Congratulations on picking your wedding colors. Autumn weddings are my favorite! Burnt orange, olive green, & deep brown go lovely together. An accent color of midnight blue (with just a touch of green in it) or violet goes beautifully with your color combination.

Of course, autumn leaves are a nice way to decorate. But you don't have to use them to indicate autumn. Mums, asters, & gerbera daisies come in the perfect colors. Also, if you are the type who likes to do things a bit out-of-the-ordinary, you could use brown tablecloths with burnt orange napkins (or olive green ones). And I have seen fresh cranberries used in centerpieces, in place of marbles. Hurricane lanterns are nice in centerpieces, too.

Have a great time planning your autumn wedding, & if you have need of custom invitations, you can check out my site at Calligraphics Studio.

if you are set on dropping the theme, check out some of the photos from my wedding. I had a fall/harvest look with fall colors. we had orange and white pumpkins on the tables. The white ones were put on top of black iron pillar candle holders and draped with the fake berry garland while the orange ones were left flat on the table with a ring of fake fall leaf garland around the base. each pumpkin had votive candles around them to dress them up a bit. They were very simple but looked nice. If you like the pics let me know and I can give you more details on the look.

You have SO many options with those colors...I would suggest you start by designating one as the anchoring color then accent and accessorize with the others. With regard to the reception, if you don't plan to use colored table linen, don't forget to add the standard white (sometimes ivory) that the venue will give you to your color scheme. Remembering to do that up front will ensure the whole day flows together and none of the colors will look like an afterthought.
Congrats on your engagement and happy planning.
Please take a look at my site and give me a call if I can be of any assistance. I am offering a special to clients who mention they found me through Wedding Wire, a $200 value.

i think maybe for a cocktail party or even just at the reception serving hot chocolate and apple cider spiked drinks are a great idea for a fall like feel and put a nice pile of whipped cream on top of plain hot chocolate for the kids this is what im doing at my reception for my fall wedding which i know my family and friends will love.

Here are some great tips and ideas for fall weddings. I would also suggest talking to your florist for good ideas!

I also seen a really cute bouquet that a florist had done tthat was primarily mini pinecones with fall leaves and mums added in for accents.

I thought your reception hall included the decorations? Do they offer different colored linens, or do you have to go with white or ivory? I would think fall in Miami looks a lot like summer in Connecticut? You may want to go all out with the fall leaves since you don't really get much of that there. It might be fun to walk into an autumn wonderland out of the Miami sun. Here in the Northeast, we see lots of leaves and pumpkins, but I bet it would be different in Miami? Why did you drop Ed Hardy? Just curious...I thought it was interesting.

Here's a link for a really cute DIY centerpiece for fall - wrapped votive holders in dried corn husks. Since they're wrapped, you don't have to get clear glass ones and can probably find good bargains at the dollar store or after season clearance items.

Hi and congratulations! Here is a link to a fall wedding I photographed. This is the albums they chose. In about the middle you can see all of their reception decorations. They also had beautiful bridesmaid and flower girl dresses!

Im planning on using apples, since our wedding is also in Sept. Our ceremony is going to be outside (fingers crossed it doesnt rain) and Ive thought about instead of flower petals down the aisle, having apples along side the aisle on each side, and maybe a couple small barrals of apples by the alter, and by the last row of chairs. I would also like to do Sangria as our drink, and have cut up apples in the sangria. Since the sangria will be our drink, I would like the bartender to set it up on the bar, or easily visible in a large class container, where he can like scoop it out, as you would do with punch. I am going to have an old wooden wagon to put our gifts in. Im thinking about doing a sage greenish color with some pinks, my reasoning only b/c fall doesnt start until the end of september, I would like to use pumpkins and oranges, but to me I just feel that it is more end of september, october that would go better with those colors. Congrats and Good Luck with your planning!

o yea, we are thinking about doing chocolate covered apples as favors, and they can also double as seating cards.

I am getting married on 10/01/10 and am also doing Brown as the base color with Orange accents. I originally wanted to use all fall colors but found myself getting overwhelmed so decided to go with the brown/orange any other colors will be in the form of fall leaf garlands. I have several inspiration boards if you want to take a look.
