Guests wearing white to a wedding?

Hello all! My fiancée and I are getting married next February on a beach in Mexico. I initially envisioned my guests wearing white because I thought it would look nice with the beach background. I’m wondering if others had guests wear white to their wedding and if it was a loved it or hated it situation? I could also see guests wearing tan or beige but just wanted to poll the wedding group for thoughts.
