I am having my bridesmaids pay for their dresses, I figure that they should know that comes with being in the wedding. I think the trade-off is their bridesmaid gifts and of course you also buy them their bouquet, in my opinion they should at least pay for their dresses.

My BM's are paying for theirs. I did let them pick out the dress though so I knew they are comfortable with the price.

I am paying for my BM dresses because it took me a long time to find them and they cost about $180 a piece. Luckily I caught AA with a sale with $20 off so it came out to $180. While I understand both sides of view, I felt that for me personally and my BM's that it would be my gift to them. I didnt want any of them to decline my request because of financial obligations. Plus I ordered them really early (Sept) so many of my BM's werent able to purchase them at that time.

My BM's are paying for their own because they have chosen their own dresses. I simply told them the color and that I wanted them to be at least knee length they chose them themselves. If I had a specific dress that they had to have I would have paid for it if it was more expensive.

My BM's also paid for there own. I gave them all a years notice on the color and that they needed to be floor length and no one seemed to mind to having to pay for them. Actually they all assumed they would before I asked them to they were asking me when they needed to have the money ready to buy the dresses.

I'm having the BM pay for their own dresses but they didn't seem to mind and I told them they had final say on what they would wear but they all wanted to match so we ended up going together and it was a fun girls night out.

I only have 2 Bridesmaids, my sister and my future sis in law. They both are paying for their own dresses that I picked out. I got a really good deal on them though at David's Bridal for $99.00. I tried to keep it cheaper, but looking nice and elegeant and just seemed to find the right dress at David's Bridal - go figure! I looked everywhere and this was the best one, and they both were great about it.
Have fun! :)

My BMs paid for their own dresses and they didn't mind at all. They knew it came with being a part of the bridal party. Besides, two are my sisters and the others are my cousins and one best friend.

My BM's paid for their own dresses as well. I tried to make sure I got a dress that wasn't crazy in price but was also something I liked. I had picked about 4-5 dresses I liked from Alfred Angelo and had them try them on and decide on what they liked best. It worked out great because the one they chose was the one I had liked the best but didn't tell them till after their decision was made ;)

I'm paying for them. There's only 3 and I know that they would not be able to afford them. Plus this is going to be my gift to them. So it equals out. :-)
