Wedding Colours/Theme?
I am doing lots of research before I start planning our wedding do-over so we end up with the day of our dreams...and so we know how much to save to ensure we get everything we want...So my question is...how did you decided on your wedding colours/Theme?

Fist let me start off by saying, Congratulations! Well, my favorite color is purple, but I didn't want to go too dark so I went with the next best color which is Lavendar and to accompany that color I matched it up with Silver. I don't really have a theme since we're both casual, laid back ppl. So I'm going to use both color in a different ways for example: my centerpieces will be in a calla lily bowl with silver floating candles with irridescent flat rocks in lavendar color water surrounded by Lavendar/Purple petals. Hope this helps you.

Our budget was 10,000 and I had to make sure we get everythng we want within that range. However the tuxdeo, wedding dress and rings were not included in the cost.

First write down what you both want. Because our budget was set and I was not always working; our theme was simple but elegant.

Our colors begain with wine and cham. But he waited so long to decide on a tuxedo that the cham tux was discontinued. So when he found a tux he liked it was Choc. I didn't know what I was going to do with choc and wine, that is to dark. So since I had peach for my matron of honor it make perfect with the choc. The tux had cafe' vest so the bridesmaids wore cafe dresses which looks allmost like cham. The colors were beautiful and everyone commented on it. They never saw the two colors together.

I came up with about 5 potential colors all of which I liked and then talked to my bridesmaids about what colors they would want to buy for a dress. Then with their input, my FH's skin tone, and my original preferences I narrowed it down from there.

We are an bold couple. So we are going with red, black, and white. Just to make it sexy, and classy.

My favorite colors are amythest purple and buttercup yellow. My FH always buys me flowers in these colors so that's what we are having. Anyone who knows me wasn't surprised when I announced my colors. It's who I am. They also will not suprised when I have an Elvis Presley song played at the ceremony, because that's me.

There is a shade of green that we both love. And I adore yellow roses. So we chose those two colors, then I just picked a deep red that I thought would provide a nice contrast. I'm not certain about the red though... feedback would be great. Its on my inspiration board.

I was looking at ideas from theknot.com,they have great color combinations. Also you have to look at the season you are getting married in. Im getting married in march, I chose a light shade of green and white. Good luck.

There is no rule that says you have to pick colors that correspond to the time of year. Pick colors that mean something to you and your husband.

My FH and I chose blue and golden orange because they are colors that have kind of a "hidden" meaning to us. I have an inspiration board of my colors if you want to take a look. Anyway, because we balance each other so well we thought of things like fire and water (he's a fires sign and I'm a water sign in zodiac), ocean and sun, in art terms blue and orange are compliments and overall, blue and orange work really well as summer colors.

Most of my cleints who havent set a color scheme will look at the seasonal flowers & colors ( a money saver) and select from their favorites.
Most look at the color of the gowns they have in mind and availability.
Sometimes dresses only come in 3 colors in that perfect style, so thats a starting point.

For a spring wedding you can do a vibrant or soft mix , if you want some inspiration take a peek at my website at www.suzannemsmithdesigns.com plenty of beautiful weddings to see with a great selection of colors and ideas.

If you have any questions, feel free to conatct me , I can tell you the flower colors for your florist

i started with the time of year it was going to be in (fall, so i'm not choosing pastel colors). then decided what formaility it would be (night time formal or day time casual). then i just wnet online to places that have pictures of what other people did like this wedding cakes gallery and went from there!

I photographed a beautiful wedding with the colors pink, yellow, and orange. It was a spring wedding in San Francisco and the colors just popped on the invitations and in the bouquets.

Pale pink and gold is really popular right now. And you can never go wrong with Black and white with one stand out color.

Good luck!

I normally use this website for my jewelry creations, but I believe that the "color ideas" page will inspire you.

I really liked a deep plum color and was originally going to go with a nice green however i found it hard to find dresses I liked in the right green so I later decided to go with yellow - which was perfect because yellow and purple were our school colors! and the flowers I love came in both colors =)
