In 2003, Tristan and I met during my sophomoore year in high school, while he was a freshman.  I was Team Manager of the Men's Varsity Basketball team, and he was #4.  We instantly clicked as friends, even though we had a secret crush on each other.  Unfortunately, after I graduated in 2006, I moved out of the city for college, and he moved to Southern California.  We had little contact with each other, but we always kept up with each other's MySpace pages.  In February 2011, we randomly saw each other at the mall, and after talking for 20 minutes, we decided to go see a movie together.  After the movie, he asked if I wanted to get something to eat at the nearby Applebee's.  We ordered our food, and talked for about an hour and a half, without even realizing that our food never arrived.  Needless to say, it was a great and unexpected first date. In April 2011, after 2 months of official dating, Tristan gave me a promise ring with the notion of an informal engagement.  He wanted to talk to my family, and receive their blessing first, and then he would surprise me with a formal engagement ring.  He set this up when he gave me my promise ring We are grateful that God has directed us to each other again, and he did so with perfect timing.  We are ready to commit ourselves to each other, and we can't wait to experience our lives together.
