How long were you dating before you got ENGAGED? and how long did it take to set a wedding date?

We have been together 13 years. Sickness has lead us to postponing our wedding but it is time to do the deed =] Enjoy your planning=]

We dated about 8 months before we decided we wanted to get married.

We chose our date {NYE} because its a great night to have a wedding.

we didn't get formally engaged until my birthday {March 5th}

but by then we had already had the hall reserved and my dress paid for!

We had been dating for over a year...and decided on the wedding date like three days after we got engaged. My father was deploying and we needed to do a date that would be easy for him to come home from Iraq on leave, and also 9/25 is my FHs parents anniversary...his father died in a motorcycle accident when he was 10 so its kind of in memory of him.

We had been dating for 3 years and 5 months before we got engaged. It took about a week to set a date. We knew it had to be in 2012 so we could save $$. Once I realized that our anniversary fell on a Saturday, it was done! So we are getting married exactly 5 years from our 1st date!

I come from a family that stands by the statement "when you know, you know" ( My brother was engaged after two months of dating and married after seven and are still happilymarried 5 years later) We were engaged 6 months into dating and will be married a little over a year of dating! Our families get along so well and I never expected to find such an amazing, caring,and generous man! I have truly been blessed!

We met October 2010, and got engaged; Jan 11.

We dated for 10 years (all through high school & college) before he finally popped the question!! We picked our date 3 days later.

We had been dating for 10 months before we got engaged and waited a year and 4 months before we set a date. Our wedding day will be the day after our three year anniversary!

We have been together for 5 years this summer and got engaged in April. But I couldn't say anything til her formally asked my dad so it wasn't announced until May. We were dating for 2 years when he proposed.

We got enganged after 9months (Nov of 2010) of dating we cldn't decide whether to get married this fall or next fall. We finally decided after 2 months it would be in our best interest financially to wait so October 2012 it is.

Friends for 6 years, dated for 2 months, and it took us about a week to set a date :-)

We were together for 14 months before we became engaged which was two weeks ago We plan to wed sometime in July 2013 - can't wait!

Well not as long as melissa f....so my marriage probably won't last. :'(

We were dating just under 3 years before he proposed.

We've been engaged since late May and we still have yet to secure our wedding date.

We dated for 8 months before he proposed. We set the date 1 month later. We will be engaged for 21 months by the time the wedding gets here...Getting close!

Friends for 6 years, dateing 11 months before we got engaged, 2 weeks to set the date... then we had to wait almost year before we could put a deposit on the venue to lock the date in because they only take bookings 18months in advance.

He proposed on our 3 year anniversary! It took us about 1 month to pick a date.

But my BFF who got engaged 3 weeks before me is getting married in Nov 2011. So we looked at March 2012, but that is Florida's busy season. FH did not want to wait till Fall 2012, so after talking with my BFF she said it would be fine for us to marry in the fall of this year.
