DISAPPOINTING! We met Tanya on Weddingwire.com. We had a smaller budget, but our wedding was on a Monday, so she was able to work with us on that. She includes an engagement session with any contract. Our engagment session was four hours long spent with her and her husband, we were going to be using the pics for our photo guest book she was creating for us. We had a great time, and the pictures were great. The only catch was that she only released 20 pictures from the session. I was thinking there should be more, as we were there for four hours. So I emailed her and she informed me that those were the very best ones and that a lot of the others she did not wish to disclose as they were not up to her standard. It didn't matter that much, as we only needed about 10 pics and they were all good. I dropped it.
Two weeks or so before the wedding she requested a "shot list" for group photos. I took time out to make the list and sent it back promtly. During group photos at the wedding she informed me that "she didn't bring the list" I was unable to remeber my 50 or so different pose combos, and the back up copy I had was too far away. What kind of photographer doesn't bring the shot list to the wedding? We had to go on with out it (I would have had about triple the amount I recieved of group shots had the list been followed).
I waited the 6-8 weeks she requested after the wedding to recieve the link to view my wedding photos. My contract was 5 hours of photography with two photographers. My father in law had already given me 396 pictures from the wedding, so I was very anxious for the "offical" ones. She sent me the link, there were 411 pictures, we both loved them. Then it wore off as we started to ask, "Hey where is that picture of both of us kissing our son?" (she had set up the pose), and "There are no pictures of me before I met with my father prior to walking down the isle.". More and more we realized that lots of poses she set up for us, had no picture. She had taken our wedding bands, to photograph, and again there was no picture. I had forgotten about it, but my father in law had pics of this (luckily). I quickly emailed her and expressed my concern and asked for very specific pictures, her response was that she couldn't find those shots, maybe I was mistaken.
I was very dissappointed at this point. A week later I checked her blog, (she posts pictures) and much to my surprise there was a picture from my wedding that had not been disclosed to me!! She had more pictures from my wedding that were good enough to put on her blog, but not good enough to give to me! I contacted her once again with this evidence, and requested a copy of all pictures taken at my wedding. She emailed me one sentence and said she would mail them asap.
She did send the pictures, the "finished" and "raw" on various cds. There were 7 finished and 8 cds of raw pictures. 8 cds full of pictures that I would have never seen, had I not checked her blog and been very adamant with her. She has not contacted me since. She owes me a print, she had given me a coupon for prior to the wedding. Now I have to find alternate sources to print pictures, have pictures enlarged/ edited and a new venue to have an album made. These are things I should be able to do with my contracted, professional photographer, and now am without. We feel ripped off by this photographer.
I don't know what happened, but I don't understand how two people designated to take pictures turn out less shots than a guest of honor at the occassion. Why would the photographer not give you all the pictures they have (most of the "raw" pictures were just as good as the finished)? And why, when you tell your contracted photographer, that you have known for 9 months, who is supposed to capture and preserve your one and only special day, not be willing to work with you and make you feel better? Perhaps because she had already been paid?
If you are already booked with MetroBlue, have a talk with her. Tell her EXACTLY what you are expecting from her. If you are searching for a photographer for your wedding, move along. It is too important a day, to have all of this mess to deal with.

Tonya is wonderful to work with! My fiancé and I can’t say enough good things about her! We did an e-session with her and the pictures turned out amazing. Tonya has a great, bubbly, and easy to work with personality that really is reflected in her work. She loves what she does and you can tell because the way she makes sure EVERYTHING is perfect. Honestly I never expected that photos would make such a great investment, but these pictures we will cherish for years to come.

Tanya and Jake, of Metro Blue Photography, are a fantastic duo with a lot of energy and creativity; it is obvious that they have a passion for photography. They are very professional, always on time, flexible with your desires and needs and provide an exceptional quality of service beyond the imagination! I am so happy I found Tanya and Jake and cannot wait to have them capture many more special moments in my life.

We can't go on about Tanya! She was so good to us from start to finish. We were always able to get in touch with her. She was always to happy to hear from us when we would have questions for her and took care of all of the details. We wanted photos that were unique to us and represented our style. Tanya nailed it right on the head. Tanya is professional, friendly and extremely creative!!! I can look through my photos and know that they are unique in every way. I will use her again for any future photos.
