How long were you dating before you got ENGAGED? and how long did it take to set a wedding date?

We had been dating for 9 months, we set a date within a week of being engaged. By the time we are married we will have been engaged for 16 months.

We have been together for 5 years in April 2011, he proposed while we were in Aruba in June 2011...We dont have an exact date set but the one that I put down is what we will hopefully start aiming for...this will be our 7 year anniversary date if all goes well!

We met January 28, 2008 . . . i lived in LA and he lived in NYC. i moved to NYC and into his apartment on July 6, 2008 -- the third time we had seen each other!!

Dated for 6 years, had a 1 year engagement with no planning, then I planned the wedding in 6 months. When setting my date I considered the birth of my niece, I wanted her to be big enough to come to the wedding, she was 8.5 weeks on my date, worked out perfect.

Oh and realized I should have considered the NBA schedule, I was secretly soo happy the Lakers didn't make it to the finals this year, shhh

We were together for 5 months when he popped the question... he started talking about marriage at 4 months... and we are getting married in less than a year now. But we will be together for a year and 7 months by the time we get married.

We met in Sept 08, stayed as friends until June 09, dated 2 years, he popped the question, and we went a year out to the very day for our wedding.

@Candace- we are almost twins! I met my FH 10/30/2010. He kind-of proposed 12/26 but proposed for real 1/27/11. We will have been together 11 months when we get married.

Oh and we set the date about 1-2 weeks later.

We were dating a 1 year and 5 months when he prosposed. He kind of set the date while he was proposing to me. He wanted to get married on his birthday Sept. 11 because thats when we first met. Since his borthday was doing the week , we just decided on the following Sat which is Sept. 15.

We had been together for 3yrs and i picked the date cause i was in school at the time and i wanted to be finished before i started planning the wedding which i'm very glad i did cause i would not have been able to do both, and i wedding date is our 7year anniversary so it has a lot of meaning plus FH can never forget it cause it's been our anniversary for years

We originally chose June 2011 but ended up choosing October 2011 in October 2010, so it took us a few weeks to decide the date. We will have been together for over a year and a half when we get married.

Got engaged about 15 months after dating. set the date about 3 months later.

Dated for 5 years before getting engaged. By the time we get married, we will have been together for 6 1/2. We chose a date within about a month after getting engaged. Had to take into consideration my brother's wedding (he was married this last March so we pushed it back to 2012).
