Has anyone else worn a prom dress instead of a wedding dress?? How did you feel about it?

Never though about it because I'm traditional AF, but that is beautiful! I'm glad you found the dress, and it sounds like you have an amazing unofficial bridal party!

I wore a black cocktail dress. It was exactly what I was looking for. Zero regrets.

ETA: The cost savings only made it an even better choice for me.

The only thing that dictates what a wedding dress is that you are wearing it on your wedding day. The traditional white wedding dress has not been around that long (thank you Queen Victoria). Before that women wore their best clothes no matter the colour or cut. Some women, usually widowed women marrying again, in the Georgian era even got married in their underwear as sign that she has brought nothing but herself to the marriage.

I love the dress!! Doesn't matter if it isn't the traditional wedding dress.

I am wearing a MacDuggal prom dress as one of my dresses...my sister actually found it for me and knew I would love it (it totally fits my style and princess jasmine/Arabian garden theme).

I am big fan of wear what makes you feel like a million bucks! That dress looks amazing! I would suggest adding a veil, can be the birdcage style, or something else to complete the bridal look.

Honestly even without that dress being white something about it still looks very bridal. Love it! I might go a little untraditional with a blush dress but not full tradition breaking, but power to you!

I'm thinking of getting a blush wedding gown/dress, myself. I love color and am terrified of spilling something on a white dress. Do you, boo! As long as you feel beautiful, that's all that matters. And no one will know it's a prom dress, so it really won't matter.

I'm wearing a silver lace prom dress as my wedding dress, I never wanted white and it's perfect for comfort and for our low key wedding, wear whatever you want to get married in, it's your special day!
