qr code for guests to take pictures

Mark, on January 26, 2025 at 6:08 PM Posted in Planning 1 13

Getting married in June. We want guests to be able to take photos and have them upload to a group/cloud folder. We have decided against any product that requires someone to download the app; don't think people will be keen on that. Has anyone used products such as POV that only require a QR code for guests to take pics?

Hey! I haven’t heard of POV but I’ve been to a few weddings where they used dots memories Smiley flower They just set up a QR code, and you don’t even need to download the app ,you can upload everything from the web. It’s super user-friendly and works really well. You should check it out

I went to a wedding last year and they used one called dots memories! I agree it's inconvenient for guests to all download an app and with this one I didn't download it, i just scanned the QR code and could access from the website. Very positive experience!

I have seen eventoly.com at some weddings. No need for an app. I think they have a free trial

@sprunki mustard Try using dots memories Smiley flower. I learned about this from some of my close friends.

Hiii! i think its around $130 for unlimited everything and no app required, but If you put less guests it can go down to $60 aprox (one time payment). there's no way 350 people will join the album so I'd suggest less Smiley smile

Was at a wedding this weekend and they used wedport.com - it was slick. No apps or logins for the guests to post.

I found this really cool web app called guesticon for our wedding. We used their free rsvp feature (they even had intro videos on the RSVP page that we could record, which was super cool) and the seating chart tool, which we exported as images and printed out so guests could see their tables. It was really easy to use.

They also have a free qr code album, but it’s limited to 50 photos per album 😅. They were running a sale on the premium qr code packages, which was the only thing you had to pay for, and we ended up getting 3 albums out of it.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding! You can actually create a QR code that links to any cloud folder (Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud shared album) — no app needed. Just create a shared folder with upload permissions, copy the link, and generate a QR code from it. Print it on table cards or a sign near the entrance.

    A few tips from experience:

    • Make sure the QR code is at least 2x2 inches so guests can scan easily in dim reception lighting
    • Test it on both iPhone and Android before printing
    • Add a short text under the QR like "Scan to share your photos with us!"

I wrote a detailed guide on using QR codes at weddings here if you want more ideas: https://qrlynx.com/blog/wedding-qr-code
