I think 6-8 weeks is good.

I always tell my brides, invitations should be mailed out 7-9 weeks before the wedding. This gives guest time to RSVP. Also make sure you don't make the RSVP date the same week the caterer needs the final guest count, I say make the date early, so you have time to call guest if you need to.

The standard is 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding, however, if you have a lot of out-of-town guests coming, you may send them a week or two prior. Good luck to you! :)

We are having a destination wedding. STD's went out a year in advance. Invites are going out 4 months ahead with a 3 months ahead rsvp date. So, we are VERY early, but since everyone has to fly there our guests already know if they are coming or not and it will give me time to do place cards, seating arrangement, OOT bags, etc...

I'm mailing mine out next week with RSVP'S by Aug 1. That way it gives you time for regrets to send out invites to those on your B list. Congrats!!
