How long were you dating before you got ENGAGED? and how long did it take to set a wedding date?

We were together for 3 years and almost 8 months before he proposed (July 2, 2011)... I wanted to get married Spring 2013 for money reasons... but eventually my fiance told me he felt that was just too long. So we put a deposit down on our venue for October 20, 2012 just this Monday.

We dated from January 14, 2009 to May 14, 2011, when he FINALLY proposed, so about 2 years and 4 months.

It did not take long to pick our wedding date. I'd been actually "thinking' about the day for some time, even before the proposal, and have always wanted to get married in April anyway cause that's the month my parents got married. I did not know the date, but it worked out because we started dating on the "14th" of January and the "14th" of April ended up being on a saturday, so we decided it would be perfect.

So excited, we have 260 days left until we say "I do"

We were dating for 16 months when he proposed. It took us 5 years to set the date because we were busy raising our little one. : ) We will have been together 7 years and 4 months when we get married this October...6 years after he proposed.

We dated 6 years, he proposed on our anniversary, and we set the date 3 months later

We were dating just under 2 years when he proposed. It took us a few weeks to set the date because we were on vacation at the time and I changed it twice. Our engagement was VERY short...only 3 months, but we were very excited and basically knew what we wanted, had the money and said, "Why wait?"

The day we got married we were together for two years, two months and 10 days.

We knew each other as kids, so although we didn't date, you can partially count grades 1-8 for us. FFW, and we found each other online again in Fall 2009, met in May 2010, and got engaged in November 2010. We are having our DW this October, but our home town post-DW celebration will be exactly one year to the day of our engagement. Can't wait!!

Dating 13 days, engaged 6 months, married 1 year last Sunday! (The best year of my life!)

Pumpkin, that is cool. We wanted to get married before my boys went to Florida for the summer, so we were limited to the first two weeks in June, the first one is my birthday (NO NO NO NO), so we went with 6/11. It worked really well.

We were dating for 2 years and 9 months when he proposed. We got engaged on April 18th and picked the date and put down our deposit on June 21st. We went back & forth between Nov and Aug. Finally decided on August but can't take a honeymoon until November because of his job.

We had been dating for 3 years.. we were on a mini weekend vacation to celebrate our 3rd year together when he proposed We didn't set a date until I got my engagement ring about a month later. We decided to do it no later than a year and a half later because FH is going to quit his job (yay!) and go to school full time and I to go to school part-time and we wanted to have our wedding before we became broke students

We'd met the year before, and sent a ton of emails while he was deployed, and hung out four other times before we started dating (coffee, mud run, ultimate frisbee, church conference), but once we started "officially" dating, we already knew we would be getting married eventually. The timing just meant either right away or wait another whole year (I'm a teacher), so...

We dated a month and a half and it took us about a month to set the date.
