Tattoos???

Ok ladies, I know this probably isn't the first post regarding 'how to cover tattoos' but I'm new to this site and haven't been able to find anything yet. Sooo... I have a few tattoos that need to be hidden & must find something that really works. I've went as far as using TCA to remove them but it's just taking too long to fade them out. What have you used or seen that is effective?

My 80yr old Grandmother has no idea I'm addicted to ink. Even though she won't be there, she will of course see our wedding photos.

There is product called Cover FX and youcan buy it at any Shoppers Drug Mart. It works wonders for covering tattoos and it is transfer resistant and water resistant. They use it on Anjolina Joli to cover her tattoos in movies.

If you have large ones, or more than one, airbrushing is the way to go. The quotes I got were $10-$15 per tattoo, but it lasts all day and will not smear or smudge. Dermablend works pretty well, but you will have to buy it at a store (Sephora sells it, and Ultra) and not online because you have to be very precise with your shade for it to look good. I have one on each shoulder and one on my upper back that will be covered by my hair, and the rest I will cover with makeup. Also David's Bridal sells a kit, but I don't know how well that works.

Hi There,
Tattoo coverage is a biggie, and there are many suggestions out there. However, you want something that will not rub off or come off as you perspire. As a makeup artist, I always recommend to my brides to get their tattoos airbrushed. Mind you, the product used for covering tattoos is specially designed for camouflaging. Although applied in the same manner as the makeup, these products are designed for additional coverage and wear. You'll still want to do a trial to properly match the color to your skin and also to see how the tatt reacts to the product, etc. If interested, take a look on my web site or store front. I have a sample of a tattoo coverage that I did using the airbrush. It will give you a good idea of what to look for and expect.
Good luck!

Where do you go and get airbrushed at? I want to get my makeup done by MAC. Do they do airbrushing?

I'm havinf my tattoo airbrushed. The make-up artist covering mine is only charging me $25. To locate someone who does airbrushing: call around to different make-up artists and ask if they do airbrushing or you can look on Model Mayhem www.modelmayhem.com for make-up artists in your area. Hope this helps ladies!!!

Hi ladies~
As a makeup artist, I know that covering a tatoo is very color specific...so always make sure you do a trial run before the big day.....I offer bridal makeup trials for free so that the bride does not feel any obligation or pressure.....I can be reached at www.dylanmichaelcosmetics.com

Thank you all for your input. The airbrushing sounds like a great idea. I know I'm going out on a limb here but has anyone heard of or used a makeup artist in StCroix that does airbrushing? Or would this be something I could get done the day before we leave? We're leaving on the 11th and getting married on the 12th. In the meantime I'll check with my wedding planner. Thanks again & happy planning!
