wedding favors
So my fiance and I have some ideas for wedding favors, but we don't want to spend a fortune on them. Our original idea was to get champagne flutes and get them etched with our names and the date, have them on the tables for the toast, then let people bring them home. But that was going to be over $400 (our guest list is at about 130 right now). So we started looking at shot glasses with our names on them. Has anybody done this, and any ideas on where to get a good deal on either idea? Thanks!

We are going to do shot glasses and do a shot/toast to my FH's dad(who is deceased)and then they can take the shot glass as their favor. I seen a website that had them pretty cheap. I think it was discount mugs or something like that. I haven't ordered them yet.

The shot glasses are a nice idea ... just keep in mind that most "banquet" venues do not allow shots ...

Another way to save money would be to buy shot glasses that aren't etched. You could fill them with candy (like M&Ms or something) and wrap them in tulle.

I think edible favors are the way to go, favors are just a nice little something to give your guests, it doesn't have to be a tangible keepsake. It seems like most tangible favors have a shelf life, meaning people get them home and after a while are like, well, now what do I do with this candle/shot glass/wine stopper/whatever? If you must do something tangible, I would choose something that isn't personalized, just something nice that they would enjoy. And you can't go wrong with something edible, because everyone enjoys eating!

Edible favors are always a great idea. They're useful, unexpected, and don't have to break your budget. For an August wedding I think presenting your guests with Personalized Lemonade would be so much fun!

For 130 guests you would only spend about $200 at Remember Our Day's online boutique. Check it out: http://www.rememberourdayfavors.com/Personalized_Lemonade_Edible_Favor_p/eb2002.htm

Congratulations and best wishes,

if you go to favorfavor.com their wedding favors are very cheap. They have a choice for shot glasses to. Since our wedding was in the fall I took wedding bubbles & carmels and filled burgandy organza bags. I also made hot chocolate bags. I just filled triangle party bags with hot chocolate, chocolate chips, and marshmellows. I tied it off with a brown bow and a fall leaf key chain that i ordered on favorfavor.com. everyone loved those. Bubbles were definately fun for the kids.
