bring my own alcohol but not charge me a corkage. I was also looking to stay within a per person maximum. She was willing to meet all of my requirements!

We were able to discuss the menu 3x or more! We met once for the tasting and got to meet Ann and the chef, who has experience cooking many cuisines and is quite worldly.

On the wedding day, her staff was extremely friendly. My husband and I were doted on by Kathleen, who just felt like an aunt who wanted to take care of us. She filled my glass with champagne, my her's cocktail, and made sure I ate!

Now, the most important part. My friends and family LOVED the food!!! They were raving about it from the start. The appetizers were delicious, we had lamb meatballs, veggie spring rolls, and mushroom empanada. For dinner, we had a family-style meal of fish curry, veggie curry, grilled tri-tip, and roasted vegetables. It made me so happy that my friends loved the food we were able to serve!

Ann Walking Catering did an amazing job with our wedding reception. Ann had the unthinkable task of trying to replicate Texas style barbecue in California, and she has come the closest to making it taste like the real thing. We encountered Ann Walker Catering at a venue open house where we were impressed with their unique menus and California feel.

We did an initial consultation at their kitchen in San Anselmo, and we were impressed. Working out the menu took some time, and we kept going back and forth on what we wanted. Ann was extremely gracious and offered great suggestions and tips along the way. We ended up doing a three-course family-style meal: a salad course; a bride-picked vegetarian course; and a groom-picked barbecue course. Because they do not have set menus--each event is custom--it really helps to have an idea of what you want so Ann can better guide you. If you are expecting to pick 3 or 4 items off a list, they can still be accommodating, but they really shine by creating a menu based on fresh, in-season foods.

Ann was also very accommodating as we got closer to our wedding date. We had to shift some seats around near the last minute, which Ann and Janice took in stride. We also had some guest nutritional requirements pop up, and they worked with us to ensure they were happy and able to eat.

We got a cheese table, which our guests loved. Guests enjoyed the appetizers. We ordered our dessert and our beer and wine through other vendors. Ann was happy to provide us with a few types of wines to look for in our budget that would match our meal choices. The team on the day of did a great job setting up and tending bar. Ann even came out to make sure everything was in order which was a pleasant surprise. Alejandro, the lead caterer for the night, did an amazing job. He had a plate of all three courses prepared for us at our table, ensuring that we got to enjoy all of the food amidst our other dinner activities. He also checked back several times throughout the night to make sure we had enough food and drink.

The food was outstanding and the service throughout the night was impeccable. Ann’s suggestion to have bottles of wine on the table was great for our family-style meal. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and we got a lot of positive comments on the food. It definitely did not taste like a catered meal--it was amazing.

We would definitely recommend Ann for your wedding. Make sure you have a general idea of what you want in mind, and let Ann guide you and craft a unique menu for your event. You won’t be disappointed!

My wife and I coordinated the majority of our wedding from out of town. We are both pretty big foodies and wanted our wedding food to be exciting for us and live up to the expectations of our friends and family. We feel extremely lucky to have found Ann.

Ann immediately won us over at our tasting. We had requested a meal with a more Asian/Chinese theme, and she had come up with a proposed menu for us to sample. It was very clear from what we tasted that the recipes were very carefully crafted and the flavors well balanced. They did a superb job. Many of our guests told us how much they enjoyed the food.

All the catering staff at the wedding were courteous, warm, friendly, respectful, and efficient. It rained on our wedding day so we ended up having the ceremony indoors and required the space to be set up 2 different ways. The transition between the two setups was flawless.
