I Need Some Major Help!
So i just got engaged. We've been talking about it for awhile, then he finally asked. But my problem is that I only have FOUR months to plans this thing! We're probably just going to get married at the courthouse, but we're wanting a reception at my family's home. I'm also needing good ideas for the honeymoon. Any advice or ideas would REALLY help. Thanx

We planned a very extravagant (sp?) wedding in less than 7 months. So it definitely can be done. Just have to get going! Think about how many people you want, who you want to invite. Where you want to have it. You have to get the idea/vision in your head and then start making phone calls! :o)

Ok 1 idea for the reception isjust to have cake and punch.
Another, you can have a buffet style, meatballs, chicken, roast beef or ham, different kinds of salads (pasta, macaroni, potato), veggie trays, fruit trays, cake, etc...
Another is to have maybe just fixings for sandwiches and such and cake....

You need to call the courthouse and set up the date, see what you might need to bring, etc...
Figure out a guest list, get invitations, and mail them out around January...

Since you are having the recption at your familys home, are you having it catered or doing it yourselves along with family help? If you want it catered, make some calls around your area and figure out who is available and set an appointment with them and make sure you get a contract :)

I'm wanting my colors to be black and white. something really classy, but still pretty cheap. We're wanting to be able to spend more money on the honeymoon instead of the ceremony and reception.

Food wise, you could contact a local restaurant about catering it (I know the restaurant I work at does sandwich trays, fruit trays, veggie trays, cookie trays, and potato trays) or you could find out if a family member(s) would be interested in cooking. With 4 months, I'm not sure if you would be able to find a caterer, but you could try.
Photography wise, you could put up flyers and/or contact the photography department at your local university to see if there are any students available. With it being in March, you might still be able to find a photographer right now. I found mine through my MOH, so ask people you know.
Decorations -- you could simply have different height candles or you could find a florist who uses local flowers. You could also do silk flowers.
Cake -- Sam's Club, Walmart, etc. sells 3-tier wedding cakes (plain but nice) for about $180. You can still shop around though.
Favors -- you don't have to have them
Invitations to Reception -- You can DIY invitations cont'd

You can get DIY invitation kits (I would still do invitations to the reception) from Michael's, Walmart, etc. and print them at home.

If you tell us what you invision, we could provide more specific help.

As far as the honeymoon, a cruise is always a great idea, take one that goes to St Thomas, Puerto Rica, etc...

For the honeymoon I would suggest a cruise. You get to do so much and see so many places. And it is cheaper than just going to one spot. Plus, you have so many free activities to do on the ship and great food that is also free. I like Royal Caribbean cruise line because they have the most stuff to do on the ship.

the wedding, like i said is probably just going to be at the court house, but i still want to wear a dress, but not look too "over dressed" for where it will be at lol. But the reception is going to be at my dad's, and i'm wanting my colors to be black and white. We want something classy, but still fun. We wanted to rent a log cabin or something like that for the honey moon. We live about 2 hours away from the smokey mtns, which i need to still be kinda close to home because of my daughter. We just really dont know how to go about reserving a room, and making sure we are getting a good deal.

You can get a short white dress, if you want, to wear to the courthouse. That way it is white, but isn't too big. I've noticed from my research, that by getting married in March, almost EVERYTHING will be discounted. The price of a cabin in the summer would be much higher than one in March, because people don't usually vacation in March. If you are worried about your daughter, you could always have a weekend honeymoon or something. Going away on a Friday and coming back on a Sunday would still be a great honeymoon. With black and white, there is soooo much you can do. You can rent white tablecloths and get white and black flowers/branches and put them in vases with candles going around them. This picture is really cute/simple:

What kind of reception do you want brianna? Sit down dinner? Buffet? Is it going to be outside at your dads or inside?

You could also do something like . You could use white flowers instead of pink.
