Dont go on a diet. Change you way of you eat. Many people gain the weight back after going off diets. Just eat healthier. Lots of veggies and fruit. Whole grains. Low fat dairy products. Stay away from fried foods and deserts. Exercise will aid to a overall healthy lifestyle. Drink lots of water.

Join a gym! There are some gyms that offer classes, they are fun and great exercise.
Try to eat healthier foods, more veggies and fruit during the day, instead of grabbing a bag of chips grab your favorite fruit. There are many other low calorie snacks i.e. 2% skim mozzarella cheese sticks, rice cakes, 100 calories pack of popcorn, granola bars, fat free yogurt.
Caffeine helps me avoid hunger pains but instead of a latte that has a billion calories I grab a coffee with a splash of skim milk and splenda. Or tea (which is actually good for you) with skim milk and splenda.

try the south beach diet. Its more of a lifestyle change then a diet. It took me a while to get use to but once I did it was very easy to stick with. I still find myself eating a lot of items based on what the south beach diet tought me. Plus I could "cheat" every once in a while and not feel bad about it. The hardest part is the first 2-3 weeks and trying to find different things for breakfast. I ended up eating more dinner type items for breakfast since all the foods I like for breakfast were not approved. Good luck and let us know how its going.

Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred is the absolute best!!!!!!!!
It's 20 minutes of strength & cardio (non-stop). It was made for people like me who do not want to spend 2hrs in the gym to achieve the same results! It's a very hard workout, but I can assure you the pounds will drop off very quickly! I lost 23lbs in 1 month & I only did it 3 times a week b/c well you know, I just didn't feel like working out :-)
Good Luck!

Weight Watchers is great, and it is not a diet. I started it about 2 months before my wedding and I hit the gym. I met my goal, plus lost another 3 pounds. So it worked great!! But I think that working out is the best thing you can do because you want to get toned, not just lose fat.

oh and judging by your profile pic, you do not have 40 pounds to lose!!!!!!!! Girl, you're crazy!! :o) I'd definitely hit the gym and just workout and try to eat a little better.

I agree with MEG. Don't go on a diet. Just eat healthier, lots of fruit, veggies and lean meats. Skip ANY soda and processed foods. Drink water and green tea. Excercise daily at least 20 minutes of cardio and 20-30 minutes strenght training. I lost 20 pounds two years ago by changing the way I ate and have kept the weight off.

I'm with Meg and Onelove... skip the diet, eat better food, and exercise.
