I don't think words can describe how amazing and talented Heather is with Blue Orchid. I planned my wedding from Houston and was getting married at Deloach Vineyards in Santa Rosa, CA. Heather responded to emails, ideas, and phone calls promptly. Although my budget wasn't 4000.00 the flowers and arrangements she designed felt like that. She is compassionate, talented, and truly tuned in to what I wanted. You always hear about arriving the day of the wedding and your flowers not being anything like you want. FEAR NOT, I arrived and was taken back at how perfect my bouquet was and my bridal parties flowers were just what I asked for. They matched the pictures I sent her and she knew exactly what I was going for.

I would use BLUE ORCHID again hands down. Heather made my event into my wedding and I am forever grateful to her.

My wedding was in May 2011. I had met with three florists and Heather stood out because she was very organized and she really understood my vision. Heather was willing to work within my budget. (while not meager, it was deemed too small by a few florists) Throughout the planning process, Heather was always responsive and provided all the details I needed.

For my personal flowers, I was very specific with what I wanted and she created beautiful bouquets that had all the elements I was looking for. What I loved the most, however, was the dinner reception table arrangements. I had collected about 30 vintage vessels of silver and milk glass. They varied in size and shape. Heather took my vessels and created ~35 arrangements that were all unique but all fit into the theme. When I first walked into our dinner cave, I wanted to stop and look at every single one. The table scape created an elegant and romantic atmosphere. Even my husband, who usually glazes over when I start talking about flowers, was very impressed.

Heather is creative, organized, hardworking, and dedicated to her clients. If you hire her, she'll focus completely on your wedding on that week. She exceeded my expectations and my expectations were high. I don't think the other florists who were going to charge me 2x more could have done a better job.

I used Heather from the Blue Orchid for my October 2010 wedding in Sonoma. My flowers were hands down BEAUTIFUL! She designed the bouquets, centerpieces, etc exactly the way I envisioned them. The flowers are looked so lush, fresh and bright. She was also flexible with any changes I wanted up until the a few days before the wedding. I received many compliments from friends regarding how beautiful the ceremony and reception flowers were.

The Blue Orchid did a FANTASTIC job on the flowers for my wedding. It was actually my favorite vendor. Heather listened to me and just got it, she is so professional and my flowers were stunning!!! It was exactly what I had pictures, exactly. I loved my bridal bouquet so much, I carried it all the way to Hawaii with me, I just couldn't let it go! And my Chuppah was to die for, just gorgeous! Thank you Heather!

Heather Murdock of the Blue Orchid is incredible. Her talent, vision, and artistry are amazing. I had only a vague idea of what I wanted and she was able to translate a few adjectives and a couple of pictures into my dream wedding. The best decision I ever made was to trust Heather's experienced advice and allow her to work her magic. The flowers for the wedding were stunning. The color combinations and design were perfect. She also has a great rental selection and I was able to choose from different votive holders and able to rent the most amazing gold manzanita wish tree from her. We were even able to get all of our rentals from Wine Country Party through her. I learned that Heather is well established and respected by many other vendors in Sonoma. I also wisely had Heather provide day-of coordination, and I didn't worry about a thing on wedding day. Thank you for everything!

Heather was so amazing to work with. DH and I are engineers by trade, so having order and organization was very important to us. Heather was so organized and thorough and felt so comfortable working with her.

I sent her pictures of what I wanted everything to look like and she came back 3 or 4 options for everything. This was great because it allowed us increase and decrease the budget and see where we were at with everything. She was so understanding when I would change anything with the design and always told me "no problem".

Day of wedding, traffic was terrible, and Heather and her staff were stuck in the mist of it all. She arrived a bit late, which stressed me out a little to be honest, but once she got there she busted her but to get everything ready to go. Since she was short on time, she wasn't able to do some little details that we talked about at the trial (ie she had mentioned that if she had time and extra flowers she would scatter loose flowers on the table). Not a biggie since everything else looked great. All in all, the flowers were beautiful and I just loved it all.

Heather is the most talented, sweet, hardworking, artistic, and all-around amazing florist ever!! I was so lucky that Heather was available on my wedding day. I had no idea where to start and was working with a really tight budget. Plus I am obsessed with PEONIES (which are really expensive) and had to have them throughout my wedding. I called around a number of florists in the area and couldn't find anyone who really "got" what I was looking for. They all seemed to just care about what my budget was and would just send me generic quotes on how much everything would cost. Heather was not at all the same. Since I was an out-of-town bride, we just had one 1hr phone conversation, and from the start of the conversation, I knew I HAD to hire Heather!! She was the one!! I just briefly described to her my venue, dress, colors, and overall things i liked (i.e. peonies, light pink, creamy colors, crystals, etc.), and she started giving me ideas that perfectly matched my dream wedding. I was so amazed that she understood what I was looking for right away -- romantic, dreamy, elegant, etc. When the day arrived, I was so ecstatic to see the most BEAUTIFUL, LARGE LIGHT PINK PEONY w/CRYSTALS BOUQUET EVER!! It was everything I hoped for and more. I found out she had been working on since like 4AM in the morning on the day of my wedding to make sure everything was perfect. I was really picky about how I wanted my peony bouquet to look -- really large buds, not fully bloomed so that there's still a roundness/structure to them -- and Heather nailed it straight on. The bouquet she made for me was even prettier than the picture I had shown her. It made such a big difference to our wedding pictures. She also made our gorgeous large ceremony pieces with peonies and painted the urns a light silver color to match our theme. Everything was impeccable and amazing!! I can't thank her enough!! All the girls loved their peony bouquets as well. And she even provides an extra flower toss bouquet for free. Thank you Heather!!

