How long were you dating before you got ENGAGED? and how long did it take to set a wedding date?

We got engaged on the 4 year anniversary of our first kiss (4 years and 3 months after we started dating). It took forever to choose the date! We've changed it so many times, and it might be changing again :/

We were BEST friends for about a year and a half before we technically dated. We 'dated' for about two weeks when we decided to get married and got married two weeks later (eloped). We're renewing our vows to 'have the wedding we never had' mainly because my wonderful MIL has been waiting/wanting us to. Of course we're excited about it too When we have the wedding it will be right before our 13th anniversary.

We were together for 4 years before he proposed and we set a date about 9 months later

We knew we were going to get married with in a month or two into our relationship, but we were together for 2 years when he proposed and decided on a date with in a few weeks. We did change it once.

We were together almost 3 years (2 years and 9 months to the date of when we got together, actually!) before he proposed.

I just now set the recently. So about 3-4 months to pick the date.

Factors that went into consideration included:

1. We wanted it on a Friday night to get discounts

2. We wanted to be 21 at the wedding and honeymoon (FH birthday is in June).

3. I wanted to be done with school and have my degree. (Which I will in May).

4. Availability of our families and attendants

5. Availability of our venues.

He proposed to me on our 2-year anniversary [Jan 2011] & we settled on a for sure date a couple months after some careful considerations. Once we get married [Sept 2012] we will have been together for just over 3.5 years :].

We had been dating a little over 2 years when he proposed on this past new year's eve. We had a date picked out way before that, but about 4 months after being engaged we decided to change the date!

We meet in Dec 2009 started dating Jan 2010 he proposed on feb 2011 and we are getting married Nov 2012....he had proposed 6mth after we started dating but i wouldn't say yes....For some crazy reason i was afraid...but not anymore....

Dated for three years. Got engaged sept 25 2010.. set the date womehwere in january

Well we talked about getting married and having kids at about 4 months when i moved in then two months later I got pregnant but we never felt the need to run off and get married then at a little over 2 years we got engaged we just had our 4 year mark been engaged about a year and a half

We were dating for a little over a year when he proposed, and it only took us about a month to set a date

We were dating 7 years before he proposed on March 22nd 2011. it took a couple weeks to figure out the wedding date.

10 yrs here!.. Haha but its all worth it..

We had been dating for 6 1/2 (Sept 2010) months when we got engaged. I think we set a date about a month or so after that. I am not someone that particularly cared for a big wedding (though DH did) so I didnt care the season or anything, I just knew I didnt want to wait forever. LOL. We started planning it for the spring time.

The big things we had to think about for selecting a date were my sisters. They are both out of state at different colleges so I wanted to make sure they would both be able to attend. Sister A was the furthest away, so I found a weekend that was her spring break. That weekend happened to be the start of the quarter for Sister B so I knew she wouldn't have any major tests just yet. Sister B plays soccer for her college though and turns out they had two pre-season games that weekend (but she still came =]).

We chose Saturday because we had some OOT guests and figured they could use Sunday to travel back home.

BTW - 4/8 is DH's birthday and 4/10 is his dad's birthday. So, we now have a huge weekend extravaganza that time of year! lol

We were together just shy of 3 yrs (2 yrs 11 months lol) when we got engaged. It took us a few months to pick a date. We didn't feel the need to rush into it. May 2012 just kinda fit into the rest of our plans, we'll have been engaged for almost a year and a half when we get married

We started dating in 2007 and got engaged in 2007. We waited until this year to get married...we were still in college until 2009 part of the reason we waited

We met july 22 2007 started dateing july 23rd 2007 and got engaged october 29th 2008! were getting married may19th 2012 we chose that date bc its a week and a day after FH graduates from culinary school.
