I cheated and am just copying and pasting the "OUr Story" from our wedding website! ....   Girl and boy join internet dating site. Girl sees boy, smiles at boy (Cavin loves to remind Shawna that she smiled at him first ;) Boy says hello, they connect right away. Add a dabble of concert going (we are music lovers!), many trips back and forth between Toronto and Guelph, and Shawna's move to Toronto to live with Cavin a year later and voila- The rest is history! Ok so there's a little more to it than that! But what it boils down to is.... We’re Engaged!! "This day I marry my friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream of, and love" When Cavin and I first met, our mutual interest and passion for health and running was at it's beginning stages. In fact, I remember Cavin calling me for the very first time on the day he completed his first 10k race in Toronto. I remember hearing the pride and excitement in his voice and was so inspired and energized by his accomplishment. Little did I know this would not only be the beginning of a loving relationship-but the start of an adventure where we both set new goals and reached new heights in how far we could push ourselves.  Fastforward to five years later...Cavin was gearing up for his very first Ironman Triathlon in the scenic Lake Placid, NY. This is an extrememly challenging race that would take an incredible amount of dedication and committment to work up to. So when Cavin was asked the inevitable question at weddings...and reunions, and birthday parties, and everywhere else. lol ("when's your turn to tie the knot?") I understood when he would reply that he could not plan this until after his goal was complete. So imagine my surprise at the end of the day with almost 13 hours of cheering under my belt (for me that is, Cavin had the more painful task that day) when Cavin got down on one very tired knee just before crossing the finish line! The crowd went wild and there were many tears shed-by our unsuspecting loved ones as well as nearby strangers! Later, Cavin explained that he knew that the Ironman would take a lot of commitment on my part as well and wanted to propose at the finish line as a way to honour and cherish what it took both of us together to get there! I'm pretty lucky to have someone who takes what is meant to be his moment to shine and turns it into something for both of us to share and celebrate as a couple. So here we are, ready for the next adventure! First up, wedding planning fury! :)
