💗Sonesta Redondo Beach and Marina is an absolutely stunning venue that exceeded all of our expectations for our Valentine's Day wedding. The moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the warmest hospitality. Mrs. Cheryl, our wedding coordinator, was simply outstanding. She was not only sweet and professional but also incredibly detail-oriented, ensuring that every aspect of our special day was flawless. She went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was perfect, and her dedication truly made our celebration unforgettable. The venue itself is a picture-perfect setting, with elegant indoor spaces and a beautiful outdoor terrace that provided the perfect backdrop for some of our photos. The Peninsula ballroom was gorgeous, and all of guests raved about how lovely it was. We moved the ceremony indoors as well, since it was too cold and windy to use the pool deck area. The catering staff was attentive and accommodating, and the food was delicious. We had sea bass, steak and chicken entrees for our guests to select from. Mrs. Cheryl customized our package, since we didn't want the open bar. We did use one of their preferred vendors, Vox Djs, and it turned out really well. This was the first venue we toured, and after looking at 7 other potential venues, Sonesta really had the most value for the money. We couldn't have asked for a more magical day, and we are so grateful to Sonesta Redondo Beach and Marina for making our wedding dreams come true. Thank you Mrs. Cheryl, Robin, all the banquet staff, and the valet guys.💗 P.S. We were able to select our own bakery for our cake. Since the folks at Torrance Bakery (the preferred vendor) were not very nice, creative, nor accommodating of what we wanted, which was a jaw-dropping, amazing wedding cake. Don't feel forced to use Torrance Bakery if you are not satisfied with your tasting/design consultation. For a wedding cake, you should not have to settle for less than perfection.

We had our wedding reception at Bluewater Grill in Redondo Beach, and it was truly everything we could have hoped for and more. The Event Manager, Vida, was absolutely incredible. She made the entire process seamless from start to finish. Leading up to the event, she was always clear, responsive, and organized, and when a few of our personal hiccups came up the day before, she immediately stepped in with solutions. She even went above and beyond by offering to handle items we had planned to manage ourselves, which took so much stress off our plate. On the day of the wedding, we were completely blown away. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely wonderful to work with. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was, it truly exceeded expectations. And the setting…you simply can’t beat it. The ocean views and sunset through the windows created the most magical atmosphere for our special day. Our wedding was unforgettable, and we owe so much of that to Vida and her team. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, stress free, and truly special experience.

I had such an amazing experience! First of all, the location is beyond perfect. The ceremony space and ballrooms overlook the ocean, and it’s extremely gorgeous during sunset. The staff and service were phenomenal, they went above and beyond to make sure all the details were in place. Even the staff at the hotel were friendly and accommodating! A few of our family had flights later in the afternoon, so we were nervous they would have to wait around at the airport for a long time. But, front desk was able to extend our checkout easily. I have to give a few shoutouts! Thank you Diana for your swift responses–you did a great job keeping us updated with the room block. And thank you to Rain! You were such a dream to work with. Not only were you professional and courteous, you made the process streamlined and seamless. I would highly recommend this venue!

We had the best wedding ever at Shade in May 2024! We are local to the area and wanted to have a no-nonsense venue that had everything in-house and Shade was the perfect venue for us. The food was great, the drinks delicious, incredible views, space for our guests, pretty and comfortable outdoor furniture/fireplace, and they let us pick and choose what we wanted. And unexpected bonus - included in the price was designing our wedding signage and printing them for us! (We did pay an additional very reasonable price for our welcome sign to be printed as it was large - but that was it.) They were able to perfectly match all fonts, colors, and designs to our wedding invitations that we got from Minted. Saved us so much time, money, and stress! The Blu room for getting ready was super comfortable for the bridesmaids and me and the comped King suite with two tvs was perfect for the groom and groomsmen to get ready in! There were amazing food options for the night - and we loved our selections for appetizers, salads, dinner, dessert, and late night! We were hoping the weather would be a little warmer so we could take more advantage of opening all the doors/windows on the horizon level for our reception, but we were at least able to open one side and appreciate the spectacular location and views of the sunset! I wish we could put 4.5 stars because there were some communication challenges. Especially in the beginning. We sometimes went weeks without getting a response, even after following up once or twice. But all of that went away once we were connected with Jade! She was knowledgeable, communicative, and willing to work with us to make sure our day was the best day ever. She was detailed, thorough, went above and beyond to make sure our vision was met and our guests had a great time, and was such a joy to work with. We felt so comfortable with her in the last couple months of planning that the day of the wedding, we fully trusted that we could simply enjoy the day - which we did tremendously. With Jade in the picture, the only negative about the venue itself is that it was difficult to hide the bride before the ceremony. With the marina being the optimal back drop for pre-wedding photos and guests arriving early, I was seen by several people even though I was hidden away 30+ minutes before we asked people to arrive. Luckily for us, that was something we didn't really care about. But wanted to share because it is important to some people! Overall, couldn't have been happier with how our wedding went and highly recommend hosting your wedding/event at Shade!

My husband and I got married at the Redondo Beach Hotel on 10.13.24 and everything met our expectations. We were seeking something more private & intimate . We were able to occupy the Harbor Room , Catalina Room and the Rooftop Patio. The space was perfect for all of our guest and clean . Many of our guest stayed at the hotel for a few days including my husband and I . We have agreed to come back once a year in honor of our anniversary. The Catalina Room was the perfect venue for my wedding two weeks ago. It was great working with Swathi on booking this venue and she was very informative leading up to our event. Pastor Joe and his team were amazing at making sure we had everything setup as requested. They worked with our vendors even though we weren't there during the setup window since our wedding ceremony was at the same time as the setup window. It truly was a blessing to book this venue. Highly recommended!!!

Father Joe Kammerer was our officiant at St. James Catholic Church. The church itself has some stringent rules about ceremonies. If you like a simple and clean ceremony, this is the place for you. If you want lots of flowers, petals, the runner, etc. find another church. Some of the rules were a bit hard for me to swallow, but I managed and our wedding was truly beautiful without all the pomp and circumstance. Father Joe met with us several times, as many times as we wanted. He was always accomodating to our needs and wants. We were a little concerned after the rehearsal that we had rehearsed things out of order and we would all be confused, but Father Joe guided us through the ceremony and we got hitched without any glitches. It was truly a smooth ceremony, including the extras and unique modifications we made to the ceremony to suit ourselves. I have to note as well that the church encourages every couple to participate in an Engagement Encounter Weekend. We would highly recommend this as well. We were a close couple before, but grew even closer and learned how to communicate even better during that weekend. The couples running the weekend were very helpful and compassionate. Nobody, regardless of religion, should get married without first going to an Engagement Encounter.

Working with Salvador Torres from the beginning of the planning stages and his staff on up to the night of our reception dinner was well worth it. The pricing for all the food, the location and his staff were an absolute dream. Each one of his staff worked tirelessly on the night of our reception to make sure everyone had enough food and drinks and were comfortable. And having the upstairs room all to ourselves with the patio was awesome. Everyone had a BLAST!

Sofia was great! Everything was just lim I envisioned. My wedding was perfect thanks to Sofia and her wonderful establishment.
