I don't think that you should straighten anything! I have curly hair that looks alot like yours and I am going to wear a simple birdcage veil. I suggest to wear your hair down with possibly a vintage pair of clips or something to accent your day to day hair style for the event. I also suggest that you find a hairstylist that has curly hair, or people with curly hair seem to bond. I usually just ask people with curly hair where they get it cut, what they use ...etc.

Here is a curly updo look that I liked. I think you have enough hair for it too... either way the site has a TON of curly options...(several hundred!) this link is to the updo section but they have a curly section as well. I was getting ready to start a post as well. My hair is a little longer (an inch or two past my shoulders). My problem is that it is kinda thin and easily frizzes (actually part of the reason I decided on a fall wedding, less humidity).
