Melissa Sylvain's character and integrity can be summed up by her actions:

Sylvain's Florist, owned and operated by Melissa Sylvain, was hired to provide flower arrangements for our wedding. Not only did she ruin aspect of the order and deliver half the flowers we paid for, but when we asked for a refund she calmly informed us that no refund would be coming since she FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. Rather than returning our phone calls, calling vendors to get us refunds on items that were not delivered or taking any steps to make things right, Melissa Sylvain just walked away with the money and bankrupted her company. If this is the type of character and integrity you wish to avoid in a business relationship, do not get yourself involved with Melissa Sylvain.

I just had my wedding this past weekend. out of all my vendors, I was mostly disappointed with my florist. so few things went wrong on my big day

1. in the contact, we have that lily will be float as center pieces, then we also talked about if lily does not work, she would use daisy instead. on the day of the wedding, her husband showed up with roses. I have mentioned to her numerous time that I personally dislike roses very much. I could not believe that she actually put the cut rose in the bowl. I wanted a floating flower, not a cut rose. it looked super cheap and poorly done. I was so disappointed.

2, my bouquet was almost dead by the time i got it at 11am. I understand hydrangeas die easily. But in my other friends wedding, their florist always wrap the stern in wet tower to help. I do not understand why my bouquet was poorly done and almost dead...everyone;s bouquet all dead by the afternoon.

3, i was under the impression that she would be the one that help setting up everything on the day of. I do not mind if she double book 2 weddings, but at least please communicate with me ahead of the time. I could of get my family to help out if i knew she was not planning on showing. she ended up sending her husband who is an engineer who also had little clue with what to do with the flower arrangement. I would be better off having friends and family set up instead of her.

As those being said, I am very much disappointed by how things turn out to be. unfortunately, what's done is done. I am sharing my experience here to warning all the other future brides. I highly recommend to go with someone else for your big day flower arrangement.

I had a great time meeting with Melissa. She really took the time to make sure the flowers that we were using worked well together & fit my liking. My flowers were beautiful the day of the ceremony, I'm still so happy with my bouquet! Because the weather wasn't cooperating (wind) we weren't able to use everything we'd hoped for, but Melissa was very accomodating and helpful with figuring out how to make things look beautiful.

Thank you so much for the beautiful flower arrangements and bouquets for our October wedding! We had no idea what we wanted but you delivered something wonderful. The quality of the flowers and workmanship was excellent! We got received numerous compliments and we could not keep the guests from taking the arrangements before the reception ended. The fresh roses for the wedding cake were astonishing; more than we expected.

Melissa from Sylvain Florist was awesome! She was always so friendly and helpful. The flowers that she put together for my wedding were some of the most beautiful roses I've ever seen. Melissa's shop is really close to my house and so when I stopped in the day before the wedding she was very kind about showing a to-be-bride the arriagements she was already working on. I highly reccommend Sylvain's Florist.

Melissa at Sylvain's Florist was awesome. I met with her a few times before the wedding and I have to admit that I wasn't really sure what I wanted when it came to the flowers. After talking about my color scheme and looking at some pictures she really provided exactly what I wanted. She is easy to work with and super helpful. The flowers were beautiful and the guests still can't stop talking about how beautiful the centerpieces were!

Melissa was extremely helpful with all the flowers I needed. She was creative with meeting my budget as well as fulfilling my floral wants/needs. My flowers were beautiful. She was more than willing to meet with me any time I felt I needed to go over the details with her and was flexible to assure the flowers were in place for pre-pictures. She provides personal service.

She came through with everything! excellent delivery and would highly recommend, even at the most stressfull of times, she was able to help us and get our wedding day working!

Melissa is a fun florist! She was always very patient and had great advise to give me! She made the magazine clips I brought a reality! The last few months before the big day, I made new requests and Melissa adjusted and made suggestions with no worries at all! One of those last minute requests was to design and make an organza drape for the cermony site which was just amazing! It swayed beautifully in the wind as we got married and was a beautiful addition to so many pictures! We received so many compliments on it! My bridesmaids loved the simple HOT PINK daisies I had requested and the ribbon colors chosen were included! YAY! All the guests loved the centerpieces and she decorated the bridal party table of FOURTEEN so elegantly! Melissa also advised me on how to save money and where to put my bouquet after the ceremony and to bring in the ceremony flowers to the reception! What great money savers! How kind! Melissa was available throughout the year to drop off small payments and she even remembered to tie a piece of my dress to the bouquet...just as requested...which I had brought in months ahead of time! I gave her my mom's rosary from her wedding which I got the day before the wedding at the rehearsal dinner and she was able to tie it in the DAY OF THE WEDDING!! I couldn't be happier! Thank you SO much! I highly recommend Sylvain's Florist!!!

Melissa was so great to work with. I got married on Valentine's Day, which is a very busy day for florists and she was amazing with her prompt responsiveness, flexibility, professionalism and creative eye. Her flowers were gorgeous and was able to work within our budget in a short amount of time with many changes. I would definitely recommend her she is wonderful!