Heather is so great to work with. She is very detail oriented and takes time to learn what you like and don't like! She did an amazing job on the flowers at our wedding and this comes from someone who's top concern was the budget. I'm so glad I used her because not only is she a great person, but she has great taste and did a superb job! She worked with my budget and really provided me with arrangements that blew me away. Also, the boutineers were so unique and amazing! We got so many compliments on the flowers, and they were really a special part of our wedding (even though I didn't think flowers were that important). I highly recommend working with Heather at Blue Orchid!!

Heather did a fantastic job on the flowers for my wedding. She is organized, detailed, and responsive. I was a little worried the first time I met her at her house because her personal garden was dead, but rest assured, she knows what she's doing! Heather gave suggestions about what would look good without pushing her own ideas on me (as I experienced with other "wine country" florists).

For those with cost constraints, Heather can give you options without compromising the really important things like bridal bouquet, etc. Heather is down to earth and professional, and easy to work with. I hired her exactly one month from my wedding date and everything came together beautifully! I would recommend Heather to anyone looking for a florist in wine country. She provides a much more reasonable price than other florists in the area, and does an outstanding job! She even came back at the end of my wedding to wrap up the table bouquets for my guests.

What can I say about Heather at The Blue Orchid? She was fabulous, reliable, professional, etc. She was great. We had met with another florist a few months before meeting with Heather. The other florist never got back to us, and thank goodness she didn't! I found Heather on Project Wedding, and with all the amazing reviews, I knew I had to meet with her. My husband (then-fiance) and I met her at her house and from the moment we looked through her portfolio we were hooked. Heather actually listened to my ideas and what I was looking for. We gave her our budget, and she came back to us with a proposal that fit in very nicely with our budget and exactly the flower choices we wanted. She took the poor suggestion for gazebo flowers from the other florist, and turned it into exactly what we were looking for. She incorporated the overall wedding flower theme into the gazebo and it looked beautiful. And the cake flowers! My cake looked absolutely stunning. Heather even took precautions with the stargazer lilies so the poisonous dust wouldn't get into the cake. My bridal bouquet was amazing and the flower girl basket was the cutest thing I had ever seen. It was a wooden stick-type square with red ribbon and white flowers in the front with red rose petals inside. It was very earthy, unique, and beautiful.

I cannot praise Heather enough. Go meet with her; you will not be disappointed!

Heather Murdock and the Blue Orchid team were really wonderful to work with. They elevated the service of flowers and decors to another level. The flowers were gorgeous, fresh and eye catching, whenever guests came into the venu, they couldn't help talking about it. From the arrangement of the decors and the flowers, they took care of everything, because it only took a couple of hours to consult and decide the thing we wanted in the venu. She brought us the sample of her previous works and pictures we wanted and I really amazed at her work efficieny. Thanks for your excellent service.

Heather provided a detailed plan prior to the event and an updated version as we got closer and needed changes. On the day of the wedding/reception she decorated the courtyard, dining room, which included centerpieces and the buffet table, and the cake. She also made beautiful corsages, boutonnières and the most incredible bridal bouquet. Heather provided a tossing bouquet and a second boutonnière just in case. We couldn't be happier with the way she stuck to our color scheme and everyone who looks at the photos comment on the artistry of her work

We fell in love with Heather from the very first email! So much attention to detail. She thought of all the little things that really made our day pop. We absolutely adored our flowers. She did a perfect job capturing the feel we wanted. Better yet, she worked with us on our budget to really give us the biggest bang for our buck. Not many vendors can say that. Not to mention she was so pleasant to work with every step of the way.

I was an out of town bride doing a destination wedding in wine country and was able to deal with Heather by phone and email for the 6mos leading up to the wedding, and didn't even meet her until the day of the wedding.

She was VERY thorough, and spent a lot of time getting to know about all the small details of the wedding and was very helpful in doing the most she could with a limited budget.
She was also so pleasant and professional and always quick to reply to any correspondance.

Not only was I blown away by her beautiful work on the bouquets and arrangements, but my guests are still talking about how beautiful everything was.

Heather Murdock of The Blue Orchid is an angel! From our very first meeting, her expertise shone through. In selecting the overall feeling of our wedding, Heather lent her advice on flower families and color combinations. Her attention to detail meant that I didn't have to worry for a second. Organized and honest, Heather was amazing and a miracle worker! We selected flowers and hues and told her our budget...and she made it work.
