Hairstyle Help!
I have long almost-black curly hair. I mean really long...straight it's past the small of my back. My hair is a big deal to me. My veil is a single layer and should show it off fine, but I am unsure what hairstyle I should have.

I KNOW I want it curly and at least half down, but I really want to have curls pinned up on my head...semi-elaborate, with pearls. My concern is, My hair is not extremely thick, and I am afraid if I pin too much up what's left will look straggly.

I am also concerned that my hair will not look good from all angles...with it half up the back and side are pretty much guaranteed, but I want it to look good with a full front view as well and the long part be visible from the front.

So basically, I am really picky, and I am afraid if I do not present a picture of EXACTLY what I want, my stylist won't get it right.

Does anybody have any ideas/pictures to share of curly, half-up hairstyles for long hair? Thanks!

As a Hair Stylist.... brides comes in all the TIME the same exact way... Knowing what they want and how they want it.... Occasionally you'll get the ones that don't know and want some sort of IDEA... but HONESTLY I cannot stress enough HOW important it is to do a TRIAL RUN, for this exact reason, and realistically take a picture of you in your dress with the veil on, cause even though you might want it half up and half down.... the truth of the matter is you DRESS should dictate your Hair style..... (I.E. if you dress is busy with design and bling and GLITZ... you hairstyle should be SIMPLE with some accents, but if your dress is SIMPLE then your hair should be a bit more DONE UP).
I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but Hair dress and make up should COMPLIMENT not COMPETE with your look.... you want to look GLAMORUS and will put together on you DAY, NOT CLUELESS and COMPLICATED....

Yeah. My dress is all white with a rushed top and a kinda sun-ray pattern of folds coming from the waste and spreading across the front. It is more "elegant" than what I would describe as "bling." All white, no accents, and my hair is black, so I feel justified having a more done up hairstyle. Also, I will probably be wearing minimal makeup.

My hair is naturally curly though, so whatever I do will be ringlets, I just have to decide how to arrange them. :) Do you normally charge full price for a trial run?

Dear Ashley, I fully understand your concern with hair. However, you can easily achieve the desired style (with enough hair pinned up and the rest of it down, in curls) with the help of hair extensions. They will make the lower portion appear much thicker. There are several types of extensions, some of them are not that expensive at all! Your idea to decorate the portion of your hair that goes "up" with pearls is great! You can also use some more elaborate hair accessories, like hair pins with pearls, crystals and rhinestones - your dress as you describe surely justifies that! You will find plenty of gorgeous hairit picks and side combs at http://forprincessbride.com/store/page14.html.
Regarding your hair extension options, conslut with your hair stylist. Good luck and enjoy the wedding!