I really liked every aspect of the product provided by Sylvain's. My wedding size of attendees was about 160 people at the reception and probably about 180 people at the wedding. Sylvain's provided church pew decorations, two large arrangements at the alter, and 2 medium arrangements and about 26 table arrangements at the wedding venue. Sylvain's also provided the bridal bouquets (one to toss and one to keep), the brides maid bouquets, corsages for mothers and grandmothers, and groomsmen. First, and most important, the quality of the flowers and workmanship was excellent! Second, the communication was excellent. I changed the arrangement with no problems. When Melissa had problems with the quality of one of the flowers in the arrangement, she had an alternative solution, and communicated her solution very quickly to me. I particularly liked that she carries a PDA like device where she can review pictures very quickly, which she did on one occasion minutes after I had sent pictures of the pews to her at her home.

For me, selecting the flowers for my wedding was the single most daunting task. I was a bride that had no knowledge of types of flowers, what was in-season or out-of-season, which types were expensive, etc...and for me, this lack of education left me feeling vulnerable. From the moment I met Melissa, I knew I was in good hands. I explained to her the colors of flowers I was looking for and she went down a list with me right there, explaining the cost of each one, showing me detailed pictures. She took the time to educate me and answer ALL of my questions. Once we signed the contract with Melissa, I was confident that the flowers were now one detail I would not need to worry about.

The day of the wedding Melissa dropped of all of the girls bouquets at the church, so the first time I saw a glimpse into her final product was only minutes before I walked down the aisle. Granted I was a little emotional that day, but the moment I laid eyes on my bouquet tears started to form. It was beautiful. I had asked her to put some type of silver "sparkle" in my bouquet and Melissa made hearts out of metal wiring, wrapping two diamond looking gems in the arch of each heart. The detail was amazing and make me feel very special.

When we finally got to the reception, I was able to peak into the room before my guests arrived....and again, TEARS! The centerpieces exceeded my expectations ten fold. Not only was I impressed, but the staff in charge of our wedding at the Marriot were in awe. Several members of their staff told me that those were the best looking centerpieces they had ever seen...and being in the wedding business, I am sure they have seen their share of centerpieces! :)

I highly recommend Melissa and the members of Sylvain's Florist for any of your floral needs. When choosing to book with Sylvain's Florist you can be confident that their staff will go above and beyond to exceed your expectations.

We used Sylvain's Florist for our daughter's wedding and found Melissa, the owner, to be very easy to work with, affordable and professional in her approach to the best use of flowers for the budget we had set. She was able to create just the mood through colors and types of flowers that my daughter had in mind for her wedding. We would recommend using Sylvain's Florist for any event mainly due to the ease of working with a professional who aims to not push, but to listen to the request of the client. I can not say enough about Sylvain's Florist. Melissa was great and the flowers were wonderful -I think almost every guest took home a centerpiece. She was always available to discuss new ideas and changes -even what color linens I should get. She is also so pleasant and our initial consultation was great. I gave her what I was going for with color and mood and she immediately knew what to do and what I needed. She also has a great eye and was able to make changes and editing choices. The end result was even better than what she had described. I had requested fruit in my centerpiece vases and she cut the fruit which gave the pieces so much depth and texture and they smelled so good. It was little choices like that that made her design so special. Also there were so many different flowers and colors that I had not even though of just proving how good she is at this.She also made me feel very comfortable and worked with out budget. It was not a roses budget but she did add some and they were beautiful and really enhanced the bouquet. Pick up and delivery were seamless and the service was top notch!!

I would recommend her to anyone needing flowers for a big day -she makes it easy and it will be the one thing you will not have to worry about!

We worked primarily with Melissa, who was a very pleasant woman and who I think was the owner. I'm not sure if she's just swamped with work or with a new baby, but we found that often times, she would tell us one thing and do another. Her email responses are sporadic and so I think we had some miscommunication along the way in terms of consultations and our needs. What we thought was supposed to be a consultation/review of the flowers turned into just a short meeting to add items to the contract. When I went in to review the flowers, she had a sample of my bouquet, but it didn't have all of the right colors or the right amount of fullness. She didn't have a sample of any of the other floral items we had in our contract. I was a bit disappointed considering we had to pay for the consultation/review. I would assume to have a finished product if I have to pay for it.

Melissa was very flexible however, with scheduling and the delivery (she delivered the flowers herself since they're usually closed on Sundays) and we did very much appreciate that extra effort to meet with us on closed days and whatnot.

As for the flowers themselves, the bridal bouquet was pretty, but was not quite what I had envisioned. It was a lot smaller than what I was lead to believe it would be, but it was still nice. The groom's rose totally wilted about 2 hours later. It was a rose, so I thought it was supposed to be sturdier. However, it may have been due to the heat from being outside. Also, we asked for blue ribbons on the bouquet, corsages, etc but she wrapped the flowers in white ribbon.
